Warm, Light, Looks Great and It's a Marmot!

I'm 5'8", 175 and the Large size fits great - a bit long in the sleeve, but not obnoxiously. I was concerned going with a synthetic insulation over down, but this coat has not disappointed me. I live in suburbs of Chicago, so we get our fair share of single digit and below temperatures. I've worn it with a dress shirt underneath and not felt cold. I shoveled the driveway with a sweatshirt underneath in the teens and was sweating within 10 minutes. I sat through the Bears playoff game this season in 30s and below without feeling any discomfort. I tend to run pretty warm and am not bothered by the cold much, so take that for what it's worth. As for it's "water Resistant" status, I walked 2.5 miles in a constant drizzle, 40s perhaps outside, and never got wet underneath. I was comfortable the whole time. It also dries quickly and there's no down to soak up water and weight. It would be nice if it had a built in system or rolling itself into a pocket or something for travel, but it does fold into a very small size. In fact, I'm taking it on a trip to Florida end of January and I'm happy knowing it won;t take up much room at all in my suitcase. I just don;t want to return to Chicago mid-winter without a jacket at the airport. Especially for the cost point i this category of jacket, I don't thin you can wrong. The black is a nice color and the fit is good. I own a Marmot rain jacket and it has never let me down, so I'm hoping for the same experience with this jacket!

Lightweight, but very warm

Very comfortable and light. Easy to pack into a suitcase. But very warm.

high quality and stylishly made, but the cut of the jacket is not suitable for everyone! If you have wide shoulders and a narrow belly, then this is for you. In general, for a professional athlete)) I am 5.9-215-215 XL in the butt, )

Super lightweight, warm, cut is a bit full

Super lightweight, warm, cut is a bit full. Overall, well made. I am between a medium and large, so got the large. Chest is okay, but definitely a barrel cut - large in the waist.

This is a very thin jacket for mild weather

I was expecting a winter jacket that looked like something in the photo. What I received was a jacket with barely any fill that is built to be more like a fall jacket. It's also cut for guys who have an upper body that's about the same as the midsection. It feels cheap and nowhere near the value for the price. In 30 degree weather it barely kept me warm and I could feel cold through the seams. I'd hardly call it a "Puffer" jacket.

Glorified bin bag

It’s OK. The styling was pretty good. Nice light weight. The fit was not that great with disproportionately long sleeves. I liked the soft material lining the collar but it really should have extended throughout the interior. Unfortunately it doesn’t, the inner lining is plastic like the outside. Ultimately that makes this jacket a glorified bin bag. Far too expensive for what it is so I can only award it two stars.

Warm, lightweight, fantastically packable!

Such an awesome jacket!! I bought it for my overseas trip, and it proved to be warm, lightweight, and so conveniently packable! It feels like a lightweight down jacket, but without that stiff/heavy fabric my down jacket has. I can wear a short sleeve shirt under this jacket when it’s in the 40s and stay warm! Once the day warmed up, I folded the jacket in thirds (photo 1), rolled it down starting at the collar, and used the elastic waist strap to hold the rolled-up jacket together (photo 2) so it fit in my backpack. Utterly brilliant! This purchase is a win!

I love Marmot Jackets, i have like 6. This jacket is very soft and the most important is that is light and I can take it to the mountain.

Really wanted to like this jacket

Really liked the material and light weight of this jacket. Unfortunately the bicep area of the sleeves were disproportionally “puffy” as in too much material. Really wanted to like this jacket but had to send back due to the cut of the sleeves.

Great jacket for a cold morning!

The material of the jacket is very nice and the construction (stitching) is well done. The jacket itself is very lightweight. I ordered a small and the jacket fits well (I'm 5'8"). If you have a slim build, you'll find the arm area a touch on the long size (but the product description of "regular" fit is accurate).

Light, stylish but not super warm

This coat is super light and very stylish but not super warm. I only recommend it above 5 degrees celcius (41 F). More of a spring and fall coat, definitely not for winter.
