Adorable shelf! Assembly was TERRIBLE
We love this shelf! It’s beautiful and was worth the price we paid. However, be prepared that the rods for the shelf were not drilled properly for assembly, and the screw for the rods are flat ended so it was nearly an impossible job to put together. I am thankful for my husband putting it together because I simply did not have the strength or patience and it was EXTREMELY difficult and frustrating. For the price, we’re happy with it. But BEWARE of the assembly, as many reviews have said. You may question your sanity putting this thing together

You probably need a drill.
I love this book sling! It was hard to put together with a screwdriver but when my husband pulled out the drill it took less than 5 min. Highly recommend

Nice buy at sales price
This has been the perfect casual bookcase for our small living room. It’s not the most attractive thing in the world, but at the sale price around $45 we found it a great buy. Holds maybe 40 baby books which is perfect for us!

Super cute and pretty easy to assemble
It’s super cute, neutral, and perfectly small! Seems sturdy enough, time will tell, and came with mounting supplies to make sure it won’t tip over onto any toddlers. I assembled it myself and I am horrible at building anything! You could just use a screw driver with some elbow grease, but a power drill really made the assembly easy. No complaints, and was on the more affordable side that I could find for neutral bookcases.

You need big books to be able to see cover
Pockets are too deep. You need giant books for your toddler (or anyone) to be able to see the cover. The kid is supposed to be able to see the cover.

The perfect bookshelf for a nursery!
This book shelf is exactly what I needed for my nursery! I saw lots of reviews talking about assembly being difficult, but I had it together in minutes! I think if you tried using a screwdriver it would probably be really hard, but I pulled out the power drill and it was easy breezy! I love that it’s shorter, as once my baby becomes a toddler she’ll easily be able to pick out whatever she wants to read! The one downside is that the pockets are too deep for smaller books, but I put a small towel in the bottom of the lower pockets and that helped so at least the titles are visible! I’m sure I could think of an even better solution given more time, but I was too darn excited to get it all set up!

As expected
I'm given a 5 star rating based on I got exactly what i wanted. I wanted storage for my babies books. The reason I chose to not get a bookshelf is i worry it would fall on my child. With this item, you get storage for books without worrying about it crushing your child. Now as far as the item. Its not wide, it fits perfectly in a small space in the room, which I was also looking for. I fit rough 30 books into it, small and big books. Now bare in mind, I'm not ocd about how things look, yes the smaller books just drop in sleeve, and you can't see them, but I'm also the type of parent that reads to their child, so honestly being able to see the cover of the books is not a big deal for me, and my son isnt complaining. The wood seems sturdy enough, better than i expected because some of the reveiw saying it was floppy had me worried... that's just not the case. Now I'm no expert, so maybe it's not real wood, but it pretty close especially considering the deal. It took me 10 minutes to put it together, mostly on my own, my spouse had to help because i started off using a very tiny screwdriver.. and was hurting my palms. He came in with a bigger Phillils screwdriver and finished it up. Instructions are in pictures, pretty easy to follow. Just use a normal size phillips head screwdriver with a good grip because some are a bit hard to screw all the way in. Work patiently, don't force the screws in... which is just basic assembly rules, or you can break the wood, but that would happen in almost any wood and screw scenario. So to sum it up. Shelf is as wide as say a 34 inch tv, maybe as tall as the average 2 year old, if your ocd this item may not be for you, be patient when assembling, and ask for help if you need it. This reveiw is based on me receiving the item I expected, and my expectations were met.

Much more sturdy than I expected!
I have a 2-year-old son who is going through a phase of temper tantrums, which include flipping over bigger toys and small furniture in his room and throwing things when I put him to bed at night. His nightstand is made of sturdy plastic and he flips it all the way over. He flips over his toy piano and toy kitchen. I knew I didn't want to get a real bookcase for him because I didn't want him to pull it down on himself so I started looking at book slings. I've heard great things about KidKraft and decided to order this book sling for my son's room. After ordering, and after my son's tantrums started getting worse, I was a little worried that my son would flip it over and that it wouldn't hold up. It came and I put it together and was surprised and happy about how sturdy and durable it seems to be! It hasn't been flipped over yet because my son has calmed down a little with his tantrums in the last week but I do think it would hold up to even his rough handling! It was also very easy to put together, and even included the tools needed to put it together which is always a plus! The only downside I've seen to it is that it is not made for smaller books. My son is still reading board books because he's too rough with his toys and books that I don't want to get him books with paper pages yet. Most board books are pretty small. His board books are about the same height as the pockets, but most of them we can see well enough to pick out a book. He does have one that is really small and cannot be seen as easily, but there is enough space, as far as the depth of the pockets goes, to reach in and get it, so it is not really a problem and I would still give it 5 stars.

Good quality wood and sling
Got this bookshelf assembled today. Good quality wood and sling. The bookshelf looks great after assembling and could hold quite a lot of kids books. Gave 4 star because found it difficult to screw the nails to the wooden rod. Had to use an electronic screwdriver to screw them with care. It's easier to assemble in this way and takes less assembly time.

the finishing was excellent and the wooden dowels all fit correctly
After reading some other comments I was a little hesitant about the bookshelf, but when the price dropped to the lowest point it ever gets (45 sterling) I had to get it. I can only speak for what was delivered to me but there were no mis-aligned holes, no extra drilling required, the finishing was excellent and the wooden dowels all fit correctly. Maybe there is some inconsistency in manufacturing but the bookshelf I received was perfect and just as described. PROS: Holds a good amount of books as the fabric is flexible and big enough to store books behind one another Sturdy enough and wide enough base for a young child to pull up on without pulling it over (unless he/she was really trying to do so) Very attractive and durable-feeling. Feels like a real piece of furniture CONS: Smaller books will not be very visible (you can easily remedy by rolling up a towel or cloth on one of the shelves to boost those books up) When you load up a shelf with more than a few books they do tend to lean a bit forward - I am not bothered by this too much I would recommend this to anyone. Although the price is a bit steep, it is much higher quality than anything I've seen in person for less money.

hard to install but good quality and good material
Great value and looks good good quality, very sturdy even when my 25-pounds toddler climbing on it... however it was very hard to install unless you have a electrical driller, and thank goodness we have one. and it was still not easy. so i would say if you don’t have one..... you need to make sure someone in your house is super strong and you at least have a pair of heavy duty gloves to help with the grip

Sturdy and good quality, but you need electric screwdriver
Received the shelves today and had them up and built with in 15mins of delivery. Really easy to put together (a grand total of 14 screws) very sturdy and feels quite robust. Good quality finish. The wooden dowels that hold the slings are a decent diameter (so hopefully will take some abuse from the kids/books) the wooden end panels and bottom support panel are a really good chucky size. The whole thing has a good sturdy weight without being to heavy. You do need an electric screwdriver to put this together, else I can imagine getting the dowels screwed in would be a nightmare. Highly recommended, so much so that I've ordered a second set for my youngest's bedroom too.

Not easy to assemble
I like the look and sturdiness of the product, but it was very difficult to assemble. Steps were easy, but parts were not cut properly. I was not able to do it by myself, asked for help. The screw did not go all in and very difficult to do for only one adult.
