9" REACH NOT 18"
Sorry - probably my fault but this tool is overall 18" it does not have an 18" reach. Maybe I missed it but I don't see it clearly indicated on the product page. Was hoping to glue up the back of where two 16" shelves meet. Not quite. Might get 9.5" Oh well.

Mixed concerns
Well I bought two that I use preety much three or four times a week. And one already is worn out . It won't lock in place anymore and the other is still good. Got them on the24th of September. Who knows how long it will last you???

ITS NOT A VICE-GRIP
It will do the job that I need done but it is not a Vice-Grip.

Bad
The bolt for adjusting is bent, the threads are bad, these things are absolute garbage not even worth a dollar. I use them once and threw them away. Both pairs! Not even worth the effort to try and get a refund. Hopefully you don’t have to waste your money.

I love these pliers.
I now have about 30 of these. 20 or so of them are in holsters on my welding cart. They disappear fast so I just order to fill the vacant holes. I upon receipt take them to the paint area and shoot them with Rustoleum safety or sunburst yellow which helps spot one that is "out of place". When I need a new or replacement tool I search TEKTON first. I have never broken one of hundreds of them. The only complaint I have ever had about this brand is with the tape measure which has razor sharp edges. When I let it run through my fingers on recoil it made a bad cut. My one and only TEKTON tape measure might be one that did not get properly finished. Now I am using Irwin tapes. 25 feet long is good and at least 1 inch wide will reach out much farther than 3/4 inch tape so pay the extra for less frustration when you need the range.

Very good value
I find myself owning more and more Tekton products... I like this C-Clamp, use it when welding and for my drill press. It works good and feels sturdy, should hold up well. Anything Vise Grips I usually go with the OG Irwin products, but figured what the hell, lets try this. It's not an Irwin, but it certainly gets the Job done for half the price and I can finally afford to multiple around. That makes me happy. >> Update 1 Year and several hundred uses later, the clamp performs as it did new. IT didn't develop any play nor did it deform or rust. If I could make one suggestion, than it would be adding one of the futures of the Hanson models which is that little tab on the unlocking handle. I do find myself pinching my fingers on both the Tekton and Irwin clamps yet not on the Hanson ones. Still, I only own the Hanson because it was a gift, I would still get 2 Tektons instead of owning only one of the others :)

GOOD STUFF AT A GREAT PRICE.
I buy these in bunches for welding clamps and to hold flexible things to solid things. I most likely have about 30 of them here and there. The more useful one with the flexible pads are useful for thinner materials and for unequal distances. Normally my roll around welding cart with two welders and gas tanks sports 15 or more Tekton 6 inch clamps and the same for 4 inch C clamps hanging in rows of welded together square box steel stock holsters about 1 inch long. Eventually these things get moved here and there and the solution is to buy more. THEY GET PAINTED SUNBURST OR SAFETY YELLOW UPON ARRIVAL. For me anything yellow that is not where it belongs is obvious. You have no idea how many tools you have until you start painting them yellow where the out of place ones stand out.

... misleading (they give the length instead of mouth size like every other company does)
Listing is misleading (they give the length instead of mouth size like every other company does), but even ignoring the poorly worded first paragraphs and title that make it seem like this is a 6 inch C clamp with a 6 inch mouth with a 4.5 inch capacity (which is what 6 inches would have refered to with reputable brands), the adjustment mechanism is annoyingly loose and has to be recalibrated with every use (which is every few seconds in my application) and the lever also keeps popping out. All this being said, it was very inexpensive, and I would say that I probably got my money's worth (ish)

Awesome Awesome Awesome!!
These are amazing and at that price you can't go wrong. They are very well constructed and don't feel cheap at all. You could knock them off your bench or drop them and don't have to worry one bit. The swivel heads are great and move exactly how you would want them to. The screw tightens and loosens with ease. I just wish that Tekton made more options as I would purchase all of them. This is a steal of a deal. Tekton products seem to be getting better and better and these are a perfect example of how good there products are getting now. Do yourself a favor and don't second guess this purchase as you will pay almost double in a department store for the same thing. Fantastic product!

Adequate for many jobs.
Not so well made, as easy to adjust, as Irwin models. Also, lacks self-adjusting pads. You will need some blocks to protect surface, distribute clamping force, in some cases: tips are small. But less expensive.

I like it. It is BIG and has a big depth. The jaws are not always aligned but I can accept that almost all the time. The diagonal bridge arm (?) between the handles pops out once in a while but is easily re-positioned. Would give 5 stars if this was fixed. Recommended just because it will clamp around things other clamps can't touch and it is seriously BIG :).

Buyer beware: these are tiny pliars, deceptive advertising, slow shipment
Very deceptive, they dont give you accurate measurements of these pliars, they are tiny and not the 6 inch jaw size the seller leads you to believe. Disappointing after waiting so long for shipment. Returning.
