Nice curtains - Will shrink if you wash them.

I bought the 36" tiers in blue check. These have a classic, casual look. The workmanship is good. Tag says made in the USA of imported fabric. 100% cotton. It also says to dry clean. Out of the package, these measured exactly 36" from top of header to bottom. For my unique purposes, I wanted these to be just a bit shorter. I decided to take a chance washing and drying them because I thought they might shrink, and indeed they did shrink. I washed on cold, delicate cycle with some white vinegar to try to set the color. There seemed to be a small amount of color bleed, but nothing to really worry about. Then I dried them on normal/high heat. Well that trick worked perhaps too well because they shrunk a full 3 inches to measure 33". For my purposes it worked out - I am using these in lieu of a cabinet door to hide some shelves in my kitchen and otherwise the curtains would have dragged on the ground. The curtains provide much easier access than a door when space is tight. I just wanted to share my experiences with the shrinkage because you may or may not want that. If you do decide to wash them, I imagine drying on low heat or line drying would prevent some of that shrinkage. I think washing the fabric also softened it up a bit. The manufacturer does recommend dry cleaning so just be aware of what you are doing. Enjoy!

Wondering what color blue "blue" is?

It's a kind of royal navy, leaning more towards navy than royal. With off-white checks. It looks lovely, but take note that it has a tag that says "DRY CLEAN ONLY," even though it is 100% cotton. I expect that that means it will shrink when I wash it in cold and dry it on low. It has the weight and feel of one of those all-cotton napkins you get at Pier One imports, the ones that are usually made in India. Those shrink considerably, and I'll bet this will, too. Other than that, it looks and feels great! Update in August 2015: it shrunk, alright. Not enough to make it useless, but not an inconsiderable amount, either. Say an inch on length and another on width. Colors did NOT run, and there was some wrinkling. I just re-hung it.

Well Constructed and Great Price Point

I have oversized rustic kitchen chairs and I thought I was going to have to have cushions custom made, but this product has provided a perfect fit. I sprayed the cushions with fabric protector before tying them in place and so far, they have stayed spot free. I just wipe them off with a slightly damp cloth as needed. We have a large Maine Coon cat who has taken semi-permanent residence on one of them and getting his fur off is no biggie. They have provided just the right amount of cushioning and the construction is very good. There were comments from other reviewers regarding the stitching being irritating but this has not been the case for my family. I have had other tie-on cushions in the past and have had issues with the ties tearing off, but these are not even remotely showing stress at the seams with daily use. All in all a great value! I would purchase these again without hesitation. Highly recommend!

Good quality, but a little off-color

I purchased this valance because I had also purchased the matching 68-inch by 30-inch curtain. I chose the black color. The quality is good and I'm happy with the valance. We did have a slight issue- the color ended up looking green. It was kind of odd. Maybe it is the combination of the mini-blinds behind it and the sunlight shining through, but it looks green in the day time and closer to black when the sun is down. I pointed the new valance out to my husband when he came home from work and asked him what color he thought it was. He said "green." I told him it was supposed to be black! Oh, well. I wasn't really picky about the color anyway. If you're looking for a true black, I'd be cautious about ordering this valance!

Very comfortable chair cushions

These are very cute! I bought 2. I bought them for these new chairs my mom bought us, I wanted to keep them new looking, due to they have white fabric on the seat part, but I found out when I put them on the new chairs, they were to thick, so I do use the 2 cushions on my 2 older chairs we have that are very hard with no cushion, but these fit them perfect, you will see in one picture one is of the newer chair and one of the older chair. They are very comfy, the fabric seems very well made, nice and strong. I think these will last a long time. They have 2 ties in the back to secure it to the chair which I like. It's a very pretty blue. It would go with about anything!

Hides that open cabinet!

It took me quite a while to find the right size curtain for my needs, and this one fits perfectly! We have a built-in desk area in our kitchen that has always been an annoyance to keep up. It's like having open cabinets throughout your kitchen! So I got a pressure hanging rod and this 30-inch curtain, and voila! The color is not a cherry-red, but more of a brick-red. I'm really not picky about color, so I was perfectly happy with it. The fabric is thick and sturdy and seems like it will last quite a while.

VERY NICE QUALITY CURTAINS :)

I RECENTLY HAD MY KITCHEN REDONE IN MY APARTMENT. THEY TOOK OFF THE CUPBOARD DOOR UNDER THE SINK AND THE CUPBOARD DOOR NEXT TO IT. AND THEY INSTALLED NEW GREY COUNTERS. SO I PURCHASED A 5' ROUND GREY RUG FOR IN FRONT OF THAT AREA, AND THESE ADORABLE CURTAINS TO COVER THAT WHOLE AREA. I HAVE SPLASHES OF BLACK AND RED IN MY KITCHEN, AND THESE CURTAINS WERE THE ICING ON THE CAKE. I BOUGHT THE BLACK AND WHITE GINGHAM, 68" WIDE AND 30" LONG. I PURCHASED TWO PAIRS FOR A FULLER LOOK. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE CURTAINS TO EVERYONE. :)
