Pull Bar

Love the bar, everything in our new bathroom is Moen by Kingsley all chrome! But the pull bars are a different color than the chrome on all of our towel bars. Why? I am disappointed the chrome looks brassy in the pull bars!.

Worked fine, but had to modify length

No problems or complaints with the product. It was well built as you would expect for a $60 grab bar. I needed non-standard length bars. (No studs are on 12" centers. Come on!) So I shortened several of the bars with no problem. If you want to do that, you will need: - 5mm hex head allen wrench - A hacksaw - Center punch like you would use to mark a hole to be drilled in metal - Hammer 1. Remove the two machine screws visible inside one of the mounting plates using the allen wrench and then remove all the other parts at that end of the bar. You will see a solid black metal plug inserted into the end of the tube. The tube has 4 dimples where the black metal plug is inserted. These dimples lock the tube to the black metal plug. Remove the two base plate covers that hide the mounting brackets (the mounting brackets are what you attach to the wall) and keep separately for now. 2. Cut the tube on the end where you removed all the components how ever many inches that you want to shorten the bar. I cut 8" off my 24" bar so that I would have a 16" bar. 3. Take the short piece that you cut (8" in my case) and cut it again 1-1/4" from where the plug is inserted. After cutting you will be able to easily see where the plug fits into the tube since there is only a 1-1/4"" section of tube to cover it. 4. Now cut the 1-1/4" tube lengthwise so that after cutting you can easily pry the tube from the plug. 5. Next, clean up the edges of the tube that you are keeping (the 16" section in my case) and then insert the plug into that tube, seating it firmly into the tube as far as it will go. Make sure the two holes at the end of the black plug line up with the mounting plate at the other end. 6. Use the center punch to make dimples into the end of the tube on top of the plug that had been inserted into the tube. This locks the metal plug in the tube like before. 7. Finally, reassemble the parts that you removed in step 1 and use the two allen head machine screws to reattach the mounting plate back on the bar and. Done!

Screws to short for ceramic tile installation

Installed on angle in bathtub/shower over ceramic tile. Liked the style and finish. Disliked the short screws as 1/2 inch longer screws would be more secure over a ceramic tile installation. Screws are cheap compared to the expensive grab bar. Also disliked the inability to remove the mounting flanges to help align over 1-1/2 inch wide stud to get three screws into the wood.

It's not chrome.

Or at least it's not the same chrome as every other Moen Kingsley product I bought for the bathroom, such as 2 different style towel racks and the TP holder. This looks more like polished nickel than chrome. I sent it back because it looked out of place. All of that said, it looks plenty sturdy, it's just not chrome.

was crooked, defective

I am sorry MOEN, but this piece should never have left your QC. It could not be installed flush against the wall because two pieces inside were off center. I returned it and got my money back, but the 3 hours while the plumber tried to still make it work is costing me way more than the price of this piece. I will think twice before ordering anything MOEN again.
