No more giving myself a heart attack by flipping the wrong switch

I've lived at my home now over 15 years but a week didn't go by that I swear I would flip the garbage disposal switch by accident and it like to give me a heart attack every time. It was high time I did something about it and I can now say since installing this several months ago I haven't flipped the wrong switch a single time. Such a simple little change but a huge improvement in my heart health. I'm sure whomever ends up in this house whenever the day comes for us to move, they will appreciate this small but effective home improvement.

Good option for a heater switch

This was easy to install for my bathroom overhead heater. There are 4 switches right next to each other and I was tired of turning the heater on by accident. This switch is a little bitter wider than average, but otherwise fit in the space a normal switch would, I just wouldn’t put two of them next to each other.

Red for garbage disposal

My wife was worried about the disposal switch getting flipped out of habit, it was a light switch before our remodel. I ordered this switch being it was red and 20 Amp. Now that it is red no more flipping on the disposal by accident.

Works perfectly, I use it as the switch for an overhead heater, red helps people know what it's for.

I bought this to use in a 3-gang set of toggle switches where the other two are plain white toggle switches. This is in a basement bathroom that I constructed, where one switch turns on the overhead light in the vent fan, the other turns on the vent fan itself, and the red switch turns on the heater that is also part of the vent fan. The heater draws about 1400 W, and I probably would've been fine getting a 15-amp rated red switch for it, but these 20-amp switches have a more solid build and feel to them and from what I understand there should be less chance of the switch failing due to overheating because it's rated to handle higher wattage loads than what my heater calls for. The vent fan/light/heater is on its own dedicated 20-amp circuit as per code requirements, so that was also a factor in why I felt more comfortable getting a real heavy duty 20-amp switch to operate the component of the vent fan/light/heater that draws the greatest load. The only thing to be aware of is that the toggle on the switch is slightly wider than a normal 15-amp toggle, so it may look a bit weird or recessed next to 15-amp toggles. I bought some plastic spacers and put them in behind this switch so that it sticks out more from the wall and doesn't appear as recessed.

Red switch for garbage disposal

Helps prevent confusion when placed next to kitchen light switch to operate garbage disposal. You notice the red color but it looks just fine with a white cover plate. Switch feels extremely heavy duty and I’m sure will work fine for devices up to 20amps.

A well built switch.

A great addition for a switch that stands out so no one will shut it off without checking the reason it is on. The bright color shows up well. I use it for the furnace switch.
