Slicker than a cats tongue

Actually, the calf's hair surface leather is very slick and should make for a clean release. I did have to ream out the hole that is for the finger to go through but that was no big deal. I like it.

Does what it is supposed to do; does it a tad bit uncomfortably

Ordered this because I needed an archery tab quickly shipped to me and this one was Prime eligible; I had a friendly match coming up and I recently lost mine. When the product came in, it looks like a regular split finger tab with smooth calf hair, which I prefer over a full leather tab. It is quite large, and it comes in only one size I believe. An earlier review mentions to get a size larger and trim down the tab if needed, but I was not able to choose a size. But as mentioned, trimming it down it a good idea if needed. In my hands, the tab could use a trim on the bottom fingers but I do not need to and I have above average size hands with pretty skinny fingers. When drawing the bow, my fingers barely fatigue and feel any pressure from the string, and shoots very smoothly. I actually like the way this tab shoots over my previous one. And for how good it is, it is much more affordable than the other tabs on Amazon. My one and only BIG complaint comes in with the finger separator on the tab. It is made with a very hard plastic and does not conform to the fingers really well and kind of hurts when drawing the bow. I have considered shaving the plastic down to smooth it out, but wish I wouldn't have to. To conclude, I just have to say: + It's a good tab, does what it needs to do with smooth calf hair + Shoots really well + On the larger size side, but easily trimmable + Super cheap, fast Prime shipping - Plastic finger separator is really uncomfortable Update: Also, to answer a question I noticed someone ask, it is intended for RIGHT HAND use. It could be used for left hand and still serve its purpose as to protect your fingers and smooth your shot, but it be terrible at it so only if it was your only option.

Quality Materials

I ordered this because I needed a finger tab quickly and this one was the closest to what I was looking for, for a decent price, and was Prime eligible. I prefer archery tabs to finger gloves, however, this one does not really work for me, personally. It is a typical split finger tab with leather on one side and smooth calf hair split with hard leather (which you can see in the item picture). I am female, so I have smaller hands and shorter fingers, but I do not have skinny fingers. So, the finger hole was tight, with no play in it and actually seemed like it should be further down into the tab. Because of this, the bulkiness of the hard leather makes the tab too big for my hand, meaning that it extends too far down my fingers, not allowing my fingers to adequately bend where the calf skin half of the tab is. Therefore, I cannot get a decent grip on my bow string. It also has a plastic finger separator on the tab which was awkwardly placed for me. However, it can be removed easily which works better for me anyhow, as I don’t like finger separators. In the end, I went back to gloves for now. All in all, this finger tab does not work for me at all because of the size and cut (and cutting it for me, as other reviewers mentioned, would not solve my specific problem). Nevertheless, it is a QUALITY piece of leather and the calf hair would allow the string to release very smoothly. So, it is still a product that I would recommend for the price, if your hands are a bit larger than mine and have longer fingers.

Prompt delivery, great price

I chose this product because I used this kind of item in the past and was very satisfied with it. That and the price were very good. However, it turns out that this tab is a lot bigger than the one I used in the past! I don't know if it's a one-size-fits-all, but it was unusable for me. I had to cut it to fit me so it's working for me now. I think it would be a good idea to give an idea of size. My hands are very small, and it didn't occur to me that I may be happier with the kids' model. I haven't tried that yet, but I think I will when I need to replace this one! Overall a great experience. The item arrived promptly and the price was great.

Good quality but needed to be trimmed

The quality of the finger tab is good, but it was much bigger than the old one I am replacing. The simple solution was to trim the edges and make the finger hole bigger, as needed, with scissors. It works great.

Works well, but isn't durable, even with a 31 pound target bow.

I decided to try using a tab after using a glove for years. I'd hoped that it would give a cleaner release, and be easier to use overall. While I did notice an improvement in the feel of the string, the upper portion of the lower tab began falling apart after I'd shot a dozen arrows with my 31# Golden Eagle and the bottom portion of the upper tab began tearing after another dozen arrows. I love the fit and feel of the tab, but I had serious issues with the thin leather portion of both tabs that contact the string. The backing part of the tab was still intact, but that's not what I wanted to use. If I do end going back to a tab, I'll choose a one-layer tab and forego the two layer design. On the positive side, the finger separator seemed to do a good job keeping fingers apart.

Made for a man with large hands

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use this tab, because it was too large. The leather on the back end of the tab had no give and when I curled my fingers around the string the hard leather was pushed forward (by my palm) so that the string set on the leather vs the soft part of the tab. I have medium sized hands ( I'm female) so this tab might work for someone with larger hands. The quality seemed decent. Seller please add size to the description.

Uncomfortable!

Quality is very good, looks great, well built, but the plastic piece that keeps your index and middle finger separated is very uncomfortable. After shooting a few arrows I already started feeling the discomfort caused by the plastic piece. I have the other version of the same tab without the plastic piece and it is great.

Decent finger tab, sort of reversible

Works fine, although the string is supposed to be on the hairy side I guess, which means you are an archer who pulls with your right hand. I pull with my left hand, so I flip the little plastic finger spacer to the other side, but the string is now on the suede leather side. Not ideal, but still works pretty well and prevents finger blisters. Would be nice if they offered this for left handed archers (i.e. those who hold the bow with their left hand).

Mostly junk

After twelve shots on a 40lb recurve it had mostly fallen apart. The hair had all pulled off over the index finger portion. A split in the backing developed near the base of the index finger portion as well. After 70 shots it was completely toast. You get what you pay for.
