Good EDC/Work/Mom/Dad bag
I've had this bag for about a month and a half and I wanted to give it a good 'go' before writing a review. The Maxpedition Entity series is designed for those who wish to have a 'gray-man' appearance that doesn't attract attention. This bag is CCW compatible, but I personally do not use that feature so I cannot speak to it. I've adopted the gray-man/woman philosphy of blending into my surroundings. Where I work a lot of people carry backpacks, and as a Mom I see a lot of moms with backpacks when they are out with their kids. So If you want a backpack that blends in with the crowd, and is well organized - read on. Pros: VERY well made. Maxpedition makes quality gear, with quality materials so you can expect your stuff to handle everyday rigors of commutes, Mommin', backpacking, and even an emergency situation. The YKK zippers have not stuck, gotten jammed, or failed me yet - they were a little 'tough' to use at first but they work well now. I really like the zipper pulls, they look big and chunky but it's easy to just slip a finger or thumb in and yank the bag open. The outside and inside storage compartments and pockets are very convenient. One thing I really like is how the inside pockets are almost transparent so you can get an idea of what's in the compartment without having to dig through it. Initially I was going to use an outside compartment for storing my wallet, but chose to put it on the inside to thwart pickpockets. The outside compartments carry my inhaler, flashlight, plastic bags, a small first aid kit, a door wedge, and will contain my NARCAN kit once I finish that training. Fit on my back: it's comfortable to wear (but see cons), and the load is distributed evenly, and slips on easily when wearing a winter coat. This is why it only gets 4 stars instead of 5...Cons: price. Yes I know this one is pricey but given the features and craftsmanship it's a worthwhile investment. Shoulder straps - these need more padding and dig into my arms and armpit area a little bit. This may ease over time as the shoulder straps break in. Maxpedition really needs to pad the straps more. I also cannot easily slip a water bottle onto one of the outside pockets - especially if I have gear loaded in the zippered compartments. I wish this pocket was mesh and expandable to carry a water bottle easier. For now I just carry my water on the inside and hope it doesn't leak. So that's it for now folks...I hope this has helped you make a decision on whether to take the plunge and purchase this bag. I want to also note that Maxpedition has not contacted me to write a review - I'm writing this purely as a user of the bag.

3 years of use so far
I have been using this as a daily carry for work, weekend carry for kids items and on trips as our main carry. For work I have used it daily to bring materials with my to see clients and carry my pc. It has done well, it is rigid but still looks new after three years of daily use. With the kids on weekend this has survived water parks, theme parks, and camping. Nothing has broken and it keeps everything dry in rain or even on splash mountain in Disneyland. The water resistance is impressive. The outside is completely wet and the drink holders are filled with water but inside it stays dry. When coming back from camping I use a hose and spray it off and it looks new. No stains, no rips, and frayed edges. Works well. Only problem I can see is if you had a large labtop over 15 inches it might be hard to get it in. Otherwise it’s great and has been very comfortable even on a hike down the Grand Canyon.

Good quality
I have numerous Maxpedition items, and like the others, the quality overall is excellent. I wanted a small backpack/bag for overnight business trips where I don't need much in the way of clothing, and thought that I could bring a laptop and some business materials and the clothes in the same bag. This bag will certainly do that, but the laptop pocket is at the bottom (front) of the backpack, so you can't really get the laptop or business papers out unless you remove some of your clothes...awkward in a business meeting. And I was disappointed to discover that the CCW pocket does not open wide enough to slip in a 13" laptop, which seems a major oversight--who can CCW when flying? If that pocket zipper was about an inch longer, my laptop would fit in nicely. A better design for this item would be to have a side-opening sleeve with room for a laptop and a few papers, just in front of the CCW pocket. And the inside pocket could be removed. I would also note that I originally ordered the Entity 27 backpack, which is huge--way too big for use as an overnight bag. I returned it for this one. The 21 is a good size and is well made. It is more of a travel bag than an EDC bag, because the pocket spaces are limited. There are side pockets on each side of the main compartment, but they won't hold much.

Versatile and has handgun pouch
I bought this cause I needed a carry backpack. It is great for that purpose and fits small to med frame autos. It has great storage. I don't like the way it distributes the weight, it seems to hang lower on the back than high on the shoulders. Maxpedition makes great stuff, and it is a quality bag.

Lesson learned here.
The outside is nice and well built but what is the point if there is no way to secure the main pocket? I am returning. So I am updating this review. Customer Service really came through and now I am glad to support this brand. I am now a loyal customer.

Internal organization
Smaller bag than what I am used to. Using this as a diaper bag. The side pockets hold wipes well and even a small bottle. Have to buy more pockets for internal organization, only down side.

Love this bag so far.
Just got my bag in today and excited to load it up. First impressions are i love it. Has everything i was looking for for an edc/toddler bag. Has room for my edc and things for my little one. Pleanty of pockets. Internal drink pockets. External drink pockets. Truely love this bag. And maxpedition is known for well made products.

I love this backpack
I love this backpack, the only thing I don't like is that you can't use the water bottle holders if you put too much stuff in the side pockets.
