SLOW TO CHARGE
Purchased for daughter and she really like this unit. Says it charged her phone to a useable level and that the lantern still worked. She has two flashlights from same mfg. and really impressed with the company products. great value for the cost. 3/21 UPDATE. Daughter left in full sunlight for 4 hours to get light to charge from one dot to 2 dots ...takes a very long time to charge. She did state that she had charge fully with power cord and it charged her phone to 85% before it went to one dot and stopped charge on phone. So it will not go fully dead when charging phone.

REAL SURVIVAL SITUATION
You’ll often hear people say “I almost died” in reference to a myriad of things. However, when I say I almost died camping in Bighorn National Forest a month ago, I really mean it. I spent a night in sub-zero degree temperature without a tent, and survived. Here’s how the MPOWERD Luci Outdoor 2.0 Pro helped me through: I was trapped in 2 and a half feet of snow, 6000 feet above sea level, in 15 degree weather that was rapidly falling to a low of -5, trying to get back up a large mountain. Exhausted and completely drained of life energy, I was forced to take shelter off the trail. In pitch black darkness, I was able to affix the solar lantern to a tree that was able to alert Search & Rescue to where I was. The first thing that comes to my mind in terms of the value of this lantern is its brightness. At 150 lumens, it’s very bright. As a matter of fact it was so bright that it honestly looked like a streetlight on the mountain trail I was camping off of. The light, being LED, is white mostly and actually here the 4th light setting (the strobe setting) was very helpful. Secondly, the capacity of the lantern is impressive. 5 days into my trip I had been using it every night for at least 2-3 hours a night. Since leaving my house, all I did was put it on the cars dashboard a few times and it was good staying on for 4 hours until I was found by Search & Rescue at 2 in the morning. This being the case, the battery capacity is pretty close to what is advertised. Lastly, I really liked how lightweight and compact this lantern is. A lot of other options out there, that aren’t even solar, are really too bulky and/or too heavy. This lantern fit perfect on the top of my hiking backpack and it was so quick to inflate that it definitely gave me a sense of ease when it got dark out and I needed light. The main thing I didn’t like about this lantern was the material. The plastic used in its construction is soft, and not meant to last. For example, the top handle on my lantern ripped off within a week even though I was pretty careful with it even in an extreme survival situation. In addition, it developed a rip a some point along my trip, which prevents it from inflating all the way now. Not only this, but after leaving it on the dashboard to charge the lanterns plastic outer coating would start to melt. The only other thing I can think of is how the charging is slower than I was hoping for. After leaving it out for hours on the car dashboard, it would gain 2 out of 4 of the cubes. The point is here, don’t expect to leave this thing all night and be able to charge it up for extended use the next day. Overall, I’d say that the MPOWERD Luci Outdoor Pro 2.0 was worth the purchase and I recommend anyone considering it to try it out. In a real emergency situation it helped the relevant authorities find me, sticking through days of use and going through the night in sub-zero degree temperatures. For the low price point, I believe it’s genuinely worth adding to your camping gear.

Use everyday
I have one of the first Luci lights and it still works. What I like about the pro is the USB charging you can use a battery bank if there wasn't sun that day. I use them at my off grid homebase and in my camper van.

The USB charge is through its own cable
It's a Luci, so it's awesome regardless of whatever they do to it. But the charge port being USB A you are adding a specific cord to your needed pack because this can't use anything else. It's nice that the Luci can charge my phone, but being forced into using their cord is enough that I think it needed to be said. Yes it's still worth it, but the USB port not being Type C is extremely disappointing.

A bit hard to blow up
The brightness of this lamp is great for camping. Even the lowest setting is bright enough to use in the middle of the night. I did find it a little difficult to inflate with my lungs because of the tightness of the valve. Easily does collapse back down for easy storage. The handle is nice for having it wrap around a tree branch or carrying it in my hand when going to the bathroom.

Great product, highly recommended, great gift for hikers
I can’t recommend these strongly enough for hikers/campers. Ditch the heavy propane or battery operated lanterns and you won’t look back with regret. Benefits are numerous 1). Weight. These are super light, always a concern when you’re backpacking 2). Compact. Also a concern when hiking, but even if you’re car camping. These take up next to no space and are easy to stow just about anywhere. When hiking you just attack it to your pack exterior so it takes up no space inside even as it charges up. Wen driving we just toss them on top of our stuff in back so hte charge through the hatch window 3). Lighting. You’ll rarely if ever need to use the highest level. These are bright enough to read by inside the tent, bright enough to light your path to the bathroom. The only time we use the highest level is to brighten up a decently large area around the picnic table as we’re cooking. 4). I’ve not timed the run time. All I can say is we’ve never had one dim or run out on us after hours of use at night. Because they charge as we hike or drive, we’ve never run one down 5). The only concern for a reduction like this that expands and folds is durability. These are well made and don’t tear or puncture easily. All I can say is we still have first generation ones that we hike with for a month or two every year, folding and expanding every day and night, exposed to all sorts of weather, occasionally scraped on the ground as we put packs down (though we do try to be careful about that) and all are still in use after several years. Though really, for all the benefits, I’d be willing to buy them even if I and to replace them now and then 6) no batteries. Better for me in carrying weight, better for the environment 7) the USB charge works well in both directions. I consider it a luxury touch and a peace of mind. Nice to know you have the capability to charge up, tough we’ve never felt the need to. Overall just a great product

A really useful and well designed light
With the possibility of energy cuts this winter and on seeing a number of video reviews, my wife and I decided to buy one with the intention or buying a second if the first turned out to be as good as the reviews suggest. We weren't disappointed and ordered a second so that we have one each and can move about our home independently in the event of a blackout. Usage revealed only one shortcoming, i.e. the two pressurebuttons are almost impossible to locate in the dark. The fitting of a sticky backed inexpensive clear soft plastic 10mm dome over each button provided our solution, we can easily locate and press the buttons in the dark now and the icons on each button can be viewed through the clear dome. I use mine as a bedside light and simply recharge it from sunlight through a south facing window or by using mains power via the supplied USB lead. As a footnote: expanding the light is a matter of separating parts of the side wall that have stuck together in compression when packed. A little tedious but better than trying to inflate it by mouth which, in my opinion, is a bad idea because it introduces moisture from breath that will be very difficult to remove. Just a little breath when it is opened and the side wall becomes taut. In spite of this, it's a five-star product.

Does not work
I brought one of the these in February and another in April, both of them stopped working within months of being brought. One would show a battery indicator light but you couldn't turn it off and the main solar light did not turn on again. The other lamp just stopped working suddenly altogether. This was surprising as they are supposed to be from a good brand. There were also issues returning the item for a refund because the UPS drop off said that Amazon did not supply me with all the return paperwork and would not accept the parcel. I had to contact Amazon again to resolve. Not worth buying in my opinion, they are supposed to be made to last a very long time.

Free light
Brilliant blow up LED lantern and the additional USB slot for charging items should come in handy too.

Doesn't work and I can't return it. No help from Amazon - rubbish service don't buy this.
The light works well but the charging point does not work with my phone cable and there is no way of contacting the vendor to find out how to solve this. I bought a brand new charging cable and that doen't work either. I have tried to return it via 2 drop off points. I have been sent a code and a label. they won't accept it as I should have several pages of paper work which Amazon has not sent.

cheap rubber
This Luci lamp is great for outdoor lovers. I bought this for my minivan conversion. I first charged it in the usb outlet and never have since. it does charge your phone pretty quickly if it's full, however I would only use it as an emergency charging method, as the main purpose of the lamp is to be....a lamp. I usually put in in my vehicule dash, or on top to charge during the day. in the car i can easily read a book at the lowest setting. i very rarely use the strongest setting. I don't think i've ever emptied the battery, and i would be using it for 4 to 6 hours at night, at the lowest- middle settings. took out a star because the rubber thingy that enables you to hang it broke off pretty quickly.
