High-end soft eyeliner that's easily smudges. Not great for the waterline and not long lasting.
At the end of the day, this eyeliner is good if you are smudging your eyeliner to get a dramatic look but not great for drawing fine lines. I tried it on my waterline and it just did not stay on there very well. you will have to sharpen the eye liner with a sharpener (not included). For a high-end product, this had an awesome price ($10.95 at time of this review).

Classic Black eyeliner
Just b okay very classic black eyeliner does the trick. May need a couple more layers if you have more melanin like myself. Didn’t easily rub off but does come off with makeup wipes or cleaner the lasting power could be better but not bad for the price.

Standard pencil eyeliner. Does not stay on the lower inner waterline.
Would I get the Illamasqua eyeliner again or recommend it and why: Maybe, it's a very nice standard pencil eyeliner. The formula is very nice and not too dry, waxy or too creamy and it applies very well. -However, it's a very standard pencil and formula. While the formula is nice and well done, for the price is is a normal eye pencil. The price is quite a bit higher than other eye pencils with similar performance that are equally good. -It does not perform well on the lower inner waterline (above the lower lash line). It disappears after about 30 minutes of wear and you can't tell you applied it there, it’s just gone (may smudge on some people). Style and version: Standard eye pencil (non-gel, sharpen-able) in the color S.O.P.H.I.E. which is a dark ebony. Value for the price: While it's a nice eye pencil with a good formula and it's a larger eye pencil-it does not outperform other lower priced eye pencils that are a better value at a lower cost. Quality and how well it works: While it does not at all work well for the waterline (lower and likely upper as well, but I only trialed the lower waterline), it is a very nice standard, traditional style eye pencil. -It's not dry and waxy it's creamy but not too creamy. They got the formula just right on this one. No dragging, skipping or application issues. It applies very well and is easy to use and apply. -It's a fine tipped pencil that's normal width, but long length. Size: 1.4 g or 0.05 oz (it's one of the longer eyeliners) Scent: Unscented with no added fragrance or detectable scent. Pros: -Very good formula. Not too dry and waxy nor too creamy, but just right. -It's creamy and easy to apply with no dragging, skipping or pulling on the skin. -No fragrance or scent. -Nice color options. -Ingredients are printed on the outer carton. -Long pencil that should last a while, it's not a short one. -Fine tipped and slim standard eye pencil size. -Sharpen able (standard size sharpener). Cons: -It does not perform well at all on the inner waterline (lower and likely upper as well). It applies nicely but disappears in 30 minutes, like you didn't apply it at all. -The price is quite high compared to other similar styled and equally well performing eyeliners that are lower in price. Tips & Thoughts: -This is not going to perform well on your lower waterline, it will disappear (or smudge). -It is not a gel eye liner. -It is not a twist up eye liner, you must sharpen it (standard sharpener size). Final Impression: It's a very nice, well done eyeliner with a great formula. It won't work well on the lower waterline but otherwise performs well. It applies easily with no dragging, pulling or skipping. However, the price is quite a bit higher than other similar eye pencils that perform equally well. Ingredients (for the color S.O.P.H.I.E.) Pretty Average Eye Pencil, but Doesn't Claim to Be More
I was pretty excited to try something from Illamasqua, it's been years since they pulled out of the US market for the most part and I always enjoyed their vibe when Alex Box was still involved with the company. Their cake eyeliner was always a favorite of mine back in the day. Seems like maybe their standard have changed over the years though. I picked up shade S.O.P.H.I.E. which is a midtone black, certainly not the blackest eyeliner I have. I swatched it in the photo with a couple of my favorite black eyeliners, the Loreal is much creamier and blacker than this one (and half the price). The product doesn't make a lot of claims or I might have rated it lower. It doesn't claim to be water-resistant, transfer-proof or long-wearing, and it's not at all. It does go on smoothly with no tugging. Not creamy per say, but I think it's the castor oil that gives it some slip. It also blends out very easily which is nice, it kind of sheers out. For me, the ideal use of this pencil is for a smokey eye type look, or a darker base for a shadow. "Coloring Pencil" seems a more apt name than eyeliner. It rubs off pretty easily if you try, but doesn't fade throughout the day. It would not last on the waterline. I do like the classic wood pencil design of this, I personally hate those twist up type eyeliners. It's also a fairly long pencil so you get a good amount of product. I still wouldn't consider it a great value as there are some fantastic drugstore priced eyeliners out there that cost half as much as this one and perform much better.

I like it.
On the whole, i like Illamasqua products, they used to do some wonderful nail polishes back in the day, and some of their lipsticks are great. But this eyeliner, well i like it, but i don’t love it. It’s very basic - just a plain pencil eyeliner. I always put pencil eyeliners in the freezer before i sharpen them, it helps to harden up the “lead” stuff. And this doesn’t come with a pencil sharpener provided, which for the price, i believe it should. I am better at using a pencil on my upper eyelid, than a liquid eyeliner. I don’t have much success with those. And as for winged eyeliner - nope, that’s not happening. I just can’t do it. But it works for just plain lines on my upper eyelid. As for the smoky look, if you want to use it on your lower lash line it works very well for that and is smudgable. It’s black in colour. I probably wouldn’t get it again, as i think i could get cheaper pencils that are equally effective.

Matita marrone
La matita è dura ma molto scrivente. Credevo che il colore fosse un po' più scuro, invece è decisamente chiaro simile al color bronzo. La stesura è facile ma, pur non facendo effetto "panda", dura due o tre ore e poi non rimane traccia.
