UPDATED: Wiring issue addressed: Customer support EXCELLENT
UPDATED: CUSTOMER support sent me a pre paid UPS return Label and I sent it back and they are sending out today. GREAT ending. Why I wait to REVIEW a product: April 30, 2023- Nearly 2 yrs ago, on May 1, 2021 I purchased this to REPLACE my BRAUN coffee grinder which lasted 20 years. This had great FEATURES: Removable dishwasher safe grinding bowl. Dark side: The Grey cover that you pull down on to get the cord to unwind it broke after a few months of use. The cord : Daily I used this unit.... I grind my coffee just before I have a cup of coffee, so that may be 3x a day....ok, That said: each time you wind the cord around the bottom it puts tension on the cord nearest where it connects. Today, On April 29, 2023 I plugged it in and got a near electrocution when it popped and made a spark.... Obviously the cord had shorted... The chord needs some kind of better wrapping next to the unit where it bends constantly when you wrap it . .....or the result is as you see. Great price, but your getting what you pay for I guess...

Cracked cup!
First off... we really like this grinder. Great palm size. Holds more than enough for several cups. And the noise is not obnoxious. It's exactly what we were looking for. However... after just 2 weeks the main cup became cracked. A significant crack that goes top to bottom. So I contacted Hamilton to ask them about potentially getting just a replacement of the broken cup before going through Amazon to get a full replacement which I didn't feel was necessary. I had to jump through a few hoops to get somewhere by email because phone calls were not accepted...but they finally agreed that they would send me a new cup. They did however say they normally charge shipping but were going to waive it for this instance. (Because i told them if i had to pay for shipping i would just return the broken product to Amazon and get a refund... no rudeness just thought this would have been a deal breaker for me as the product was only 2 weeks old, and didn't feel i was responsible for shipping costs) They said 3 WEEKS!! (or 15 business days) to receive it. Hoping to receive it soon. If they come through I'll change my rating from 4 stars to 5. I'll update with any further details.

RETRACTION: This grinder should come with EAR PROTECTION!!!!
RETRACTION: I had to add 2 stars as my first experience and second differed dramatically. I use this grinder on a wood butcher block and apparently some spilled grains of coffee got between the device and the surface to double the noise factor so in the future I will be placing a pot holder under the grinder to absorb some of the noise but it could still be improved in this department. Apparently I purchased this same grinder in 2017 and it only provided a few years of service so there is that detail to keep in mind. I would have given this unit 5 stars before I operated it first thing this morning at 5:00 AM and woke up the entire family both upstairs and down stairs. No joke, the noise this grinder puts out is that of a jet aircraft taking off. Surely something could have been done to make this a more USER FRIENDLY UNIT. I WILL NOW HAVE TO LOCK MYSELF IN THE PANTRY TO KEEP THE NOISE DOWN TO A TOLERABLE LEVEL. I'm sure when they were in the lab doing the final test run the creators of this monster had the same feelings as I do but just said WTF, it's good enough and OK'd the production of this grinder, keep looking and I'm sure you will find a quieter unit. By the way this grinder is replacing one that did it's job without fail and operated with a quiet humm for over 25 years. Tell me, why are we going backwards in the production quality of our household appliances. One word, GREED!

Great Value
I've been using this thing for a long while now and it's still as sharp as ever. Grinds any coffee beans I've used in a matter of seconds. I was a barista for a few years, and this works just as well as the big industrial one we had behind the counter. You just have to know what the different grinds look like. I've ground beans from French Press to Espresso consistency with this beast. And I love how it wraps the cord under the base for easy storage. 10/10 would recommend!

Nice little grinder.
This grinder is well made. Works really well . It isn’t very loud . I use it for coffee beans, nuts, spices, dried egg shells to powder to put into the garden. I’ve been using it about a month and haven’t had any issues . The cup does remove you just have to turn it as it locks into place. I love that the cord has a built in keeper and when not in use stores easily.

Solid, but maybe not enough for me
It worked well, I liked how the cord could be put in the bottom, the bowl can be taken out for easy cleaning, and it grinder spices as fine as I wanted them. The only issue is that I bought it for a restaurant and the plastic grinding cup has started cracking. For a home product being used occasionally, it would be perfect, but being used everyday in a restaurant, it shows its wear. Still lasted longer than I thought it would though.

Great product!
I am afraid it will not last. The reason is the "on" button is attached to the cover. A little point of plastic which when you remove the cover, comes with it. There is no way to turn the device on should (dare I say when) with wear and tear the plastic triangle on button snaps off. Still great product even with this minor flaw. (Probably why the price is so great!- Makes it a win!) The motor is quiet enough that ppl sleeping in the same room are not disturbed. That alone is priceless! Great buy, great price, will last awhile- long enough to get your monies worth.

Works well
Works well, just like the original one it replaced that the grinder knife shaft broke after several years use. Has quite a bit more felt vibration though, almost numbs the hand holding it

Works awesome
I bought this to start making my own cold brew coffee, and it works really well! This is the first coffee grinder I have ever bought and it was very easy for me to use and get the result I wanted! It’s not super loud, grinds up whole coffee beans with ease and the removable chamber makes it easier to clean. I do wish the cord was a little bit longer but I’m very happy with this coffee grinder.

That it grinds finely
Personally I am very pleased with this coffee grinder. Mind you, the grinding cup could be bigger. But I am a single person, so I do 2 tablespoons of coffee beans at a time. This way it never makes a mess. After that I put the ground coffee into a vacuum airtight container. Yes, it is quite noisy. The secret is to PULSE it, 3 times for 5 seconds. I count till 5 and stop. I tap the sides of the cup, so it won't spill. Then I pour it into my vacuum container over the sink. Then I use the brush which I purchased specially to clean the cup and the lid . This coffee cleaning brush is very soft and gets into all the corners, does an excellent job. I hand wash the container and lid once a week. But I make the best coffee I had in years using beans by Melitta. The reason why I gave it only 4 stars is because it is quite noisy and the grinding cup is too small

Works great, stores nicely, excellent value
Works great; love the way the cord stores, easy to rough or fine grind. My only complaint is that the grinding tray falls into the cup when turned upside down to empty it. I wish it detached with a bit of a tug instead of sitting in place loosely. Minor irritation only. Would buy again and recommend to anyone. Excellent value.

No need to spend more money, this product is affordable and works great! I bought one for my family as a gift and they loved it. We just bought ourselves one and it works great. As a coffee lover, I love being able to quickly grind coffee beans.

It's quiet and efficient!!
For the price...it's a great little grinder. I have a 5 cup coffee maker and the Hamilton Beach coffee grinder holds the exact amount of beans that I need for my daily coffee fix. It grinds the beans to the consistency that I like which is fine and it takes no effort at all. I'm happy with this purchase!!
