Gets the job done, barely

We wanted to convert an old bathroom vanity to concealed hinges, but the overlay of the doors were not all the same and the doors themselves were thin, so regular cup hinges would not work. There are many of this same style of surface mount hinge on Amazon, but Liberty seems to be the only one that is from an actual "brand" so I went with Liberty. If you are expecting the same quality you get from a cup hinge you will be disappointed. They are floppy with pretty loose tolerances. Like other reviewers said, the springs are too strong. The doors feel kind of janky and "stutter" when you open and close them. The amount of adjustment possible is extremely limited compared to a cup hinge so it is hard to make the doors line up and look good. Overall there is not a whole lot to like about these, except that they fulfill the purpose of being a surface mount concealed hinge in the most basic possible way. If I was going to do the project over I would probably build or buy new thicker doors so I could use regular cup hinges.

Works, But Could Be Better

These hinges did the job they're intended to do, but with some frustration. Because of my application, and not wanting to router out hinge cavities, this type of hinge met my needs. PROS • Door stays open or closed as needed with spring action • Relatively easy to install, although frustrating to adjust (no adjustments available as posted in CONS) CONS • Very minimal adjustments; you can move the hinge back and forth, setting the depth of the door closure, but nothing else. Had to use shims to make other adjustments. • Hinge seems loose; door wobbles up/down and doesn't feel very tight • Value; this should be a 4 pack at least I installed the door side first, and make sure the gap was as specified as per instructions. I then attached to panel wall. This method seemed easier to me since I know exactly the distance the hinge needed to be on the door side. There seems to be a little play in a few of the hinges, causing the door to sag a little, depending on where the hinge is installed. I used magnetic catches along with these hinges to make sure the door closes and doesn't sag. If I needed to use this type of hinge again in the future, I'd look for this style, but look around for other manufacturers that have some adjustments and minimal play in the hinge.

excellent value

Better than expected. Included screws were of perfectly reasonable quality; I pre-drilled as recommended in the instructions and used good #2 philips, and I had no problems (this is in response to someone's comment about poor screws). You get *two* hinges in a 1-pack (and presumably 4 in a 2-pack). Hinge action is as advertised. Adjustment is, exactly as expected, very limited and requires that screws go only into the elongated slots -- once you screw through the round ones, the position is fixed. If you are doing (full or partial) overlay, *ignore* the mark on the hinge that says "door" -- this part is attached to the panel for overlay installation. It would be better if there was no label on the hinge at all. I used this for something like an access panel, and I wanted the door to extend outside of the frame, equivalent to 20mm thick panel, and that worked out fine.

These Hinges are Awesome !!

Awesome set of hinges for $7. Used these as inside corner hinges for a walnut box with a relatively heavy lid. Hinges are sturdy and easily support lid at a 180 degree straight up and come to a perfect 90 degree close. Couldn't be happier and would rate a 5+++.

Solid hinge, great price

Great price, works well and is handy when you don't want to use a mortise. Only complaint is that they snap closed a little stronger than I would like but that may be a benefit in some applications.

concealed hinge

I would give it a 5 but I had a little trouble using the template. May just have been me. Did better on my own. I built a small type cabinet and had to use a concealed one. If I build any thing like it again I am going to allow for another type. These are kind of hard to find and not a lot of choices. I would recommend it over any others I have used.

confusing

The instructions were rather confusing. I called the mfr. twice to clarify some points. The hinges are of good quality. I bought six for my project, and all six matched. But installation and alignment were tedious. They need better instructions or maybe an entire re-engineering of the product. ALSO: The doors only open to 90 degrees. My customer later replaced these hinges with 180-degree-opening hinges.

The templates are a little confusing and the included screws are basically garbage but once installed these hinges do exactly what you want them to.
