About fifeteen years ago we placed Magic Sliders on the (24) legs of the six kitchen chairs at our dinner table. The chairs sit on hardwood floors and we were hoping to prevent/reduce scratching of the wood floor's finish. The floor, despite being in a high activity area, has held up well thanks in part to the Magic Sliders. Over the years, the low-friction coating on the sliders began to scratch and wear down so I just replaced them about two weeks ago. These new ones slide just the same as the old ones, although over the years, the design has changed a bit. This change was good in that the pads have adhesive on them now whereas they used to have a little lip that fit around the leg of the chair. This update in design now makes installation a breeze and make the 1" size nearly universal for different leg sizes. The downside is that the fit isn't exact and that the adhesive is not the greatest. To combat this I placed a dab of Gorilla Glue between the chair legs and the sliders to improve adhesion. Overall though, these are a great solution to reduce damage on floors and make the process of sliding a chair less effort. They are a bit expensive, but since the others lasted about fifteen years, it is reasonable, especially when contrasted to the cost to have the floor refinished. I attached a few pictures for reference.

Adhesive not strong enough

These were a perfect size for the legs of our sofas and would probably be fine in a home setting. But they are being used in an office setting and the sofas get moved regularly and the adhesive came "un-stuck" within a week of application.

One of the best sliders for chairs

I wish I could give them five stars because I love them, except for the fact that after a few months of sliding, the adhesive loses its grip and they dislodge and I end up replacing them more often than I would like. I decided to order the silicone covers with the felt bottoms -- don't do that! They squeak and catch whenever a chair is moved. So I'm back to these.

Awesome

I put these on my metal barstools arhat slides on tile in my kitchen. I replaced the felt that kept shedding causing scratching. I secured them with 300 glue to be safe. I also tried them on my patio furniture that sits on pavers. They worked there as well. I have to slightly lift the patio furniture, but no longer hear a loud scraping sound when I slide the chairs.

Disappointed, only last a few days

We have always had good success with magic sliders for our square leg chairs so I am so disappointed that these are not working at all. They stay on for a few days and then come off. The glue/adhesive must not be the same as when I buy it in store. Maybe the product is old, but I won’t buy these on Amazon again.

Was it the right product for me?

The question this review asked is: did these sliders meet my needs? Unfortunately no However I don’t know how fair it is to the product as I purchased for my outside patio furniture. Adhesive didn’t keep them on so tried Krazy glue & that didn’t work either.

work ok for a while

they work great at first, are ok after a month or so, and not so good after a couple months. would recommend for single use, or use on seldom moved items

Stay in place

Tried these after an unsuccessful attempt at using felt pads. These stick on easily, stay in place, actually allow the furniture to slide & don’t scratch the floor.

Really like

We have used these before on our chairs in our kitchen, but they have worn out and need replacing. These are the only kind that seem to slide on our forty-year-old Armstrong floor. The floor has a gloss finish but is bumpy or pebbly and is not at all slippery. They stick good to the wooden chair legs. We could have used 15/16 square one on these chairs, but these were cheaper in the 16 pk., and we needed that many.

Quality lacking

I ordered these to see if they are as good as the Scotch brand. Two of them fell off in the first week of use so I replaced them . They quality of the self adhesive material is no where near that of the Scotch gliders. We are using these on laminated flooring and it makes moving the chairs around much easier as compared to felt gliders. The Magic sliders have been one for about three weeks, so will comment later.

Totally Magical

Excellent quality. Well worth the money. I was looking for these for my kitchen chairs. They slide easily now. Don’t waste your money on those felt thingys that pop off, buy the magic sliders and you will be thank the day you do.

These literally will make your life easier!

This is the best thing ever. I first got them for my stove as there is only like an 1/8 of an inch on either side for wiggle room. My stove now slides in and out with ease. I then purchased more for my table and chairs. Love them and will definitely buy more for all the hard to move furniture in my house!!

Slide furniture easily on any surface.

These sliders are absolutely remarkable. Everything slides with ease. There are other brands but none compare to MAGIC SLIDERS!
