The gloves you didn't know you needed
Most of us, men, in particular, choose gloves over mittens most of the time but in reality mittens offer more warmth but they sacrifice dexterity but what if you could have both? That's where these convertible mitten/gloves come into their own. Use them as mittens to keep your fingers warm, whether you're out walking, running or simply trying to stay warm; and then fold back the tops of the mittens to expose your fingertips for more dexterity. Yes, the half glove will keep your hands and half of your fingers warm but your bare fingertips can now take on the dexterous challenges you throw at them. As a photographer, I use these so that I can keep my hands warm and fold them back when I need to make adjustments to my cameras and lenses. They are warm and do a decent job of shedding wet weather. The price is unbeatable; that's why you'll realize that these are the best gloves that you never knew you needed.

Great convertible mittens. Nice and warm
Warm and easy to convert. I especially like the magnetic clasp. The only downside is the thumb. It's too long and the thumb slit opens too easily.

Prefer magnets to hook and loop except for one thing
That one issue is that magnets interfere with compass use. Not just a standard hand-held compass but also the compass on the phone. The magnets don't interfere with the GPS signals so the location is OK, but direction is off. If I wear a glove on just one hand I can see the compass move way off when I switch to that hand. I just can't wear these while navigating off-trail. Manzella has always done good by me and magnets won't wear out like hook and loop, but even their hook and loop is better than average.

warm in the winter
I wore it a few times in cold weather this past week and it kept my hands warm on the bike. first night was 28 deg, second one it was 17 deg with wind chill. these rides were for about 30 minutes. next best thing to heated gloves. For short rides I would recommend them.

Good glommets
This is my second pair and I use them all the time. They're fairly warm (but when mountaineering I still need a windproof/waterproof shell over them). Fleece is nice and soft. Having a hole for the thumb is crucial for me. The magnet isn't strong enough though. It's better than velcro because the stitching on most velcro isn't very good and it comes apart after a year or 2. But they need stronger magnets to really work well when hiking, bouncing around, in wind, etc. The sewn ring at the tips of the fingers (where the fingers come out of the holes) are too tight, it slightly restricts my circulation and I have skinny fingers. I have to stretch them out when I buy a pair and even then they're too tight. But other brands are even tighter so I keep buying these.

LOVE these!!!!!
Being these are men’s and I cannot find them in small, they are a little large, But they are so awesome. They work super well up in Duluth, MN. I’ve not found this quality in women’s sizes and I’ve not found these in men’s small. I’ve given these as gifts and they Love them, men and women

Photographers note: Great glove/mitten for shooting in the cold.
As a photographer I'm always looking for ways to keep my hands warm when shooting winter subjects. I use my Thinsulate hunting gloves and a lighter weight glove made for bike riders. The hunting gloves are warm and I can operate the controls on my Nikon 610, D7000 and my Canon 70D without taking off the gloves. But sometimes you have to take off the gloves to get at stuff in your bag or operate other dials on the camera. Robert Rodriguez Jr, a landscape photographer, blogged his winter gear and mentioned the Manzella convertible mittens. When I recevied them it was 27 degrees with a wind chill of 17 degrees. Not only did they keep my hands toasty warm but I could hit my back focus buttons and release the shutter button without uncovering my hand. I couldn't operate the rear dial with my thumb and it was a perfect time to pull the mitten part off to check battery strength and review a shot I just took. Absolutely happy with this test run. Pros: The glove label states it is a Manzella Cascade Convertible / Convertible Fleece glove with the designation "Warmest" in M/L size. I ordered the Large size and the fit is perfect (not sure about the label M/L). When you push the mittten back this glove uses Velcro to hold the mitten part to the glove. I was happy about the Velcro because some other convertibles use magnets. Some reviewers complained about the tightness around the fingers but this was not a problem for me. I didn't bother uncovering my thumb since it was not needed. Very warm - the fleece keeps out any draft coming in from the mitten part. 280g Microfleece Shell, 40g Thinsulate Insulaltion and Fleece lining. Well made. I didn't notice any defects in workmanship. Cons! Only one. Some convertibles have a tab on a finger cover to help pull off the glove. These do not have a tab. I'll update my review when I can test in the teens and if there are any construction issues.

Almost perfect!
Quality is good and comfortable. Pricing is too much and it should be 20-25% lower. I have Mandela gloves before I liked it and I still like this new one. Sizing is doubtful? I ordered and get the Large and it is a bit larger than I need, but I am not going to return/exchange it and ended up with something to small?

Defective product from this vendor/No option for replacement
These are excellent gloves that I have been using for many years. However, the product I received from this vendor was defective (no functional magnet closure) and there was no option to receive an u damaged replacement item.

Funcionales pero no duraderos
Son excelentes para el frio muy cómodos y eficientes pero solamente los use por mes y medio y empecé a notar como ciertas zonas se empezaron a descosturar por lo que su duración es cuestionable

Convertible feature!
The convertible feature of these gloves is very useful when engaged in winter athletics.
