Somewhat unflattering fit

This T-shirt has weird sizing. I normally wear a MED, am not very overweight, and I have fairly long arms. Now the arm length is fine, and the shoulder-to-shoulder seam is about right, but the body section fits like a slim-fit T-shirt, if there is something like that. So unless you are ripped and have 3.5% body fat, the fit is unflattering: brings out your love handles and your nipples stick out. On top of that, I heard the fabric shrinks! I can't order a size up to LARGE as the sleeves would be too long and shoulder seams drooping over your upper arm. As others have mentioned, the fabric is not true heavyweight but a solid mid-weight. I am wearing these in summer in a tropical climate so that is fine. Haven't washed one yet so pondering whether I should return 'em.

reasonable value for the price

Comparing these to other long-sleeve T-shirts I own: Size: I am 5'6" and 154 lbs. I need a medium in these, and they are sized almost identical to the small size LLBean. Fabric: the fabric quality is decent but not nearly as heavy as my LLBean T's. They are about the same apparent quality as Lands End T's. However, the Gildeans were 2 for $16 ($8 each), whereas the LLBean and LandsEnd T's are typically about $30 each. Stitching: my initial impression was the stitching was good; even seams and no puckers. However, after wearing them about 10 times, the seams under the arms of one of the T's is coming apart. It appears they didn't leave enough fabric to sew a secure seam (it was stitched too close to the edge). In this regard, they are not nearly as durable as LLBean, but then again these were only $8 each.

Good Gildan Product

I have had mixed results with Gildan. These go into the good column. Not super heavy cotton - more mid-weight, (if such a thing exists.) I tend to run between small/medium depending upon the maker and the cut. These were ordered in medium, and after washing I would characterize them as slim fit medium. The cuffs and collar are nicely finished. The shoulder seams hit me right as they should. I'm knocking off points for the huge scratchy neck tags that will require scissor surgery. Good for wear under a shirt or light jacket on cool days. Hard to beat the price!

I like the color and fabric …

and how well made it is, especially the collar. But the pleating of the cuffs seems more an artifact of cost cutting rather than a stylistic choice. The green shirt pictured is the one in question. The black one from a prominent outdoors supplier.

Shrinks in the wash

These are my favorite type of long sleeve shirt to wear under my uniform. Typically, I have them with logos as they are used by many places for their durability. I bought these because I was tired of having logos and wanted just a plain shirt. These are very comfortable and I will order them again. My only gripe is that these seemed to have shrunk after a few washes. Not a deal breaker, but still a great value.

Not "heavy" cotton, but nice summer long sleeve shirt

Size is good, color is good, but certainly is not heavy cotton, actually very thin. Its great for summer months for protection from the sun.

Excellent quality cotton that doesn't shrink in wash..

Bought in XL for partner in varying grey shades. XL fits his 40 inch chest with room (zero clinging) and length is perfect for his 5ft11 height. No riding up. Arm length with cuff is great. Washed often and shape, length, width and sleeve length as new. Collar sits perfectly with good quality stitching. Very impressed for both pricing and quality. Colour is not fading. Material is not getting fleecy after multiple washes. Shall def purchase more of same as can be worn over all seasons. Highly recommend all Gildan long and short sleeve shirts. Best find for a fussy wearer ever and superb price point. Thank you.

These are fine.

These are decent shirts and are sized well. They do shrink quite a bit when washed, so be sure to order accordingly.

Compared to other T-Shirts, these are a good price and decent quality. They are made of slightly thicker material, so they are warm... good for Canadian winters.
