Outer clothing should fit just a bit generous to allow for under layers. I love this London Fog
This London Fog overcoat is everything I hoped. It is light weight but well fluffed and wind and rain resistant. The fur collar is removable but is a bit of a challenge to button back on. The hood zips off and back on readily. Have not washed it yet but am confident it will do just fine. I normally wear small but I got this in medium and it is perfect and allows for bulky sweaters or whatever. I am very sensitive to cold air but this coat has always kept me comfortable. I do add a bulky scarf to cover my face.

Love it - Except for the Faulty Zipper
This coat is a bit oversized - I could go down a whole size but I like leaving room for sweaters. (I have a medium but could go down to a small.) I want to love this coat so much- it’s waterproof, the hood covers my head, it’s comfortable, but there’s a major issue. The zipper constantly unzips. You know when your zipped up and then the zipper separates? It is infuriating. I already returned my first purchase of this coat for that reason. I wore my current (second delivery of this coat) for 1 whole month before it started happening. Now it’s a daily frustration. This would be my forever coat of it was not for the zipper.

Ordered twice, received 2 damaged so far
This is a gorgeous coat. I am a bit disappointed that I've ordered the coat twice and both were damaged and had to be returned. The first had a small rip on the back left side (see photo). The second (replacement) had clearly been worn and returned by someone who smoked. The whole coat reeked of cigarettes, especially the fur collar. I could smell it as soon as I opened the package. No tags were present on the coat. The coat itself is very warm and soft. Got an XL and it is a bit larger than I would have liked. But I am sort of between sizes. Would rather have it a little large so I can layer underneath. I am 5'9" and the coat was still about knee length on me. I am crossing my fingers that my next coat (and final attempt) will be undamaged and smoke free. I really love the coat and want to keep it! Seems like better qc process might help.

Great coat!
I had been looking for a black coat for a while for an upcoming trip. I'm very picky about my coats, but loved the style of this one and the great price. When I got it I was so excited, it fit so well! The fur around the neck gives it a classy touch. Also love that the hood is removable. I'm 5'0 and ordered a small - the coat hits me about mid-calf. If you're thinking about getting it, just go for it.

Quality is London Fog
Cannot beat a London Fog. Their products always have a nice feel and fit. I know that when I buy a product from London Fog the quality will be exceptional!!!! Beatiful color of pink and the collar is sooooo soft near the face.

Wonderful with a few flaws
I love this coat for a few reasons, the length for me is perfect and right at my knees, I usually buy a large in coats for comfort at bust area but only needed a medium which was nice, I LOVE that it has a fake fur collar around the neck, because my neck is always cold with short hair, that is a great and a cute feature The coat looks really nice on and I bought it because I have a shorter down LF jacket I got at Sams Club which is super warm. Now the not so good... the coat is not nearly as warm or soft as my shorter LF jacket and not even close to my LLBean coat, I can feel the cold through my arms and back in 39 degree weather, the down count must be much lower and I didn’t pay attention when I bought it , the zipper is also flimsy, I have to be careful and it’s not an easy zip up like my other coats. I may exchange it I’m not sure This coat is half the cost of my LLBean one, but I can kinda see why now

Solid coat, one concern
The jacket is really a coat--I am 5'4" and it reaches to just above my knee. I bought a medium and it just a bit loose. I can fit layers easily and have room to go. I really like the faux fur around the collar than the hood. It is soft and has eliminated the need for a scarf. Also, it's flattering near the face. This coat doesn't weight a lot, but it gives protection for around the freezing mark. We haven't had too much sub zero yet, and as I said, I do layer. I do not see this coat being good for sub zero--just not dense or heavy enough. But it is great for going places where you don't want a super big, heavy coat. The hood really fits, as opposed to making me look like Kenny from South Park. My one grip, and it is considerable. The zipper often, like almost all the time now, catches somewhere along the way in the zip up. The fabric surrounding the zipper is soft and no matter now conscientious I am about holding the edges back, a bit will always get caught. The good point is that it is easy to just yank the fabric back out and continue zipping, but is is super annoying. Given the price and other good features, I will get over it.

Updated review, does run a little large, not full size large
UPDATE: I've received my XL size, and it is huge. My normal size is XL, but I sized down and ordered the L first (see below). L was too snug around the waist when I wore a sweater, but XL has me swimming in shoulders and top. I do like the coat and will have to decide whether or not to go back to the L and deal with the snuggness when I'm layering, or just swim a little in the XL. Zipper is a little better on this XL than it was on the L, so the wonky zipper problem may depend on the individual item. Due to the reviews here saying the coat ran large, I ordered a size L instead of my usual XL. The coat was okay if I were wearing a Tshirt, but with a winter sweater it was too small. Hence, I'd say this coat is true to size. I returned for an XL as I liked the coat a lot. The Zipper is not great, as most reviewers say, but if you are gentle with it, it will work. The coat is not bulky but it's warm and comfortable, and the faux fur trim around the neck is great. The color I ordered was "Kale" and I'm not sure why it's called "Kale" as it's far more brown than green. There is just a hint of green in the brown, like someone put a dab of forest green into a pile of regular brown paint. It's mostly brownish. But the color isn't bad. I just hope the XL is not too large, as the L was only slightly small on me. Again, I'm usually an XL so this does not 'run small'. I have another London Fog coat (a wool coat) and that is XL and fits well.

Just right!
My only problem with this coat is the buttons holding the fur collar. It was put on backwards and now no button fits back into the opening of the fur collar. However, the coat is nicely made and very warm especially, when it was -31C and I was very warm and cozy. The fur collar is the only problem I can see at the moment!

Very stylish!
This is a really well made winter coat with pizzazz to boot! I am very pleased with the fit as I usually wear XL (5'9" and average build) and it is perfect for roominess and comfort. It falls just above the knee which I like as it covers the behind for added warmth. The collar is soft and I like that it is not around the hood but on the actual collar so you can have that up for more protection. The waist is slightly tapered in so it gives you a bit of shape too. I like the gunmetal colour as black is so boring for winter. I still have to try it out on a really cold day as I want to see how it performs in blustery conditions. Very glad I got this coat and looking forward to keeping it for many years.

Not as warm as I hoped
Nice coat alittle too big. We are having -20°C with wind, Not as warm as I hoped, wind goes through stitching. Also a long coat should never be made without a two-way zipper. This zipper will not last long.

Good fit, good warmth
Wasn’t exactly as shown in photo. Has a black faux fur collar that is removable, but buttons keep coming undone that are supposed to anchor it.

Great coat for a prairie winter
I'm very pleased with this coat from London Fog, which has been a brand choice of mine for many years. Love the colour, love the faux fur collar (so soft) and love the stylish fit. When looking for a down coat, I wanted one that was washable and this one is. This coat fit the bill from almost every standpoint. What I do wish it would have had would be a zipper that opens from the bottom as well as the top but this is a minor imperfection in an otherwise lovely coat. Delivery was as promised...thanks Amazon for excellent service! Wanda
