Hard plastic, hard to fidget

Bought this for my 9m old who is enjoying manipulating things in different ways. It’s way harder plastic and way more difficult to twist than expected and he can’t really twist it. It’s become my adult fidget toy lol.

Fun toy, wish my baby liked it - fun for Mom too!

I got this for my 8 month old when he was teething and putting everything in his mouth to help the pain. Unfortunately, he didn't take to it well, I don't know why. (He seems to prefer teething on his own fists and his father's fingers than on any toys or teething rings!) His big brother, my 2 year old actually likes playing with it though. And it's a great fidget toy even for adults!

Easy for child to grab

It's always a crapshoot whether YOUR child will like it...

I have been eyeing this toy at Amazon for quite a long time, but thought it was a bit pricey for "just" a teether/clutch toy (I am cheap and get most of our toys at consignment sales). Finally I just bought it, and my baby loved it immediately. He is barely old enough to start clutching toys (about 3-4 mos. at the time I gave it to him) and this one was very easy for him to grab in his tiny little fist and hang on. It also was easy for him to get it to, and into, his mouth. Again, this guy's VERY young. Sometimes it would slip up his arm, like a bracelet, and he couldn't get it off, but he'll be able to when he's bigger. He likes it alot, and we like it because it's colorful, small, portable, durable, twisty (so it appears to be different shapes all the time), and easy to wash. I suspect the reason it's not supposed to be immersed is because of the clear sections that contain little balls that rattle. If it soaked in water for a long time, small amounts of water could seep in there and probably wouldn't easily come out. I do immerse it in hot soapy water briefly, give it a rub, and rinse it immediately, and have no issues. Similarly, I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher because I suspect the heat would damage either the plastic or rubber parts. But I don't understand the reviewers who say they can't clean this thing. It's sometimes impossible to predict if *your* kid will like something before he/she tries it, but this one was a hit for us. It was well worth the money, as are most other Munchkin products.

A great teething toy!

We have twin boys, and bought them two different teething rings recently -- this was one of them. They love them both - for different reasons. We got them both this Munchkin ring and theNuby Bug A Loop Teether Bead, Colors May Vary . They like the soft texture and flexibility of the Nuby ring. This ring is different - the links, or sections, are all stiff, though some have a soft coating on the outside. As a teething toy, the different textures on the various sections are great to give the baby some variety. Sometimes, they like chewing on the softer sections which have different molded textures. Sometimes, they like to chew on the hard plastic sections. It must be for them like choosing between Mounds and Almond Joy - sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. Sometimes the baby wants to chew something hard, sometimes (s)he doesn't. Some of the hard plastic sections have little pieces inside to work like a rattle. Don't worry - nothing's broken - that's the way it's designed. As a parent, I appreciate that the rattle isn't too loud at all. I find that the babies like this just as much as a toy as they do for it's teething qualities. They like to play with its various configurations, changing shapes, etc as they manipulate the sections. This has provided hours of entertainment and is almost always one of the items that we throw into their carseats or the diaper bag when we go out. Five stars for sure!

Bigger than expected, probably perfect for an older baby

This item was much larger than I thought it would be... it is a little too big for my 4 month old and there are not enough chewy parts. Only the blue and purple parts are chewable. One reviewer commented on the twisting aspect of the toy... my son also doesn't like how it twists into an 8 and then he can't figure out how to untwist it to continue chewing... We will be putting this toy away until he has a little more fine motor skills. Nov 13 2015: Checking in again now that my baby is 7 months. He does like this toy now and the twisting aspect keeps him entertained as he tries to figure out how to untwist it. He has not hurt himself or pinched himself due to the twisting as another review mentioned. He has hit himself with it though and it is made out of hard plastic with the exception of the blue and the purple parts. One thing I have found I don't like it that if you wash it, water gets inside. You can only wipe this toy clean and I like to boil most of his toys or at least rinse it under running water.

Best Teether!

I purchased this for my daughter when she was 8 months old and in a lot of discomfort from teething. She is now 22 months and this teether has proven itself to be a great purchase. She really liked it at first, it was very easy to hold and she could twist it and shake it. Although the rattle is very very subtle, she still got a kick out of it. She didn't chew on it much, but I think she just preferred to chew on cold, wet, cloths at the time. Eventually she didn't care for it much, so it made its way to the bottom of the toy bin. After a couple of months, she discovered it again and it became her best friend. This time she chewed it often, preferring the harder sides instead of silicone. Eventually, again, it was tossed aside, but only for a while and she would dig it out again and keep it by her side for a few days. When the 2-year molar demon reared it's ugly head, I really didn't think she would find much interest in this teether. I figured she had outgrown it. But I was desperate to find her some relief for her poor gums as she didn't care for anything else, so I found it and offered it to her. That was 2 weeks ago and it's still her go-to. She loves chewing on all of the panels now. When it's not in her mouth, she's twisting it into different shapes. She really loves it. For the low cost, I'd say I definitely got my moneys worth.

Bought for my pup

I bought this as a chew toy for my pup a year ago, in hopes of discouraging her chewing on furniture, electrical cords etc. After more than a year I bought a second one. The first is showing some wear and tear but not much. It is a very well made product and I can recommend this. It's sure to last a long time for a baby as they aren't as destructive as a dog. Reason I bought it as a dog toy is because it's meant for a baby there is no possibility of it being toxic, not something guaranteed with pet toys.

Perfect for little hands

At first I was frustrated because my daughter started teething around 3m and she could really hold on to things for relief. I got this one because I thought it would be easy for her to maneuver - sadly I was wrong. I put it away for a while, but now that she’s older (7m) I thought why not? So I brought it out again, and now it’s her favourite toy! She’s captivated by the way it moves, and the colours. It’s easy to clean, and seems to be great for her (still) teething gums! Would recommend :)

Good option

I chose this for the different pattern and textures of the silicone and it seems like the perfect thickness to replace chewing on mommy's fingers but it is actually thicker and more dense than I had thought and the plastic is very hard; my son didn't use it much as he seems to prefer softer textures, so back to mommy's fingers! The colours are great and the shape changing feature is neat, but may not really be used by the baby, I would definitely try again with another baby.

Great Toy!

Great teething toy but, also acts as a great toy for those not teething. Many different textures for sensory play and fun colours! Moves in different ways, which our little one loves. Easy for little hands to hold. Great price point for this toy. Please let us know if you found our review helpful!
