The metal coloring leaves a lot to be desired, everything else is great
Moen, I know you know how to make a great brushed nickel finish, why not offer it on your shower seats? This finish is not "Chrome" or "Stainless" as listed on various sites, it can best be described as "Grey" and while the finish quality is great the color matches literally no other fixtures in anyone's bathroom, anywhere. The good news is that the frame and materials are solid, after reviewing other options available in brushed nickel it seems they all have issues including warping plastic covers and cheap brackets which can eventually fail, causing damage and/or injury. I'll take this Moen seat over that possibility any day. The specifications / drawings of this seat are lacking a bit of info. For those who don't happen to have studs for mounting in the perfect spots and are able to add blocking, the bottom two mounting holes are 2" above the top of the seat, the next hole(s) up from that are 7" from the bottom holes and the top holes are 4" above the middle holes (11" from the bottom holes). The side to side hole spacing is 16" with slotted holes on one side to give you about 1/8" of fudge room with your drill skills . The included screws are 3" long.

sturdy and stylish
We have put this seat in 2 bathroom remodels. It's well-made, sturdy, and stylish. It holds a weight of 300-350. We like the fold-down style so it doesn't take over the room unless it's needed. Very good choice!

LOVE IT!
Wanted a seat for my elderly father's new shower. This was the perfect solution. Nicely tucks away when not in use and holds up to 400lbs. I did have it professionally installed by the contractors who did the shower. Great quality, great price. Highly recommend.

Love this shower seat!
This shower seat is of excellent quality - very good materials and was perfect for our shower upgrade. We love it. We much preferred it to the host of others we looked at - quite sturdy and great appearance. Comfort isn't an issue - what can you say about a wooden bench!?!

Well Built...will last for a long time
It takes some care to install but Moen makes it as easy as possible with 16 in. spacing on the wall bracket. The hardest part is locating the near center of the studs under the shower tile, but once that is done and the provided screws driven into the studs, the result is a rock solid mount. Also, the seat snugly folds up so that it does not accidentally flop down if the user chooses to shower while standing. ps. If, by chance, your shower does not have 16 inch spacing on the studs, it will take a bit of reconstruction to install additional studs behind the tile surface.

Well made. Attractive. Be advised before you buy.
Picked this up for just under $200 Amazon Warehouse. Prime got it to me in well under 48 hours. As is true 99% of the time with Amazon Warehouse, the item is brand new in every way. At least that is true for me and I use the Warehouse frequently. Extremely well made. Strong. Should last longer than me. Nice size. Keep in mind it has to be screwed to wall studs on a 16" center. Not a big deal, you say, every house has 16" centered studs. Not true but that isn't the real problem. The real problem is having your studs line up with where you want to place this, normally the center of a shower end wall. In other words, find the center point of where you want to hang this, then see if you have a wall stud centered 8" to the right of that mark and then another 8" to the left. How likely is that? Not. Open up the wall opposite the shower and install backing boards? A couple of spanning 2x's (redwood, cedar?) laid horizontally inside the shower and screwed to the noncooperative vertical wall studs (the seat then screwed to the horizontal boards)? In fact, we're talking a product best suited to new construction and even then we're talking holes in your shower wall. The teak is unfinished, dull or if you prefer flat, and somewhat coarse and left so will weather a still rougher gray. I'm going to coat mine with either Danish oil (which I keep around) or teak oil which I'll have to buy, rubbing in multiple coats to give the wood a bit of a sheen and slightly soften it to the touch. Either will have to be periodically reapplied. Another reviewer used polyurethane which is arguable, you can Google teak, water, and finishes to see why, just keep in mind boating applications (of which you will see many) involve a lot of uv trauma which shouldn't be an issue in your shower. In any event, I'm going to take the boards off before oiling to encourage long term consistency and more consistent protection protection. This is probably overkill for an oil but if you decide to go poly or varnish, as opposed to an oil, you should seriously consider doing the same as the finish won't bind to the frame and you will have a series of invisible lines (at least initially) that will lead to water seeping under the poly or varnish. Finally, and why I gave this thing only four stars, is the frame. It is indeed sturdy and well finished. No rough edges, no paint flaws, mechanically sound. However, the paint is the rub. When I looked at the picture and read the frame is aluminum, I envisioned a polished metal frame, akin to the stainless in my new master bath. No. The frame is painted. Silver gray. By all appearance, powder coated. Again, nice enough, but it matches nothing in the standard bath. And, unless you have a bath the size of a living room, this thing is going to be one of the more prominent features. So, if your wall studs are exactly where they need to be, gray (as to the metal and the soon to weather teak) fits your motif, and drilling six holes in your shower wall is acceptable, this thing is perfect. Otherwise, it's a very well designed and well manufactured seat that requires major tweaking prior to installation.

You won't find anything better
This was awfully expensive, but we needed a folding bench seat for our tiny front door area for older folks to put their shoes on. We tried ordering only hardware, rated for 350lbs https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07RKN2T14/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 These buckled with only 160lbs on them. We researched other products and they were ALL expensive but the reviews on this one, the recognized brand name, and the fact that this was the best price we could find drove us to choosing it. We were NOT sorry. Easy installation and sturdy as can be! The wood is unfinished which, I gather, is okay for teak. It can handle water (which is why it's marketed as a shower seat). If you want a nice finish you can use teak oil, but it would get on clothes for our purposes, so we won't bother. It's odd to have unfinished wood but, as far as quality, we are thrilled. The price feels less painful when we're confident in our purchase. Definitely install in studs in the wall.
