Clean, elegant solution

This was the ideal item to solve the problem of an overcrowded dual gang box. With an extra .6" of depth the box can now accommodate additional wiring and bulkier WiFi switches. Easy to install; switches do not need to be disconnected. It perfectly matches a Leviton faceplate and needs no additional moulding or painting, forming a normal looking box which stands off from the wall slightly but does not protrude or interfere with traffic.

Life saver

These spacer rings are a life saver when working on older external gang boxes. I used this to allow me to add the newer smart switches which are "thicker" than standard size. Saved me from having to change current gang boxes. Can't find these things in the big box stores on the shelf. Well worth the money.

Just what is needed for old house and new smart switches.

This spacer ring works and fits perfectly. I just moved into an old house with these incredibly small gang boxes. Can't replace them because there just isn't enough room to take them out without tearing up the wall. I bought a bunch of the Amazon smart switches to remotely control my lights with ALexa and found out they are too deep to go into the small gang boxes. This spacer plate/ring is the answer!!! Made it easy to install the smart switches and have enough room for all the extra wires. I just wish I could find them in the single gang version as I have a few of those I'd like to upgrade.

Good 2 gang spacer

Good 2-gang spacer. Made room in the tiny box that the house had. Only downside was the little tabs that do not allow it to sit flush against the wall. Other than that, it was perfect for what I needed.

must have item to install large WiFi switches into small/shallow wall boxes

Using this spacer ring is cheaper/faster than putting in a new wall box. It does stick out of the wall about 1/2" and match "Standard" size 2 gang wall plate perfectly.

Decent but not perfect

Left a good portion of the board exposed unlike traditional boards which are flush to the wall

Nice product.

The quality and ease of use is great. FYI, make sure your cover plate matches the length/width dimensions of the extension or else the edges of the cover plate will extend out and look weird. It still works, it just won’t look ideal.

Leviton's Decora extender can not accommodate larger Decora covers

Leviton makes two types of wall covers for single and double-gang boxes... Standard and 5/8 extra oversize. Many who pick the oversize Decora covers do so to cover large drywall issues around the existing outlet. All of the installations that I need these box extenders for are also oversized double gang holes... as I ran electrical PVC conduit boxes and piping in my walls for eventual cable/keystone runs. When I purchased the Decora 41290-DRW, it wasn't clear if it could work for both of their wall plate solutions. Unfortunately, as you can see in my photos, it can only accommodate their standard (small) covers. There's an actual groove that the small decora plate will snap into. Excuses in advance if this statement will sound funny, but I need plates that will offer increased depth and width coverage... and these only over increased depth. An alternative product I found was Arlington Industries BES2 (2 denoting double gang). I think you can get the BES1 through Amazon. Anyway, the BES2 is the BESt fit for the Decora oversized plates. In fact, it accommodates both standard and oversize decora plates. The BES extenders are also very heavy-duty, while the Decora DRW boxes are thin plastic. The Arlington BES1 and BES2 are also cheaper alternatives, but I won't get into a dollar comparison. So to summarize... if you just need depth, and Amazon has it in stock, get the Decora DRW. If you need greater width and strength and can spend some time searching for a dealer, try the BES2. As these DRWs do not suit my needs, they will be going back.
