Good for the price but 110 blade doesnt fully cut Cat6
I haven't used the 66 blade on this item but used the 110 blade. Most of the time it will not cut Cat 6 wire in the ports that I am making. I have to work the wire back and forth to get it to come off. It's not that bad I just hope that the electrical connection is being made OK. I'll be doing about 40 of these ports plus about 40 at the patch panel so 320 punch downs. I've only done a few so far and I don't expect the additional work of getting the wire to release will be too bad. Definitely not a problem if you only do a few of these from time to time...assuming the electrical connection is good.

Great value
Despite the low price, the tool is pretty decent. I was able to punch down a couple dozen jacks with little effort. As other reviewers have mentioned, the blade is not the best; the 110 side didn't always cut the wire end cleanly on the first punch. If I pulled the end tight, though, it worked well enough most of the time, or at least nicked the wire enough that I could bend and break it off. I suspect that a blade cartridge from a higher-end tool would fit, though. The tool itself doesn't feel cheap at all, the spring action is solid. I'm glad I bought this instead of a much more expensive tool.

Great value, great tool.
In the past, I have only used the plastic punch down tool with pathetic results. I needed to put in a 12 plug patch panel and was afraid it would be a painful process. This tool worked perfect every time. It has an adjustable "ratchet" that ensures a complete punch-down and it then cuts off all the extra. Simply ensure the cutting edge is point the right direction, place over the wire in the slot and apply pressure until it pops. Again, be careful and ensure the plat is point out toward the excess wire, not in toward the live wire. If it doesn't fall off completely, just wiggle a little and it will.

seems solid
Only used it a couple of times but seems pretty solid, good deal if it holds up for the long haul.

Works well
Used with Shaxon cat5e keystones... It worked well for my home (about 40 keystones). Impact style so easy on the hands. Decent though not great blade. adjustable (basically set it on max and moved on) If you are going to wire your house this is a good buy, if you are a contractor i would hope there is something better.

Almost there!
I almost like it. Very ergonomic. The hook and pusher... "Spudger" are nice. The hook is a bit agressive. The blade is not very sharp! I found myself having to impact a punch block many times to cut a wire. I swapped the tip with my southwire tool and the southwire blade in the monoprice tool cut first impact every time. I have not tried sharpening the blade but I feel like it is more of an issue with theetal they used rather than the sharpness.

No need to spend a lot to get good results with this punch down.
It's inexpensive, and works well. Only problem is the hook and poke tools will open up on their own sometimes, in a tool bag or pouch. They are handy though, especially when working in packed racks. Accepts ordinary dies. Punches down satisfactorily on low setting, I haven't needed the high setting.

Looks like a nice tool.
I won't be using the tool until the weather is nicer. Biggest part of the job will be threading the wire through the old house. I hope that when I start connecting the wire that the tool will make this part of the job easier..

Junk! Not well made at all.
I bought this to work on an old Western Electric 551c KSU that uses the classic 66 blocks. This tool was out of tolerance and was too tight when I had it over the 66 blocks. I have now returned it to Amazon.

Really nice punch down tool for the price
This punch down tool is a great buy. I does not feel cheap at all. The plastic is very sturdy and has a rubber grip. It does what it is designed to do. The blade end sometimes doesn't cut off the extra wire ends, but that could be my mistake in pushing down at a wrong angle. However, that's not a big deal because with a little twist, the wire end will break off easily.

Excellent Punch Tool!
This Monoprice-branded punch tool is of excellent quality and comes with the 110 and 66 block blades (once unit, flips over). Monoprice traditionally offers great products, its just their shipping times that are terrible. If you can wait for the delivery, the quality is worth it!

Punch down tool ... Great purchase !!
I needed a good punch down tool and saw this one. Ordered it and shipping was fast. I did all my runs and this tool worked great !! Used the low setting on all my keystones as that is all that's necessary to make the connections. Cuts the excess on installation. Great buy !!
