Dang? I don’t know, they have really nice wicks? lol. No, I’m just kidding around. These are decent, inexpensive, good quality candles. I bought them for a little emergency backup in my small camper. I have a couple of battery power lights and we have a Coleman dual fuel lantern but sometimes candle lights are just nice. And you can’t screw up anything with a candle. No old dead batteries. No forgetting to bring fuel. Just light a match. Coughlans has always been dependable and cheap. Kinda like me. I recommend Thanks for reading

Great addition to any kit.

Great candle to add to your BOB or kit or even just to have around the house for unexpected emergencies. I carry one in my kit at all times. They add piece of mind knowing that in the event of things going wrong in the field I have these with me. Certainly not the most critical part of your kit, but definitely a strong addition. Match this with some other fire/light related gear and you will feel more secure.

Great value and great quality candles!

Great set of 5 candles. Wicks are long and the candles burn well! Not really any smell to them which got me is great. Wish the came with a holder. I use a coffee cup which works fine. Great to have in emergency situations. Plus just love the soft candlelight when playing board game while camping. Overall very pleased with my purchase! ????

Gave 4 stars because they seem sturdy and came in perfect condition but haven't used them yet. Seem to recall that this brand of candles is reputable. Will try one then purchase more if they burn well. Use for power outages, car emergency kit, and camping.

I have not had an occasion to try these candles. They appear to be sturdy enough to go in a backpack but, unfortunately, what I ordered was Pink Lady's and I am unsure how these will perform.

A just in case item.

Received my Coghlans Candles 5 pack from RainWriter just as pictured and described and with fast shipping haven't tried one yet but they seem very solid with a good size wick will be ordering more.

You will not get what is pictured...

I did not get what I ordered. As you can see by this photo these are supposed to be pink (Pink Ladys) and that is what I wanted. I can get the cheap white one at Walmart cheaper. The Pink Lady candles have been used by hikers and campers for years and have a great reputation. These are sold by the same maker, Coghlan, but don't seem to be as hard and I don't know if they will work as well. There are a couple other sellers on Amazon that still sell the Pink Lady candles so I guess I'll have to check them out

Hidden gem, found in an unlikely place.

The media could not be loaded. I specifically bought them not for their listed use, but rather spell work. Finding candles specifically for that purpose can be outrageous. These candles burn perfectly, they hardly spill over, it depends on if you’re using the right holder or not. The video; I was not but it never fell or really spilled, until the very end when it had no where else to go. I highly recommend if you partake in these these activities, save your money and time. These candles are easy to carve, and personally I “paint” mine with old eyeshadow palettes I no longer use. The glitter on the outside, doesn’t burn it melts into the wax rather it creates a beautiful shimmer. Thank you to the producers of this product, as they turned out to be more beneficial then most, marketed to this hobby.

These are great little candles and they last a good long time. I like that they are made in canada. A bit pricey but are for emergencies only.
