Plan your box orientation!

If you need the plug to be oriented a specific way, you have to plan out your new work boxes early, one of mine ended up on its side. Also doesn't extend much beyond the box, so it may take extra attention to get the drywall transition neat. The plug is riveted in, so if you spraypaint it, you have to get minute masking the plug.

Solid good quality

This plate and receptacle are high quality, not made cheaply. I feel comfortable with knowing I will hold up and it is safe. Used it in a closet where I converted a pull chain light to a strip fixture with motion activation.

Works well

Works great but had to drill my own holes so it would fit properly other than that item works as described

Great item for the job

This item is nearly impossible to find at my local hardware stores. This is a much better alternative to using a screw in adapter to convert outdoor lights to outlets for things like Christmas lights. I used this in my backyard patio to convert a wall light into hanging string lights from Costco. Makes the patio look 100x better, and gives off a much better glow of light, than the single 100w bulb did. Note that there are two types of electrical boxes used for outdoor lighting. If the plate is too big, you can easily drill out the plate to accommodate a smaller light box. I had to do this myself. The receptacle will still fit inside the small box.

Just what I needed to plug in my new chandelier

I removed a ceiling fan for a chandelier I created. This worked well to place a receptacle where it was now needed. When and if I need to do this again, I will buy this once more.

We used this to replace an outdoor sconce light w hanging lights

Take out the old light, put this in, attach wires, tighten. Oh yeah, you may want to turn off the power first ;,) Then plug in your strip of LED lights into this and BINGO - you're in business.

Good option for protected locations

I used this to convert a flood light receptacle to an outlet under the eaves of my house. Fortunately this location is protected from rain, otherwise I would have had to find a way to weatherproof it. It also isn't attractive but is hidden in my installation. I wish there was a better option for outdoor applications but this will work for me.

Good fitment but not the prettiest

Used to replace a blank ceiling fixture so I could wire in a plug in led. The piece would be nice if it came in white and without all the letters on it. I added on a blank ceiling plate to make it a little more pleasant on the eyes.

Great problem-solver

I needed to convert a ceiling box to an outlet to use a plug-in LED ceiling light. This did the job perfectly. Clearance is low enough that I was able to fit this into an older standard depth box with several wire connections, which was my only concern when ordering.
