Stopped my leak in the shower.

Broke on install
The plastic part that connects to the brass end piece broke where the tab is on install. May have been user error but there is only one way to install so not sure what caused it. Like most parts the plastic is cheap and breaks easily. Ordered another to try again.

I have an Adler, so I was surprised to find the Chateau series cartridge was what I needed.
Easy...screw out the old...screw in the new. Simple.

Exellent
Installed in a 30 year old shower faucet that had about 60-80% water going out the spout and barely any shower .It took forever to shower..Have been trying various shower heads thinking it would fix the problem, non worked.. Ten minutes with this replacement kit installed, it is now a trickle out the spout with excellent shower pressure/volume. I have an on demand water heater, was able to turn down the heater temp., this will probably save me $$ per month on electric bill. Why did i wait so long? 3/4 inch socket or box end wrench and Philips screwdriver total tools involved.

Broken packaging
The packaging was broken twice. The first order I got only had the o ring in it. But once I got the product it worked as expected

Almost perfect fix
Fixed 99% of the water leak out of the faucet. Most now goes to the shower head. I finally have water pressure coming out of the shower head again. I don’t know why I didn’t replace it sooner.

Fixes the issue, for a while....
This is the 3rd time I'm replacing this item in my son's bathroom. The issue is that it keeps seizing up if you don't turn it every so often. The reason it keeps seizing up is because I was very hard water where I live. So calcium and other metals buildup inside the valve stem. Although replacing the valve fixes the problem, the problem will arise again. I've greased and re-greased the brass end, but it keeps seizing up. I decided to "modify" it so that this issue will go away once and for all. What I have done this time is remove the brass end of the stem by drilling out the rivet that holds the brass and plastic ends together. Afterwards, I install the plastic stem along with the brass packing nut and extension stem. So that my son can use the shower, I removed the spigot and replaced with a cheap spigot with a 'pull-up' diverter. The whole cost to do this was about $25. The only other way to fix this and prevent the issue from arising again is by: A. Installing a whole home water softener system (which can cost well over a thousand) B. Replacing the manifold and all valves (which will cost a couple of hundred)
