Extremely sturdy

Well made and appears to be durable. We needed this particular weather strip for door bottom. We were unable to find this exact one locally.

Reasonably good quality, but rain drip drags and gets caught under door.

Replaced with the same type that was probably on my door since new. Easy to install by removing the door and using the existing screws. I had to trim about half inch off the end and I also used a bead of caulk to be sure of good contact. Upon completing the job, all of about half hours work, noticed that the rain drip makes contact with the threshold and drags back in under the door, luckily my front door is fairly well covered so not a lot of rain gets to it. See how long it lasts but next time will look for one that has a higher rain drip to avoid drag.

Great replacement for an aluminum storm door

Like many things today I couldn’t get a replacement bottom door seal for an aluminum storm door. So I adapted this to work with a few pop rivets.

I couldn't get this to work -- bound up in the hinge corner

There's a lip that slides over the long-edge of the door and then the strip almost snaps into place. The lip is very thin and it's difficult to get the strip to stay in the correct position without the lip rolling under. The strip is actually quite thick, so it's hard to nail through. The nails need to be inserted between the fins, and it's nearly impossible to get the nails (not provided) flush with the bottom of the door since the fins are rigid enough that a hammer blow can't pound in the nails all of the way. I tried splaying open the fins, but that put my fingers right next to the nail and therefore the hammer head couldn't hit the nail without also hitting my fingers. Once I finally managed to get the nails in flush (I only cursed twice), and managed to get my heavy front door back on its hinges (use a buddy to help you!), I quickly discovered that the strip was too thick on the hinge side/corner because the fins there couldn't lay flat but instead almost stacked on top of one another. (I'm not sure this is making sense!) The problem wasn't that the gap was too narrow for the strip. The problem was that the plastic/rubber material the fins are made up got bound up in the hinge corner. Note that the strip was exactly the correct length of my door -- it wasn't too long. I tried cutting it back, but that then left a gap along the bottom of the door -- which was the very problem I was trying to solve. It could be that my door is all out of whack and you'll be fine, but I found it impossible to use this product, and after cutting it and putting nail holes in it there's no way to return it.

Cheaply made does not last

The strips at the bottoms stated to break after a few months. Not a very reliable product and difficult to attach…now have to do it again!
