Easy to install

I honestly hope that the Moen quality I'm used to is still there because whomever came up with the new installation system should be fired. Incredibly easy to install, it takes less than 5 min. A nightmare to remove it. It took me almost an hour to remove one of the holders, because let's be honest, how can you push a microscopic hard plastic clip that does not bend, trough a small hole while pulling to unclip it is beyond me. Whatever you are using to push the clip gets in the way. The only reason I managed is because I damaged the clip enough that it gave up. I was honestly beginning to plan to cut the dry wall to get it out. I would buy it again because I love Moen and never had problems with their products. I would however change my current "yes it looks nice there" modus operandi for the installation, with weeks worth of careful planning and mock installation to make sure it will be installed only once and stay there for the rest of the house lifetime.

20" long installed (18" is just the rod length)
A bit expensive for what it is but looks nice and matches the other products I purchased from the Brantford Collection. Only issue I have is that the 18" length noted in the product description is the length of the rod itself, not the full length of the towel holder once installed. The end pieces add 1" on both ends for a total length of 20". I only have 19" to work with in the powder room where this will be installed. Fortunately, the rod is hollow and we should be able to cut it to length with a pipe cutter...

I am seldom impressed with products of this nature, but the mounting system for this is very well done and very sturdy. It was a snap to install. Very happy with the quality.

Looks good but very poor mounting system.....
I’ve always liked Moen products. I’ve used them on many home renovations over the years. I was torn between 5 stars for looks and 1 star for the mounting system....so 3 stars.... First, these look and feel great. Well made. I purchased this same style for 4 bathrooms in a home in Georgia and then again for two bathrooms in Maine. I used to complain about the little screws used to attach the unit to the wall. I take it all back. The new system is horrible. In Georgia, they at least used a metal attachment for the wall. By the time I moved to Maine, it was a plastic screw. Secondly, don’t ever plan on taking them off the wall......so if you ever plan on painting the room, do it first. You can attempt to press in a little plastic piece at the base of the unit, but that will ruin it and can’t be used again. Make certain you have the holes properly placed in the wall. Any mistake will be time consuming to fix. Make sure you tighten the screw through the wall sufficiently before attaching the rod. Tighten beyond what the instructions state. If not tight enough and the unit loosens, good luck trying to fix. When you attach the unit to the wall, you should hear a click. But that doesn’t always happen (be sure to insert the top first, and then press the bottom against down against the wall with a good amount of pressure)....and if you hear the click, you’ll have a goon connection. Moen, please bring back the small screws. I know you’re trying to cut costs, but I’d rather you raise the price a couple dollars.

Very nice. Had to make a slight modification to avoid the bar from spinning.
It looks nice. I haven't had to remove it so I haven't had the experience unclipping it that some other reviewers have had. To ensure it doesn't spin and let towels fall, like other viewers have mentioned, I used a hack saw and easily made to cross cuts in one end of the bar -- in the shape of a + sign. That allowed the bar to slip over the matching + protrusions inside of the receiver. So my bar does not rotate. As for the anchor that some reviewers had problems with, I had no problem at all. It is an excellent anchor, the double, spring loaded wing type that pop open behind the wall board. Perhaps this is an upgrade over previous models. Otherwise I can't understand how folks had it pull out of the wall unless they were chinning themselves from the bar.
