Excellent upgrade for our kitchen outlet!

Great upgrade to our old kitchen outlet. We love having a USB port so handy! Will be purchasing more to place in other locations around the house. The only con would be the pressure needed to plug, some plugs need a little more force than others. But nothing we can’t work around.

Leviton.....great at always.

We only buy leviton as their quality is far superior to others on the market. If you are only considering price, look elsewhere. If quality and aesthetics matter, Leviton is worth every penny!

Make sure you have enough room in your box!

Like all USB / AC outlets, these take up extra space. Even more so because they are GFCI. Fortunately, it replaced an existing GFCI outlet. What I really don't like though - this has pigtail leads which means five wire nuts or equivalent. I would have greatly preferred screw terminals. And because the pigtails are 12ga stranded, they don't work with push-in terminals (Ideal) that I prefer over wire nuts. Probably OK with 222 connectors but I didn't have those on hand for two poles.

Finally! A GFI and USB - Check your electrical box depth first!

My family loves to sit at the kitchen island and charge their phones. Only problem was I could not find a GFI replacement and I didn't want to swap the breaker out. I've installed many of these, non gfi outlets, in my kids rooms. Keeps me from having to keep track of blocks. They've all been usb A but times are changing and I need ones with at least 1 C. I bought two and installed in the kitchen no problem. Reminder to first check the depth of your electrical box. These are some fat big boys, bigger than just GFI outlets. I had the room but I checked the depth prior to buying these. If you have an older home, you may have trouble with space in existing boxes.

Large

As many have stated this outlet is very large and was difficult to get into the box. I have a standard single gang plastic box with two 14 gauge wiring. I used Wago wire connectors instead of wire nuts which helped. Took me 4 attempts with bending the wires into the box so it would fit. Had to trim some of wiring just to make it fit. I can’t imagine doing this with 12 gauge wiring.

It's BIG

I bought these for our new kitchen, and they are REALLY cramped in the boxes. The boxes are adjustable and we were able to make them fit with a box extender, but I can imagine they might not work in all boxes, particularly small or cramped one. I LOVE to use them though. They're super handy if you need to charge up something via USB quick without needing a separate charger. Just make sure you have enough room! Otherwise the GFCI works just like regular GFCIs. You can still use them to provide GFCI protection to other outlets as well, although of course tripping one will trip the others.

Not fast charging

There is nothing fast about the charging speed for this outlet. I have a completely new installation from the outlet to the pole outside, and everything in between. Otherwise the outlet is fine, if quite large. Just don’t expect fast charging capabilities.

Works great.

It is definitely big, so you may want to make sure you don't have anything that's blocking the back of your electric gang box. But so far everything works great and it matched the old GFCI wiring perfectly.

Good

I’m pretty happy with it. Make sure your electric box is deep enough. Cable management in the box will be a little tricky but that’s expected with all the all in one usb/outlets because they are just so big. I did get an open box and that’s always disappointing. Someone probably tried to install it and there wasn’t enough room in the electric box.
