Good looking well made and extremely quiet
Was looking for a dc fan since they are quiet. The fan is ultra quiet. It appears very well built. Fan blades are purchased separately and give you a huge amount of options regarding color type and size. It is heavy and does take some skill to install. I found it was easier to install the fan motor and housing first and then install the blades. Also bought a light kit and also very pleased with it. Plenty of light. The remote is hardwired in a switch box which isn’t what most think as a remote. But once installed and once used to its operation it’s fine. Also controls and dims the lights from the remote. Added bonus is that it uses very little power. Very pleased so far.

seem like nice fans so far, very quite, absolutely no noise, very little wobble.
It has only been 1 week, but so far we are 100% satisfied. Best quality is these fans are quite. Even on highest speed there is 0 noise output from the motor. There is a slight wobble in each fan at highest speed, only noticeable if you are looking at it directly from a few feet away. They move plenty of air and you can feel the breeze everywhere in our house (open style architecture). There were no gotchas or difficulties in installing the fans (we got two). Best part for us was that these fans had four different blade sizes which we needed due to different install locations (18",22",25",31") so that made it easy to just get all four sets of blade fans and see what was the best fit for each application (Amazon has such easy returns so we are sending two fan blade sets back no problem). One point of interest is that these fans are remote controlled via wireless signal, even if you are using the wall station to control them. Since we bought two fans, both having the same factory settings, both wall controls each controlled both fans at the same time. Upon reading the manual we saw that we needed to change the dip-switch settings on one of the wall stations to make them different so that the wireless signal (even though we had wall mount) would be recognized correctly with each fan synced to its own wall station. This took the electrician an extra 20 minutes to resolve. We did not get the light fixtures with them but since install went so well we are reconsidering getting those too.

Adjusted rating after living with these fans for 6 years
After 6 years I thought I should give an update. These are NOT high quality fans and are NOT worthy of the premium price. Although the energy consumption is wonderful, the maintenance cost is outrageous. The electronics have some very serious issues. I have had to replace all of the wall switches multiple times (they seem to have a 12 -16 month life span,) about $50 each time, and now the receivers are all starting to go bad, ($120 each) the Lifetime motor warranty is a marketing ploy (the electronics are not part of the motor) and the warranty fine print indicates it is only valid in the continental US. It also turns out the electronics part numbers are the same ones found in very low end fans. I would rate this product as zero stars (but that is not available.) Learn from my mistake and avoid these pricy fans, they do not stand up over time. 1-2021 ************************************************************************************************************************ I am halfway thru the process of upgrading six 1980's era Hunter Classic fans with these Emerson ecos. I live on a Caribbean island, and electricity is very expensive here ($0.56 vs. $0.07 compared to the states.) We run the fans 24/7 for cooling, mosquito control and mold mitigation. Everything that I read indicated substantial electricity savings could be achieved by upgrading, so I bought one fan to install and test the electricity consumption. I did a series of KWatt tests on the old Hunter and the new Emerson. Here is some data that I recorded which may be helpful to you. When I was trying to get this info I was unable to find this anywhere on the web. The Hunter has three speeds, 1 (low uses 35 Watts/hour), 2 (uses 78 Watts/hour) and 3 (high uses 135 Watts/hour.) The Emerson has 6 speed, 1 (low uses 4 Watts/hour), 2 (uses 5 Watts/hour), 3 (uses 8 Watts/hour), 4 (uses 13 Watts/hour), 5 (uses 21 Watts/hour), 6 (high uses 31 Watts/hour) I upsized the blades from the Hunter 52" blades to 60" on the Emerson. My best estimate of airflow comparison would seem that they are very similar at low and high and that the Hunter medium would be an Emerson level 3. FINANCIAL IMPACT: When running one fan at medium speed 24/7 the savings are 70 watts/hour or 613 KWatts per year which at my electric rate is a savings off of my electric bill of $325 per year. If I run the fans at high speed the savings is $482 per year (this is a payback term of about 1 year or an IRR of 97% for you financial types.) Multiply this by six fans and the numbers are substantial. OTHER BENEFITS: - The Emerson creates no noise, not the case with the old Hunter that did the whir up...whir up...whir up and the click...click...click as the blades went around and the dangling chain slapped the side of the housing. - I had to have odd length down rods and was able to use ½" galvanized rigid electrical conduit (need to drill a couple of holes to accept locking pin) and a can of spray paint. - The Emerson motor housing is enclosed, no open vents to gather dust and require cleaning. - All controls are on the wall, no more 30 foot ladder climbs to change the settings. FINAL COMMENTS: I am sold and will be purchasing the last three replacements as soon as the budget allows.

Expensive, but worth the extra cost
Works perfectly. Purchased a Craftmade DCEP70OB DC Fan and it was poorly made, made a very loud clicking noise due to poor construction. Returned it to Craftmade and picked up this Emerson DC fan instead. The difference is night and day! This fan makes no noise. ZERO noise. It is also much more stable at the highest speed than the Craftmade model we returned. It does shake a little on the highest speed, but I have it on a 24" downrod and did no balancing on the blades. One thing to keep in mind is that this model DOES NOT come with a remote. So, you have to install the wall switch, which can be a little tricky. Especially if, like me, your socket does not have a white wire to indicate neutral and a black wire to indicate load. Both of my wires were black. So unless you have a voltage tester, you have to be very careful not to swap the wires because it will blow the controller (which the manufacturer clearly indicates on the controller is not covered by warranty). So, check your socket to be sure the wires are white and black, otherwise you need a voltage tester, or an electrician to do the install. By comparison, I like the wall controller much more than the remote, because the remote can be lost, but the remote makes it easier to install because a wall controller is not needed. All in all, this is a pricey fan, but if you're like me and want to leave it on all the time, this is the way to go because you will make your money back in saved electricity within two years, based on a constant high setting. I also liked that the motor has a lifetime warranty, which shows how well these units are built over the cheaper AC powered models. Our bedroom is now cool and comfortable at all times during the day. Great buy!

Not a great experience
Got the fan we were looking for; or at least we thought. Unfortunately the original fan and it’s replacement were defective.
