Versatile and Safe
I’ve wanted magnet toys for my kids for awhile, but never wanted to pay this much for them. After searching and comparing several different brands and talking to people who have them, I decided it’s worth the extra money for something that is safe and will last forever. Many other brands have the magnet exposed which makes me nervous with them breaking off and kids swallowing them (also just the fact that the toy wouldn’t be usable). Other brands also don’t have the magnet strength of these and don’t stay together as well. So, I made the plunge and got these for my kids for Christmas and they all love them (ages 7, 5, and 2.5). They can be so creative with what to build at their different skill levels. I’m happy with them and don’t regret the extra $$ spent for high quality.

I do NOT recommend leaving young children unattended with small pieces or magnetic ...
The media could not be loaded. Product: Magformers Standard Set (62 Pieces) Intent of Purpose: Education Tool (geometry, spatial concepts, sorting, etc.) Duration of Use: 4 Months Amount of Daily Use (low/moderate/high): Moderate Age (range) of Primary User(s): Baby (10 month – 14 month)*, Adult *As a fore note, I do NOT recommend leaving young children unattended with small pieces or magnetic toys. Seriously, don’t even look away or get up to go to the bathroom. Be responsible, please. Durability / Longevity Rating: 5/5 My set has withstood moderate mistreatment from a toddler over the course of 4 months and still looks new. No pieces have broken. They have been frequently stepped on, chucked across the room, and dropped onto a tile floor. Appearance /Presentation Rating: 5/5 Colorful and attractive. Not an eyesore. Construction / Usefulness / Practicality Rating: 5/5 They are lightweight; I’d say no potential for broken windows, busted sheetrock, broken tile; not likely to result in severe injury and or concussion if they happen to become projectiles. The magnets rattle around when you shake an individual piece (not a negative quality). Useful as an educational tool. Examples: construction; spatial concepts; geometry; multiple mathematical concepts; matching; stacking; etc. The magnets are strong. In the video I have attached, you can see how strongly they stick to a metal baking pan. Unfortunately, I can only upload one video; I had made a comparison video of the staying power of Magna-Tiles vs. Magformers; even though I couldn't upload it, I'll tell you that the Magformers won. Cost-Efficiency Rating (MSRP): 2/5 At the suggested retail price, this isn’t a cost efficient item, especially if you’re working on a budget. Keep reading though. This product is frequently marked down by as much as 40-50% off the MSRP. Having worked in Ecommerce and sales for many years, I can assure you that markdowns aren’t always indicative of low sales or low-quality products; it’s a sales gimmick to persuade buyers into thinking they’re saving money. The MSRP is usually an unrealistic, inflated number which exists to convince you that you’re catching a bargain. Ordinarily, even when a product is half off, the manufacturer is still profiting and you’re actually paying a more realistic/fair price. So, if you purchase this item at a deep discount of around 40-50% off, I’d rate the cost-efficiency at about 4/5. Likeliness of Repurchase: Highly Likely I don’t know if I could ever have too many of these. For the time being, I only own one 62-piece set, but I would be glad to own a swimming pool full of these. Overall Rating: 4.75/5 (if purchased at a discount) If you aren’t quite sure which magnetic building tool to purchase (there are many available on the market), I can tell you that I have three different top-of-the-line products (Magformers, Magna-Tiles, and Tegu). Of the three, Magformers are my favorite. Here’s why: they have strong magnets; the open construction allows chunky little fingers (or any fingers) to handle them with ease; I feel that they are less likely to crack if stepped on in lieu of the open construction; the size and shape variety is nice; they are lightweight *and* durable at the same time. THE END. Hope you enjoyed my review. ????

Think these will be a nice & more easily handled basic first set of magnetic toys for our grandson
Gosh - sure are a lot of various magnetic construction sets out there! I'd heard about them as I was looking around for Christmas ideas for our 4-1/2 year old grandson, but also got a little confused - there are SO many to choose from, including Magformers, Super Magformers, Magna-Tiles, Playmags, Picasso Tiles, Tegu Blocks, and each of them has fans! After reading up on each, I settled on this 62-piece basic set - they're pricey, as far as the size of our wallet, but I like the cutouts on these that should make them easier for our grandson to hold - Super Magformers have cutouts as well, but they're larger than these regular ones (though I do hear that neither type of Magformers stand up on their own due to their rounded sides, and the insides of the shapes have cylindrical magnets which spin around, so you have to stack them one by one - takes a bit longer to clean up after play and takes up a bit more space from what I can gather.) I'm considering Tegu - which are actually wooden magnetic blocks - for our 2 year old grandson, but I think our 4-1/2 year old little guy will really get a kick out of these! As the description says, there are 12 pentagons, 20 triangles and 30 squares... the sides of each pentagon and square are 2-1/2", and of each traiangle are 2". I love that each shape is a striking 2-tone color, whether turquoise/dark blue, yellow/pink, purple/green orange/red - very cool looking and eye-catching! There's a model booklet enclosed that shows a variety of available sets... with this particular set, your youngster can build things like a hourglass, fish, heart, microphone, house, UFO, a couple of different rockets, stars and buildings, 3-D shapes like a cube or hexagonal prism, and others I've NEVER heard of but are sure fun to try and pronounce... tetrahedron, octahedron, cuboctahedron, icosahedron, dodecahedron, icosidodecahedron and rhombicuboctahedron - goodness gracious! (One thing to note... I took a "sneak peek" - as grandmas are allowed to do! - and while the outside box is sturdy, the tray inside that holds the shapes is super flimsy. Might want to have something else available to store the pieces in.)

Kids love this!
Amazing product! Very versatile for ages 3 and up. (No upper age limit. I even enjoy playing with it! LOL) Endless possibilities. My granddaughter, 3, made this. We got her 2 boxes, and one came with wheels.

Great toy
Get the original! Built a bit better and magnets are a little stronger than knock offs. Although it is a bit pricy but at least my kid keeps playing with this instead of some other one and done toys.
