Beautiful and warm
My 9 year old loves it!! She wears the warm inside jacket daily and puts the outside rain on over it when it is raining (we’re in Oregon). Beautiful color.

Cozy and warm
This jacket was a purchase for my 9 year old. It is fuzzy and soft on the inside, and the shell makes a great liner to stay out of the rain. Wish it was made for adults too. Not overly large, but not too small. Perfect fit for a bundle of clothes on a cold and or wet day.

Nicely designed multi-functional rain jacket
The Small, what I have is about a 6-8. It is too big for my daughter right now, but will fit my niece and then be ready for my daughter in a year or so. I have had several Marmot made things and they are designed for actual wear, not just to look good. They are not cheap, but also not cheaply main. I thought it would be too big for my daughter, but went ahead and had her put it on just to see how big it was on her. She did not want to talk off the inside fleece liner. It is a very soft and heavy full fleece (soft on both sides not just one). The fleece alone would be fine for dry but around freezing temperatures. The fleece has good zippered pockets with sewn-in edges to the pockets. (So the pockets are not going to flop around or catch on anything. The zippers are heavy duty YKK zippers. The fleece section is easily removed and there are discreet little elastic loops on the ends of the sleeves to attach the arms into the sleeves of the rain jacket so that the fleece arms don't move around inside the rain jacket arms. The rain jacket section is also lined with a separate mesh liner to help with breathability. Both the fleece and rain jacked have name tags sewn into the inside. The fleece jacket zips into the rain jacked so that when whole there is just once zipper on the front instead of two. There are also velcro areas of the jacket closure, so that if the child doesn't zip, or if it is really cold, the double enclosure will protect against wind coming in through the zipper. The hood is not lined with fleece, just the pink lining material (on the coral jacket). There is not a string on the hood to tighten, just elastic on the hood around the jaw area. That keeps the hood on without needing to tie it (and for a young child that can't tie yet, this is a good feature.) This is the same type of elastic that is at the end of the sleeves to keep the sleeves in place. The collar has a nice soft felt-like lining so that the neck does not rub. I do wish the lining were a color other than white, because I suspect that is going to show dirt. This is a pricey jacket for a child. But if you are in a rainy area or you don't need a super warm winter coat, this is a good heavy jacket or light coat that because of the fleece liner can be used either as a good rain coat, a heavy fleece when dry or as heavy jacket with the fleece inside the rain coat. And Marmot makes long lasting gear. So I suspect that this should last for my niece, my daughter and probably a few other kids.

Durable jacket...go ahead and play in the mud!
I ordered this Marmot Northshore jacket for my 9 year old daughter. I am very pleased with the quality of it. I have a Marmot jacket myself, and this kid's version is every bit as nice as mine. The material is high quality, and the workmanship is equally good. The YKK brand zippers are sturdy, and glide easily. My daughter loves the pockets. So many girls and women's clothes don't have nice pockets, but this does. Both of the layers have large pockets, and they have zippers to close them up. This is a jacket that would easily survive being a "hand me down" between several siblings or cousins. Being a 3-in-1, the jacket is very adaptable. It is winter now, so my daughter has been wearing both pieces together. It hasn't gotten below 15 degrees Fahrenheit yet, but she has been warm even when outside playing for an extended time. The outer layer is waterproof, so melting snow doesn't leak through. The inner liner is fleece. My daughter calls it furry, because it is fuzzier and softer than her Columbia brand fleece jacket. The outer layer by itself will make a good rain jacket, and the fleece layer by itself is a good fall or spring jacket. Put together, it is perfect for our winter weather. Against my better judgement, I let my daughter take this jacket on a recent Girl Scout camping trip. She came home with the jacket covered in mud, and she was upset that she ruined it. I was a bit apprehensive myself, considering what it looked like. I looked for the tag with washing instructions, which state: "Machine wash cold, with like colors. Powdered detergent, gentle cycle. No fabric softeners. Do not iron. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Tumble dry low, close all fasteners." I haven't bought powdered detergent in many years, so I used the Persil liquid detergent that I already had. I took the layers apart, pre-treated the worst of the stains with Persil, and let it soak in for about 15 minutes. I proceeded to wash the jacket in my front loader per the instructions, but with a double rinse since I used more detergent than normal. It came out looking like new! So, don't be afraid to let your kids play outside in this pretty jacket. Recommended!

Great colors and two jackets in one!
Marmot is an amazing brand with high quality products that are built to last a lifetime and this Girls lightweight waterproof rain jacket is no different. This beautiful "waterfall" color is a medimum teal color with a bright yellow fleece liner that is just beautiful! It has been raining here for the past week and my daughter wore this jacket and she said it was so comfortable and kept her dry and just warm enough but not warm. The waterproof yet breathable fabric keeps you dry and comfortable even when you are increasing your activity - as in jumping in every puddle in the parking lot 10 times over. The taped seams are there to prevent leaks and in turn protecting you from the elements. I found the stitching to be immaculate - I am a seamstress so this is the first thing I look at when purchasing clothing or anything. The hood is not removable from the outter shell - but since this is meant for water repelling the hood is important. From there the double storm flap and velcro closure helps prevent cold air and moisture seeping through the zipper. The zipper is not a waterproof zipper - so this flap is quiet important. While the price point on this does seem a bit high - the jacket is well made and will last a lifetime as long as you take care of it. I could see this easily lasting through 6 children.

Love this
I ordered this for my daughter for next year. It’s quite big so maybe even the year before. She loves it and wants to wear this already. The grey is so soft. We got this on a deal. Would definitely recommend
