It's a good one for the price for beginners and useful.
I liked this as it is the right size and smoothness (no pits on the surface) and has metallic bearings around which the handles rotate. It does the trick of rolling chapaatis, totis and tortillas good enough but I haven't used it for pie dough and cookie dough yet. Previously I had ChefMate and it was nice for a beginner baker like me, but the bearings were short lipped plastic which came out after 3 uses and although I can use it rolling tortillas, the plastic dowels need to be adjusted every now and then while rolling and is a pain. I decided I wanted to get better quality but not spend a good amount of money at this time, although i might as I progress. This was just right in size to fit inside the drawers and to manipulate. Didn't want the rolling part more than 10.75 (the size of the ChefMate, which by the way is no longer available anywhere). As a baker one needs a series of pins; I have bought a French pin, I have bought this, and I will be buying the metallic, pastry pin with different sized rings as the end in the near future. I hope it lasts long as it seems sturdy and to let others know, this particular one is made in Taiwan. (The name is Mrs Anderson's but the company is HIC which makes decent kitchen goods and is US company). Says so on the label that came with it. There's another one of the same size of the same brand which is made in the USA with less reviews, but I have gotten this already. Not going to change. I like it.

Perfect size for toddlers!
I wanted a good quality and food safe rolling pin for my 4 and 2 year olds. This is it! Will hold up to my boys - built sturdy. Functional and easy for the boys to use. Nice to look at, happy to have more wood vs plastic in my drawer.

Perfect for the little baker in your life!
I love this little rolling pin. It is the perfect size for my twin toddlers, and they now help me every time I make biscuits or pie crusts. The pin actually rolls just like mine, which is the main reason I purchased this particular children's rolling pin. Other children's rolling pins seem to be once piece molded together, requiring the children to have enough fine motor skills to "roll" the pin themselves with their little hands. My kids are 2.5 years old, and I feel like that would have been too difficult for them at this stage. They are able to easily roll their own dough with these pins and they're not too heave or large for the kids to wield. Best of all- I have twins and need to buy two of everything, and this rolling pin was priced low enough that I didn't feel like I would be throwing money away if the kids didn't like them. I highly recommend these rolling pins for the little baker in your life!

Wedding gift
I gave this rolling pin to my granddaughter as a wedding gift. My mother-in-lawgave me a similar rolling pin when I got married 60 years ago. My rolling pin has made many pies and cookies over the years and I wanted to give my granddaughter something very similar. It is amazing how much this rolling pin looks like mine. Be careful, though, about the measurements. I first ordered a 17" one because my rolling pin measured 17" from tip to tip. That was a huge, heavy rolling pin that I had to return. The measurements given are for the roller itself, not including the handles.

I haven’t actually used this yet but it seems well-made —the ball bearings flow smoothly and the wood is nice —my only issue is that they promote these all American homemade kind of values but it was made in TAIWAN ... I suppose if it wasn’t it would cost a lot more but since it’s some thing you typically only by once in your lifetime personally I’d rather have it made in Vermont or somewhere like that

Great for play dough and mom's baking!
I was looking for a rolling pin for my 2.5 year old twins to use with play dough. The problem with most children's rolling pins is that they don't roll: the pins are connected to the barrel in one piece. This rolling pin is different - it is just like the one I grew up with - but smaller. Here is the best part - I use it too! Both for cookies and pie crust. Now it is not ideal, because it is smaller (so it takes me a bit longer to make everything smooth and perfect) - however, because of the small size it fits in my kitchen drawers nicely, whereas the big ones don't fit in a drawer with other utensils. Therefore, I would gladly take the tradeoff of the smaller size for its convenience. Therefore I recommend it both for play and for real cooking. I love this rolling pin and the totally reasonable price! I hope you find this helpful!

Unexpected but exactly what I needed...
I was in a hurry when buying this and I must have missed that it said "children's rolling pin" in the name when I bought it, so when it arrived, I was really surprised. That said, it's actually a pretty awesome little rolling pin if you aren't rolling out something huge. It was exactly the right size for what I needed, and since this was a backup for when I'm visiting my folks (I'm a big baker and my parents don't have any equipment), the size is perfect to store there. I might have to get one for home, too, to replace the large one I don't really need. Great accidental purchase.
