Good Hybrid Work/Fashion Coat
I have been looking for a coat that meets several requirements and this is the closest I've found. 1 - Range of motion: This has fairly shallow arm gussets and doesn't have quite the range of motion as a Duluth Trading or Carhartt but it's good enough. 2 - Style: I kinda go for the Huckberry look, slightly retro and outdoorsy, a little butch, a little urbane. This fits the bill pretty well. It's not as stiff and shapeless as a real working man's jacket so it works for more casual use. I also really do not like branding. I don't want to wear a logo so I don't like Carhartt. A lot of Whitetail jackets have a big "legendary" patch on the arm which is a no for me. This one has a subtle leather patch on the side pocket. I'm okay with that. 3 - Fit: This is a tough one. I'm 6'1” and 230 lbs. My dress shirt size is 17/34 so I'm never sure whether to get a large or extra large. I got the XL in this and it's a little too big but not ridiculous. Arms are a little too long, shoulders a touch wide but overall about as good as I usually find. If not for my pot belly I would probably take a large. 4 - Pockets: I'm pretty specific here. I want good hand-warming pockets not the horizontal ones you see on most chore coats. This coat has those and snap-closure pockets on top of the hand warmers. Clever. I also want at least one secure breast pocket inside and outside. This has two of each. Winner winner chicken dinner. 5 - Durability: I am not a hardcore buy it once type but I do want stuff that lasts. I just got this so it's an open question. It's all triple stitched with rivets at stress points and the cotton poly shell is a tight weave. Some reviews show failing snaps which is often the weak link for clothing as it's easy to mess up. All mine look secure. 6 - Stand/flip down collar: I'm negotiable on this point but I strongly prefer a stand collar that can keep my neck warm but flip down nicely for casual wear without looking all janky. It's hard to find and this one is absolutely perfect. 7 - "Just Right" Warmth: I live in New Jersey. It rarely gets super cold so I don't want something I'm going to cook in. At the same time I need a little insulation. This one is just right - good for 30s and 40s and it will probably work for colder temps if you layer properly. 8 - Easy On/Off: Taffeta-lined sleeves and easy zippers are a must for me and this one has both. Also, the snaps are big sand easy to use with gloves. 9 - Value: There are a lot of $50-$70 coats out there that are just too poorly made to bother with. At the same time you can spend $250 or more and end up with something that's not much better, especially if it's got some designer's name on it. At $130 this is a solid value. It's not artisanal hand waxed Japanese canvas, but it's not cheap, crinkly fabric either. It won't fall apart in a season but it's also not the end of the world if I leave it on a train or something. 10 - Versatility: I'm not a longshoreman or an urban fashionista, I'm a suburban dad with a desk job and a lot of chores. I want to be able to throw on a coat and go to the store, then come home and change my car battery or fix a screen door. This is the coat for all that. Conclusion: I have looked at a LOT of jackets, new and vintage, and this is the only one I have found that meets all the above requirements. It's not 100% - I wish it was a little more tailored and would prefer a more natural-looking fabric to this smooth microsuede but overall it's something I expect to wear a lot and for a long time.

It looks so sexy!!
I bought this coat for my guy in January, I have since ordered directly from the company website. Their clothing line 100%. The coat looks so sexy on my guy. But most importantly it is very rugged and holds up well. We have a cabin so there is a lot of work being done in it. I've washed it a few times and it still looks like new! I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

ive gotten compliments on it. its a step up from carhartt work style jackets. the waxed canvass is a natrual fiber which i like. it can leave a bit of oily residue on bags so take care. the lining is nice and unlike other waxed jackets the pockets are in the right place for cold hands. most other waxed jackets are at least double the price which for me was 100 after discount. its a great value with the double zipper, courderoy collar and elbow and shoulder patches. if you dont want to spend 500 on a barbour or filson jacket but want something a step up from carhartt go for it!

A very good jacket.
This is a good rugged jacket. Warm but not to heavy. A spring and fall coat. Appears to be made well and fits well. I bought the 4XL00

Good design, strong fabric - Make sure to get the right size
I wear a large and it fit fine, however if you have a bit of extra girth around the middle I would recommend an extra-large. Zipped up, I would like to have had a bit more room in the chest area but that is just a personal preference.

For me, arms super roomy but a bit short, chest too snug - odd fitting vs. others tried
I have been trying to find a good jacket and shirt jacket. Whitetails so far has had some nice quality and this is no exception, but it fits in a very odd manner. As there is no L available anywhere at the moment, I have the M size of Legendary Whitetails Men's Oakridge Vintage Washed Canvas Jacket which fits in every regard perfectly except for being a little bit snug for putting many layers underneath. Arms are good length. Chest is good fit. Overall, it fits in every regard perfectly but does not leave a lot of extra room. This in size M (same size as other one) has huge puffy and super roomy arms from the shoulder to the wrist, but they are shorter than the M in the other jacket. In spite of the tighter chest, the colar for me is huge and when I snap it shut it messes with my throat and chin in an comfortable manner. This in size M (same as other) has a much tighter chest. I think they made the arms extra roomy to make this a work jacket with plenty of room for movement, but why did they make them short? Hmmm... It is a very well made jacket as far as I can tell, but the fit is odd as described and does not work for me.

Great Looking Fragile Jacket
The Jacket's design and overall look is excellent. The red and black checkered liner looks great even though it's pretty thin and cheap. The fit is fairly true to size unless you have a bit of a gut. If your 5'9" to 6' or so and 185lbs to 220lbs then an XL should fit pretty good. Not for long arms though. My concern is that the material is not nearly strong enough. I can totally see a branch puncturing a hole without much effort. I bought this as a bushcraft / camping and fire making wilderness jacket. Going through dense bush cutting fire wood and gathering dead fall. It's too fragile for that. I'm guessing a spark from the fire would easily burn a hole too. Like others have mentioned, the picture of the guy wearing it doing a barbed wire fence is pretty laughable. It would probably do alright for regular wear and tear if it's not being used in abrasive type conditions. I decided to return mine and bought a Carhartt Full Swing Armstrong Jacket. For 60.00 more it's at least 4 times as durable. Cheers

Comfy
I like it. I mean, it's really quickly obvious that it's china made, the big MADE IN CHINA label gives it away, and from that I can say that the "canvas" is pretty cheap feeling, not something you would get from a north american manufacturer, but you would also probably pay twice as much. This is going to me my going to town coat, so we'll see how she holds up. Overall, for the price, I'm happy. Size was close, it's tight in a couple of places but matched the size chart pretty good.

Buena chamarra

Amazing jacket. Highly recommended.
Sizing was bang on. Super heavy quality, nice retro look, very warm, very sturdy. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a good work/casual jacket.

Fits almost like a Columbia 6x... nearly perfect!
Bib and sleaves are both sufficiently long enough for my 6'4" body's trunk and proportionately long arms, without the ridiculous pumpkin like diameter of a 5x Carhartt jacket (with their annoyingly too short arms)! IMHO
