A great light; packaging did not prevent a ding though.

We got this light fixture to replace a very old florescent fixture in our laundry room, and it has made a great improvement in the room, not only in the attractiveness of the unit but also in the quality of lighting. This light looks beautiful and instantly gives a modern appearance to the room. It is slim and sleek, also lightweight, which helps during installation. The diffusor is good looking and the curve of it is a nice, elegant touch; in addition, it pops out easily for cleaning. Installation was quick and easy. It fit right in the grid where the old one was removed. I’m very happy with the brightness of the room, as it is much brighter than the old florescent light, and this unit allows for adjustment of the lighting, as long as you make the adjustment before you finish installation. The external junction box was simple to wire, was screwed into a beam, and attached with a cable, making wiring neat and accessible. The only negative is that the unit was bent a little when it arrived. It is hardly noticeable and, as it is a laundry room light, made little difference to us. That said, inspect your light upon arrival just to be safe.

Not really "adjustable" for modern standards

- Made in Taiwan It's well enough made, sturdy, slim. Having brightness and tone choices is nice and not all that common for insets like this. It's plenty bright and this brand has been reliable for us over many previous purchases. There's only one fuss I have but it's kind of big, to me. It's nice to have the lighting differences but there's no way to change it short of getting up in the ceiling. Somehow I assumed that there'd be an accessible switch (I was secretly hoping for an unmentioned remote but wasn't expecting it). I don't see a lot of good in paying for adjustable when it isn't, really, it's a pick one. It works great

It didnt come with some kinda mounting stuff we needed but we uh, drilled straight through the metal and hung it up into a board in the ceiling. Better than no light right now. The switch for the brightness works, it lights up the whole kitchen. We took off the cover tho, makes it brighter and easier to install with how we did it.

Seems well made. Very versatile

This is a nice, lightweight replacement for traditional fluorescent tube type lighting units. It does require hardwiring, so you should be familiar with basic electrical wiring before taking on this job. Suitable for new or replacement installation in drop-type ceilings as are common many commercial spaces. Adjustable light output and color temperature with three position slide switches.

Good quality, esp compared to cheap competition I've seen.

This lamp is a good example of the generally true old adage that you get what you pay for. In contrast to some of its less expensive (and definitely lesser quality) competitors that I rated unsafe back in April and June of this year, this lamp is well made and much safer. The place to look is the wiring box where 110 v connects to the lamp. In the cheaper competitors I showed in my reviews that the top of their wiring boxes could be leveraged off with very little force (e.g. the weight of a 16 gauge wire). With those lamps a 6 gauge wire or a gas line pulled over your drop ceiling (as I've had done) could easily rip the wiring box apart, exposing dangerous voltage into the metal framework of your drop ceiling. With this Lithonia lamp, the wires would stay secure. I've lost track of the images I posted for the older reviews or I'd have uploaded them here, but I have attached some images of the wiring box for this lamp to show how well it's made. Along with the wiring box, all other aspects of this lamp are also well done (with one exception noted below). All of the metal work is strong enough to endure a typical installation, yet light enough to not bring your drop ceiling down on your head. The LEDs and the controller are very nice. You've got three different warmth settings and three different brightness settings through switches mounted on the wiring box (no remotes to lose here). That's very handy for matching this light to any others you may already have installed, as well as giving you a preferred setting. In my setting I'm going with bright, cool, but your needs/tastes may vary. The one issue I have with this lamp is the mounting of the diffuser. You need to slip it under channels on the lamp that run along the long edges of the diffuser. The thing just would not stay put. I finally got it to stay, but when I returned to pick up the lamp it popped out on its own. I'm not going to take a star off for this because I expect the diffuser will eventually conform enough to its installed bent shape to stay in place. But expect some annoyance initially. I was about to start using some painter's blue tape to hold it in place for a while on my early attempts. You may find the need to do that.

Great replacement for fluorescent

We had the ballast go out on a fluorescent light. This was a great replacement. My husband installed it in the same 2x4 opening that he removed the old light from. This is nice and bright, and really clean on the outside (no need for a frosted plastic covering that yellows or breaks). My one challenge is that you have to select the brightness and lumens before you fully install it. The switch is not in a place where you can change it after installation. I wanted it to match the other light in the room on tone, so he adjusted it. Thankfully, it looked how I wanted it to look. Otherwise, it would have been a pain to change. I do like that it was adjustable because then you don't end up with one light that's an odd color tone.
