Saved my air hose from the trash

The dreaded hissing sound of an air hose that has given years of service can ruin your day! Especially when it has fitting attached mechanically when they made it. A few weeks before I threw away another much newer hose because of the same issue and was determined to save this one. If I knew it was as simple as cutting the bad section out and a filling that didn’t use a pipe clamp to attach I could have saved another hose. With this fitting it almost look like it was done in the factory. Nothing to catch on or cut yourself like a pipe clamp would and can withstand the pressure and not blow off the hose. Everyone should have one of these on standby in their shop or tool box.

Perfect fit, NO LEAKS!

I have a 100 foot hose which for most of what I do was overkill. So I cut my Metabo/Hitachi hose into two at 33 feet and 66 feet. Soaked the cut ends in boiling water then assembled the ends on and now I have a shorter hose for when I’m in one room and a longer hose if I’m working in a whole house. Leaving the hose plugged in I never here the compressor come on so there are no leaks!
