WELL DESIGNED AND COMFORTABLE TO WEAR - KEEPS MY HAND-ARM STRAIGHT - REDUCES PAIN
I had one of these braces from many years ago and it has served me well. It can be used on either the left or right hand. Recently, I needed a second one for my other hand and was very pleased to find that it is still available. I noticed a tiny improvement. It comes with inserts which provide stiffness but they can be removed for more flexibility while still providing good bracing. I remove the palm insert when I use the computer - makes it a bit easier to use the mouse.

Can be modified without compromising the integrity of the body of the brace
I have wrists that measure within the s/m size but, because of swelling, my forearms never do. That's why I love these Mueller wrist stabilizers for nighttime. I get the L/XL size & adjust accordingly. The material that bridges the two sides of the brace on the top side is kind of stretchy & the strap that encircles the forearm not only stretches, but if my forearm is really swollen I can just use a large safety pin to pin it to the body of the brace at a more comfortable position. I've seen plenty of comments on itchy, rough &/or unpadded areas on these and plenty of other braces. Let me just say that most people will never find the 'perfect' brace for them, that's why you should think about modifications that don't compromise the integrity of the body of the brace itself. Not enough padding? Get either a cushiony Merino wool or cotton knee high sock (of course you'll need to make some cuts so you can use it like a glove - I just cut off the foot & use the calf/shaft area - and I cut a thumb slit about 2" down from the cut edge which is the narrower part) or some lambs wool stuffing - which you can find in foot care on Amazon. You can also use padded adhesive tape (first aid supplies), padded adhesive mole skin (foot care) or adhesive velvet sheets (arts & crafts). These items will also take care of any itchy or rough areas. The adhesive items can be cut to size and applied where needed. Make sure you pay attention to their thickness because If your brace fits just right using an adhesive item that's too thick will throw the fit off. If you need a little cushion for your palm you can use the toe area of the sock you cut up & stuff it w/cotton balls or lambs wool and then sew it closed. If you use lambs wool, or polyester stuffing (arts & crafts) you'll be able to hand wash it. Don't make it too thick or you'll throw off the correct angle that the brace is fixed at for your wrist. I use either a merino wool knee high/dress sock (longer calf area) when it's cooler & a high cotton content tube sock when it's hotter. I've also used a knee high compression sock when swelling is a problem. I don't cinch the brace too tight when I use socks because my hands go numb. I always buy men's socks for these applications because the calf/shaft area of the sock is always longer than it is in women's. Most any brace can be made more comfortable if you use your imagination & ingenuity to modify them with ordinary everyday items. Best wishes for a more comfortable brace!

Gotta Love It!
It's unbelievable how much support and relief this brace provides. In fact, I really didn't believe braces like this could provide the kind of relief I was looking for. But a friend, who has used one for months, gave it such high praise that I had to try it. Besides, at that point I could barely endure more than a couple of hours at the computer, which for a video editor is not enough time to get much of anything done. I started wearing the brace for every editing session and was almost immediately able to work twice as long before having to rest. Eventually, I found myself working for quite long periods of time before realizing I hadn't even put the brace on. Now, months later, I still wear it periodically but no longer have to rely on it every time. I don't know if my experience with this brace is because my discomfort was only a minor injury or if it is because the brace is JUST THAT GOOD. And I guess without having a doctor examine it, I won't know. But for right now, I have no compelling reason to see a doctor as long as my wrist continues to get stronger. You'll have to decide for yourself how severe your injuries are and I certainly wouldn't suggest this brace in lieu of medical attention. But as a first line of defense for what you believe to be a minor injury, I give this brace very high praise!

Size is not accurate!
First, it is difficult to get something to fit around your forearm when size is based on a wrist measurement. According to my wrist, I should have plenty of room in a size S/M. However, since I know that my forearms are comparatively somewhat larger (given prior experience with the VA), I went with the XL and, as can be seen in the photo, the upper (closer to the elbow) edge is stretched to its limit. Could be more comfortable, especially when the imprint on skin the following morning takes about 20 minutes to clear. Second, it's great that there are only two straps, with no squeeze/overlap. It still holds securely. The only issue there is that the lower (closer to the hand) strap comes out of its buckle. Every. Single. Time. It might be easier to manage with one hand if the strap grew an inch so it remains in the buckle. I'll try adding a strip of Velcro. Third, it hurt paying $40 for two braces (yeah, one for each wrist - most people come with a matched pair) when the VA provided a pair free. The only problem with the free ones is that you get what you pay for - and the $40 was well spent to get needed relief with reasonable comfort, compared to additional aggravation imposed by the freebie.

New version good, old version better
I've attached pictures showing the newest version of this brace, on the left, with the older one, on the right. You'll notice that the top strap (the shorter strap) is a bit shorter on the new version than the old version. When in use, this isn't really a big deal as it's stapped on; but when taking the brace off or putting it back on, that strap has to be fed through the loop every single time. It's just annoying. With the extra few inches of length of the old top strap, it stayed looped through the buckle so that annoyance didn't exist. Even still, this is the only brace I've found (and I've tried many) that actually fits and holds my hand, wrist, and arm together comfortably. Remember, this is a brace, so "comfort" is a lose term; but I think this is about as comfortable as such a thing can be.

Poor sizing
This Mueller Wrist Stabilizer, Large/X-Large is supposed to be the same size as my old one—but it is not and it doesn't fit. It is now made in China.... don't waste your money, buy elsewhere.
