Nice coat
Very nice coat. I'd size up for a looser fit to layer, but its perfect for hikes up the trails. Doesn't smother you, and very flattering

Well-made but unflattering
This is a well-made raincoat, but not the one I usually reach for. My main issue is the way the hood adjusts, as I rarely carry an umbrella and NEED my hood. I prefer the option to adjust the tightness of a hood around my face, as well as the back of the hood (how low over my face I need it, depending on the severity of rain/ wind); this hood only has a back cord, with an odd placement. It also feels as though the hood isn't roomy enough, so it does not comfortably accommodate my ponytail (AKA my rainy-day 'do). The zippers are small and don't pull as smoothly as my Columbia or Marmot brand slickers, and I feel like the arm pit vents are kind of overkill. Then there is the fit of this jacket... it is NOT flattering for someone like myself who carries her extra energy stores around the middle, and it is fitted (difficult to layer under unless you size up). For sizing reference, I am 5 foot 7, 165 pounds, 36C bust with a short torso, and wear a US women's size 10. I optimistically ordered this jacket in a medium, and definitely needed a large, if not an extra large. I could BARELY zip the medium size over my wide hips, and it was skin tight even in the bust area (wearing just a bra and tank top). Even with a larger size, though, the cut of the jacket is not flattering to an apple-shaped body type. Overall, this rain jacket is well-made, but not for me. If I had it to do over, I would not have ordered it.

Love it but better for normal torso'd ladies (not petites)
I had a chance to review both the Mountain Hardware Stretch Ozonic in both the Jacket and Parka models. There are only two differences between the two raincoats -- (1) the overall length where the parka is clearly longer than the jacket and covers your rear end, and (2) an wide elastic waistband in the parka, but no waistband in the jacket. If you are below 5'2, have a very short torso, or like to layer your clothes, I would recommend the jacket over the parka because due to the waistband, the parka rides up a little bit in the torso on short girls and the zipper pooches out a little bit. That being said, if you're a normal-sized woman over 5'3, the parka is a bit more "shapely." That being said: I’ve been a Marmot raincoat person ever since my first Precip in 2012. Last year, I bought a Marmot Phoenix Evodry (MSRP $175). I’m sorry to say that this Mountain Hardware (MH) Stretch Ozonic parka (MSRP $200) easily puts my Phoenix to shame. There’s a lot to love about this jacket: - The MH is softer and it doesn’t sound like a trash bag when you move. - The MH has the same amount of pockets (three) and basically the same hood design. - I appreciate the double-zippered pit zips for ventilation but wish they were lined with mesh, rather than just being entirely open to the elements. - It has good mobility for arm movements (it does not pull up the bottom hem appreciably when you make large arm motions, although because of the waistband, the zipper may "pooch" out at the torso if you are short) - Two drawstrings in the hem on opposite sides. The less-great: - Flimsy and smallish zippers; most require two hands to operate or don’t pull smoothly in one zip (may be due to the less “structured” fabric). Also zippers are not well-covered by plackets. I will say Marmot’s covered and better quality (easier to pull) zippers are much better than the ones on the MH Stretch Ozonic. - The hood design - when pulling the cinch in the back, the cord sits on the top 1/4 of your ear. It’s a strange sensation and I haven’t managed to dispel it even during extended wears. I have a medium-sized head so I presume this happens to more women than just me. Also, the visor flap on mine is deformed so it kind of slopes down toward my forehead. I wish companies would put a wire or flexible piece of plastic in the front hood to ensure that you could get a proper fit on the hood visor, but I suppose this might also interfere with packability. Performance: Luckily, it sprinkled here recently so I was able to test it a little bit. It performed about as well as my Marmot, but without testing it in a good hour or two downpour, I’ll still reserve judgment. Fit: I’m 5’1, 36x30x36, 140 lbs and the medium fits well. Summary: The pros definitely outweigh the cons, and if you're over 5'3, this jacket is wonderful. Because it doesn’t look or entirely sound like a rain jacket, it’s a nice, versatile option as a light jacket or a windbreaker. If you’re particularly price-conscious, the Marmot Precip and Phoenix are still amazing values for the performance, but this Stretch Ozonic is certainly a contender and a really good all-around light, packable jacket. Recommended.

Nice, but not great in dusty environments
I can't say I love this parka. I ordered it for my wife in black, and within moments of her taking it out of the plastic wrap it started to very noticeably pick up dust like crazy. We live in a very dusty part of the world not far from the desert, and to make matters worse the climate is arid and we get static shocks regularly, so I suspect that the nylon from which this parka is made has a serious problem with static buildup. We have several other Mountain Hardwear items that are also made from 100% nylon and they don't suffer from this problem. Or maybe they do, but the matte black of this jacket makes it incredibly obvious. Other than that it seems up to the usual standards I expect from the brand. Great pockets (deeper than my Eyak/2 down vest), and I like the double zipper that allows you to open it up at the bottom. Without the double zipper it could be a little uncomfortable for larger women as the jacket it a little long. All in all this is a great parka, but I doubt my wife will get much use out of it as she doesn't like the fact that it looks dirty thanks to the static.

Best waterproof jacket I have had
This is the best waterproof jacket I have in my closet. It's pricy but definitely worth the money buying. I really love how light and comfortable it is. It's very lightweight as you don't feel wearing it. The fabric is nice and solid, which I tell it's made of high quality of material. You are easy to stretch your body comfortably. I frequently wear this parka because I live in Pacific Northwest where it rains a lot! This is always my first choice on rainy days. Also reason I love this because the cutting is nice. It's a slim fit jacket that is well fitted, won't make me look chubby. Highly satisfied and would love to recommend this to others! Great buy!

Needs bigger hood.
Sleeves are hard to roll up to elbows. Really keeps rain off you though.
