Difficult for seniors to put on
I bought this for my 95-year old father who has a knee that needs replaced, but no one will touch him bedause of his age. The item works, but my dad has a hard time putting it on, so it does not get used much.

Hey, it actually fits!
Every year I have to spray weed killer along the fence lines of my 200 acre farm. Since there are lots of slopes, and the utility vehicle with which I carry the sprayer tank can not handle some of the slopes, I have to scramble up and down them while dragging the spray nozzle and 50 feet of hose. Every year this does in my knee -- pain, swelling, tight tendons. In the past I have used an Ace wrap-around knee support, but I decided I should get something better that utilizes stays or hinges. I tried the McDavid, measuring my leg and ordering the size recommended on their website. It would not even go up onto my leg. So I ordered the next larger size. It was so large it just fell off my leg. So I ordered this one, using the sizing information given in Donna's review below and also in one of the pictures above. When I tried it on, it actually fit! However I could not bend my leg more than a few degrees. After closer inspection, I realized that, unlike the Ace, this one is placed on the back of the knee first, and then the velcro is fastened on the front. After proper installation, I found that the leg bends fine, but no more than 105 degrees - about the same as a properly functioning replacement knee (my other leg). This is not a problem unless you need to squat or climb a ladder. There is a thick rubberized Maxar emblem attached to the end of one of the straps, which makes it difficult to get the strap in and out of the buckle. One reviewer for a different Maxar item said he carefully cut the emblem off, but I found that it only requires a firm tug of the strap to get it through the buckle. I haven't worn it long yet, but it is comfortable and seems to make my knee fairly secure and steady. Now if I can just remember to put it on BEFORE I start climbing slopes next year.... Well, here it is 4-1/2 years later (03/2017). As my knee continues to deteriorate I have been using this brace more and more often, almost daily. It seems to still be in perfect condition and still really helps me. In fact, I just ordered another in case this one eventually dies....

Center is not adjustable.
Based on the stated measurements, ordered a small. Unfortunately the center portion, which contains the hinges, is not designed for a small knee and cannot be adjusted to a smaller size. As a result, returned it.

looks great but I can't figure out how to put it on...no directions came with it. I had my PT show me how to put it on twice but it is hard to do it when alone...a video did not help because it did not show all the straps.

Love this Knee Brace!
I have been looking for a knee brace that I like for quite some time and have tried several. I love the fact that this one opens in the front of the knee, it's not a pull on, and it's very easy to adjust. I've worn pull on neoprene braces for a while they have a tendency to slide down and have to be adjusted frequently. This one adjusts from the front and is easy to put on AND take off. I wish they had not made the logo so thick because it does sometimes get caught in buckle/ring/not sure what to call this. I wear these for mowing, yard work, hiking and any time I know I'm going to be walking a lot. They work great with shorts and loose pants but I don't like wearing th eww m with jeans. I would definitely buy again.

Returned it
Could not get the brace to fit comfortably regardless of how I positioned it. So, I sent it back and used an ace bandage instead which did just fine for my needs.

Good Knee Brace
I've been using this for about two weeks now and it seems like a good product. It's easy to put on and it holds securely with the hook and loop straps. The upper strap comes with a MAXAR logo which makes the upper strap hard to feed through the plastic buckle. Fortunately, it's sewn on and is easily removed with a pocket knife.

Good for minor injuries and short term use
Good brace - however, it is difficult to place and somewhat uncomfortable. Did the job though. For serious problems I would suggest getting one from somewhere where you can have it professionally fitted. This one kept slipping down so I had to wear very loose pants so I could adjust it in public.

unable to use because the top of y leg is too large and the brace kept sliding down even though I put it as tight as possible. very disappointed but i am sure it would be great for people with smaller thigh dimension
