Strong material
I searched and I could not find the perfect fire tool. I grill and BBQ every week and I was looking for the perfect fire tool to move my fire. I found this fireplace tool and I love it. The material, length and weight are perfect for my use. I treated the tool twice so it doesn't rust and it hasn't. If you're like me and need a tool to move your fire around without burning your arms, this is the tool for you!

Perfect gift for dad
My dad raves about how much easier it is to get coals and ashes out of his wood burning fireplace since having this, whatever it’s called lol. I’m not sure, but he sure does love it

Love it
After dealing with an ash shovel that constantly had loose handles, using this hoe to rake ash and embers out of my wood stove is much easier. I like the wrought iron one-piece handle construction. The hoe is attached with rivets and so far seems sturdy. It would be perfect if it was entirely one piece and the hoe was a bit wider.

Quality workmanship - great price
I bought this because we replaced our biomass (wood burning) stove. The new one has a much bigger firebox and burns at a much higher temp because it is a soapstone stove. These two qualities mean that after an over-night burn of a full firebox of wood there is a large amount of red-hot coals with some ash. Before you can kindle another fire you need to rake those coals to get rid of most of the ash. In my old stove we just used an old BBQ spatula but it was too weak and wasn't up to the higher temps of the new stove. Luckily I came across Minuteman International. This tool is quality - the handle is smooth with no rough spots or burns. It is a beautiful work of art if you take a moment to appreciate it. The blade is set at a 90 degree angle to the handle which gives maximum leverage in use. The weld where the blade and handle come together is impressively done - I don't see that failing anytime soon. With this tool I can rake down a firebox half full of coals in no time and neither the tool nor me are any the worse off by it! ;) I truly recommend not only this product but it's makers - I'm very impressed.

We have an EPA certified Harman tl 300 stove and love it. Had a lot of trouble with forcing ashes down and raking coals forward with conventional fireplace tools. Plus, kept getting burned on hot surfaces. This tool does perform both functions, however, as observed by other posters, it is unnecessarily UNDERSIZED. As given, it is about 4 inches across by 3 inches (2 3/4) depth rectangle of bent metal in other words an L with a 28 inch rod welded to it (on the inside against the smaller surface.) It would be much more useful stretched out to 5+ inches with 4 inches in bended metal. It wouldn't hurt access at all. The problem with our Harman is that the bottom surface including the grates (mildly inclined) present bumps and uneven surface falls, so its hard to manouver. My recommendation would be to make your own if you know how to weld. The L-metal rectangle corners are rounded for safety. There appears to be no current alternative on the market. Correction, maybe Ash Hoe and Rake, Stainless steel, 34 inches long by Durwin Enterprises?

Great Quality!
We bought this to replace the 100 year old ash rake on our wood cook stove. My wife and I are happy with this and hope it will last another 100 years. I definitely recommend this item!

Perfect Ash Hoe for my wood stove...
Perfect Ash Hoe for my wood stove...just received it from the seller and arrived earlier then expected ! I'd been using a poker to try to separate ash from coal and it was just not the correct tool... I just tried it today on a fire that had burned down to just ash and the hoe was fantastic in bringing the hot coals to the top and leaving the ash underneath... some reviews said it's too small. it is not if using on a wood stove in your house... maybe small for an outdoor fire pit... Very well made and heavy duty... I will never have to buy another, it will last a lifetime. And long enough that your hand does not get hot from coals, which to me seem hotter then a flame... great way to restart your fire without having to completely rebuild the firebox..

Excellent!
Great value! Used daily this ash hoe will last several lifetimes. Nice long handle keeps your hand out of the firebox on even the deepest stoves!
