I like this lock!
I like that the lock is tight to the chain. It doesn't allow theives an angle to get bolt cutters in. Its hefty. I like it a lot. However as I said before it takes a little bit of work to fit the 12mm chain so it will lock. But, it can be done. The insurance program doesn't apply in New York State?!! No mention of that prior to the sale!

Lock just ok, barely compatible with 8018L Beast Chain
I purchased this lock because it is one of two locks that, per OnGuard, can be used with the 8018L Beast Chain to qualify for the "Anti-Theft Protection Offer". I ultimately sent the lock back. After a week on the beach in San Diego, the lock showed signs of rust. Admittedly, though, that is a very harsh environment. However, one of the yellow side pieces had also fallen off, and I can't justify that as easily. Lastly, I found it *very* difficult to close the lock with 8018L chain. It had to be positioned just perfectly with the tip of one link in the hole of the other: side by side as in my picture below, the lock would not close. Incidentally, after sending this back I purchased the other of the two locks that OnGuard insists you use with the 8018L chain, the 8046 disc lock. It is too big to fit through the links of the 8018L chain, so I had to send it back as well. I'll end up purchasing a lock that is *not* part of the "Anti-Theft Protection Offer" by OnGuard, but that is no loss because that offer too restrictive to be of value, in my opinion, anyway. So a word about the "Anti-Theft Protection Offer": As it is one of the "features" of this lock, I think it's important that customers understand how restrictive this offer is before allowing it to positively influence their decision to buy an OnGuard product. First and foremost, you have to *pay* them to register for it. (See pic). Oh, and the thief can't have used an angle grinder or any other power tool in the theft. How do you think a thief defeats a chain? They sit there and rub it with a file? Also, you have to register *one* bike or "motorsport vehicle" and then that's it. Registered your mountain bike but your road bike was locked up with your OnGuard and got stolen? You're out of luck. You have to use certain products (like the 8018L chain) with certain other products (like the 8046 lock it's not compatible with) or no reimbursement. The thief has to leave the broken lock or chain behind. You have to register within 15 days of purchase of the lock. The offer is void in NY, or outside the United States. And lastly, if your home insurance policy is going to pay you $3000 on your $3500 bike, they're only going to pay $500, not the $3500 value of your bike...but who cares, right, because it's never going to get that far since your thief used a battery-operated angle grinder? I wasn't tremendously impressed by this lock, and even less so with the offer that backs is up.

5star lock
One massive lock....but....just what you need to chain down a riding lawnmower. Had to start doing this as my last one was "swiped" from my back yard. With the beast chain it poses a very obstacle to anyone trying to just "run off" with my mower. As with anything else, if somebody wants to defeat this setup, they will but it would take a pro to do with this lock and chain.

Awkward to get locked
I use a long cable or chain for my recumbent trike and this lock is a little awkward to use as you have to have the cable or chain positioned exactly to get it to close. I bought another one that is easier to use than this one. It is heavy and there is no doubt about anybody not being able to break it open. I think you could shoot it with a RPG and it would not come open.

Tough lock
Use this with the beast chain for my 4x4 quad. Got it chained to a phone pole in the yard and hasn't been stolen yet. Mind you, nothing is fool proof but if they want it they'll have to work for it.

Insecure Security for Sale.
After having my first lock replaced, after the screws fell out of it, Todson sent me a new lock. Then the screws fell out on it. Both bottom screws, which renders the lock a doorstop. I cannibalized the first lock and put those screws into the second lock, and used LokTite to keep them in. Then the padlock would NOT unlock from the chain, making it worthless again. I addressed my concerns to Todson, and asked them if they'd pay the shipping to return it in exchange for unlocking their lock from the chain. No dice. I pay to ship it there and they pay to ship it back, with a new lock. It cost me roughly $30 to send it the cheapest UPS ground shipment. Now I have to wait a week for it to get there, and, I am guessing, another two weeks beyond that to get the product back. Had I known how much time I would waste trying to deal with their faulty locks, I would have just bought a cheap Master lock and have been done with it. Moreover, the design is such that you have to insert the longer of their chain's links in first, and then the shorter one, overlapping at just the right angle. While the concept is to deter theft, you have to spend time lining the links up--just so--or you cannot get it locked. And you have to use the key to lock it--it doesn't simply snap shut, like the rest of the padlocks in the world. Bicycling Magazine had this lock rated the best. Perhaps that was in exchange for a product endorsement. Who knows? If you forget your key, you can always disassemble it with an Allen wrench. Not very reassuring.

If the shackle fits
The shackle was too big for my needs so I returned it. But looked super sturdy. Had it fit, I would have kept it.

Highly Recommended
Excellent product. With this product and a matching chain I feel my motorcycle is secure.

bar that goes across opening is so thick that it won't fit thru most chains - otherwise good
As in title - I've not tested it when out yet due to not having a suitable chain! - I'd stupidly thought it'd fit my existing chain, oh well. It seems very sturdy, but I've no idea how easy it'd be for a cycle-thief to force open, except by reading reviews on cycling sites.

Cheap quality lock but the design makes it harder to cut. A guy on youtube picked it in less than 2 minutes.
