It's a towel bar

Looks great, and does what it was meant to do. Made well by today's standards, but a child pulling on the towel may eventually break this thing.

Base plate is PLASTIC.

Bar is a pretty design and nice finish. But don't hang a damp bath towel on it. Pops off onto the floor. The base plates used to be metal and the bar was attached with a set screw. Now it is plastic and the bar SNAPS ON! Yes, another case of "let's use plastic and save money" POS Don't buy.

Great quality

I bought these towel bars to be curtain rods for side panels on my bedroom window. Because they were mostly covered and way up high, I bought these for the price. I was, however, amazed at the quality of the towel bars. They were top of the line kind of towel bars - very nice. They were also dead-easy to install. All in all a great deal.
