Tips for plastic bottles
I was a little concerned reading other reviews about melting plastic bottles, and they're pretty much true. I experimented with the warmer in different at different temperatures and various amounts of oil. Here are a few tips to keep plastic bottles from melting: 1) Keep the oil higher in the plastic bottle than the heating elements. If the oil drops below the level of the heating element, the plastic will have no way to dissipate the heat, causing the plastic that's above the oil level to begin to melt, even on medium heat. This can be a bit hard to do, since once you begin giving the massage, the oil could drop too low and, if you still have the heater on, it could begin melting the bottle. It may not be possible to keep the bottle mostly full all the time. 2) Keep the bottle vented at all times. Oil expands greatly when heated, so if the bottle is completely sealed, it'll begin to "explode" the bottle. 3) Use a glass bottle instead. I search for hours and couldn't find anything, except for a glass bottle that's pretty darn close: Google "Specialty Bottle" and check out their 5oz "Woozy" bottle. It's the right width and height, though it has different threading that I can't find a proper cap for. They also have 8oz plastic bottles that fit the warmer perfectly. In addition, they have pumps, but I notice that the oil that is in the pump tube quickly cools off, so the oil you pump out is no longer warm.

Mine worked fine. Softens / melts most bottles. Read below for further for advice.
We have been saying "We need to get a warmer." every time we use cold massage oil. I know you can use the microwave etc. but we liked the idea of reliable warm oils and lotions. Mine worked as stated. The only problem is that it does soften / melt most bottles. I do wish it held a 16 oz. bottle but it does not. I searched all over for a suitable HIGH DENSITY polyethylene bottle of the right size. They are out there but a small order will cost more than a bottle full of product. HERE IS THE SOLUTION: The bottle that comes with I-D Glide, 9.5-Ounce Bottle by I-D, sold on Amazon fits perfectly and seems to be tolerating the heat. Note that this is a 9.5 oz. bottle so you can hold a touch more. It is also slightly larger in diameter and fits the holder perfectly. We switched out the top that comes with the ID product for a pump-type top from another product. The tops are all pretty much a standard size so you should not have a problem finding one that fits. Ours came from a liquid hand soap dispenser but, again, many pump tops will fit. Now I just wish I had purchased a heater that holds more than one bottle! Consider that as well if you are selecting a heater.

made a mess
used hot water to warm oil for too long and wanted warmer for convenience, but this warmer needs some re-engineering. When set it initially on medium heat, it made a blister on the bottle, then I used another bottle and set it on medium high, not close to all the way up setting, it melted the bottle and oil spilled all over my bookcase and carpet. The seller sent couple of bottle as replacement to try, one of them looked like Lexcan bottle and the warmer warped the bottle too when set on medium high. Asked seller to ship me another since this one may have faulty thermostat, but they said the manufacture told them that is the way it is. Glass bottle may be the answer, but it will be heavy and breakable. Product should of been UL tested. Who is going to clean oil off my carpet? I suppose it is ok to use when setting it on below medium high, but the way this product works, it may cause fire, or a big mess. find another brand to try, I am sending mine back.

Came with no instructions
Was disappointed when I opened the box and found no instructions. I thought it might have been returned at first but then I read a review and I guess it doesn't come with instructions. They should state that you need to use plastic bottles with the code HDPE on the bottom of it. These bottles will withstand the heat and not melt. If it wasn't for someone posting it on a review you would never know it. So far I'm pretty happy with it. But they need to either supply the bottles or put some kind of instructions with it.

Where are the glass bottles?
This warmer does not come with a glass bottle. Plastic bottles melt inside the warmer. I searched and found a glass bottle that fits inside, but, it turns out to be too short for practical purposes. I'm still trying to find the ultimate bottle. The manufacturer should sell this warmer with a glass bottle that fits it.

Nice product
It is a simple heater for rubdown oil. We ordered the same one our old masseuse had in her office. It does its job well.
