Standard product I like, but be prepared for mishaps

Fairly standard recessed TP holder. IF YOU ARE INSTALLING A RECESSED FOR THE FIRST TIME, you will also need to get the piece that holds it in the wall (no idea what it's called). This only comes with screws, which were too short to attach to the holder I already had. Also, the screw holes didn't align with my preexisting holder. I ended up making a new hole in the holder, then used the old screws, as they were long enough. Also, there are no instructions, which can prove problematic if you've never installed one of these before. Otherwise, it looks nice and does its job properly! Happy with my purchase.

Best toilet paper holder

I love this paper holder. It allows you more space by recessing the roll. Overall clean and simple look.

No Mounting Bracket

My holder did not arrive with any kind of mounting bracket, just two screws. I am not sure if it is supposed to be included or not since the info here only mentions one item included in the box. If you are replacing a holder and have a cavity in your wall it is nearly impossible to insert a mounting board into the wall that is already covered with sheet rock. To see what I mean, watch this installation video on [...] The good news is, I called Moen's toll free number on the box (800-882-0116) and they said the bracket is supposed to be included and are sending me an entire new unit. The tech was very friendly and apologized for the missing parts. New holder and bracket is being shipped to me free of charge. The quality is accurately depicted by the two reviews above, the spindle that holds the paper is made out of plastic - not that it matters. I would be curious to see if other buyers had the same problem or not. I am happy with the way it looks and will look forward to getting it mounted on the wall. Moen is known for its quality, hopefully this was just an isolated incident.

Nice holder - works as advertised.

For some reason the new house I bought had no toilet paper holder in the guest bathroom, but there was obviously room in the vanity to put in a unit like this. In that case, the Moen 588 Donner Clamp was essential in order to mount it. I just drilled four large holes at the corner of a 5"x5" square, and then used a jigsaw to cut out the square. In addition to the clamp, you will need some nuts and bolts (the slot was a bit too narrow for #8, so I used a # screw with a washer). Final result was absolutely perfect.

Looks great and wife loves it!

Recently painted our bathroom and am replacing all of the hardware in it too, so I purchased this. It's better quality than our old one, but the holes in the back don't match up to the old one. My old one clamps to the wall using a bar that tightens against the drywall and this one uses two screws that are supposed to go into a piece of wood. My house was built in 1979 and they don't have a bar of wood. I had to drill another hole in the bar clamp of the original and use that with a nut and bolt to tighten in. Took some time, but looks great and I am pleased with my purchase.

Moen should make it clear you need an interior wall clamp as well

There's nothing special about this Moen toilet paper holder. The roller is plastic despite reviews by other buyers on Amazon who indicated theirs was chrome. You need a clamp to install it, which doesn't come with the unit. I bought the Moen 588 Donner Clamp, which worked fine. I also bought the Moen BR587 Donner Clamp, which is pretty much useless and still sitting in its box. The clamp I used works fine as long as you start the screws through the paper holder and then just about a half inch into the clamp. As you tighten the screws, the clamp is pulled toward the holder but since it is larger than the hole you made in the sheetrock, it holds fast.

Too tight

The dispenser was as described and looks nice; however the dispenser doesn’t stick out far enough for large rolls of toilet paper to roll freely. A new large roll fits on the dispenser barely and must be manually turned until enough has been removed for it to actually roll.

Great product. Would recommend. A+++

Great product. Just installed it and it was a breeze. I marked the two holes and the sides and rough top of the unit and cut through the gyproc with my drywall saw. The screws don't hold anything so I made sure to make the hole tight and fixed it with some caulking. Solid as a rock, looks great, and saves us space in our small bathroom!

Not exactly as pictured

The photo shows matching caps or covers for the mounting screws. Mine did not include these. (The screws were way too long (1-1/4") for my installation which was to a 5/8" board.) Everything else appears as shown and looks great. (The surround is solid metal; but the rod is very light-weight, probably coated plastic.)

Perfect fit.

Fit perfect into the tissue holder I had before in the basement. I made sure to measure my old piece and this unit was to the exact sizing. It is a shiny all metal base holder with a silver plating over the plastic tissue bar. You may have to polish up with a cloth often for finger prints.

Wow what a great toilet roll holder.. yep I'm reviewing a toilet roll holder. Good quality, easy to install. Nice and shiny.
