Exactly what I wanted

I wanted a plain black frame for a poem that was printed on 8 x 10 paper. I had to cut the paper down a little to make it fit. The 2 clasps on the bottom are stiff. I would recommend this frame.

Black frame, unusual 8x12 shape, Made in China cheap, easy to insert photo, nice finished result

QUICK SUMMARY: I wanted an inexpensive, but nice, simple, 8x12 frame to display a graduation photo of myself. This one had mostly good ratings so I tried it. Now I'm buying a 2nd one. Background: I printed a terrific graduation photo of myself on a photo website on rather rare 8x12 paper. Since that's an unusual size, I went with Amazon in search of a frame and came up with this one. WHAT I LIKE: - The prior customer reviews were mostly positive - The packaging was suitable to the task; the frame (which is a fragile thing, really) was protected and undamaged - It was cheap, but not cheaply made (for what it is) - The black frame is simple, and, well, perfectly black - It was very easy to insert a photo from the back, just remove the back panel, insert the photo, and replace the panel - It has a very thin glass (I think it's glass) plate to protect the photo - The stand seems nicely sturdy - It looks great! WHAT COULD BE BETTER: - I wish the black frame had been engraved to give it a more elegant look; it's just a flat, black matte border CONCLUSION: I have two photos to frame in 8x12 size. I bought this one to try out. I'm buying a 2nd now to use with the second 8x12 photo. Recommended!

Glad this exists

I ran into a bit of a dillema with a photograph I had taken. The sensor on my digital camera produces an 8x12 image, which is normally cropped here and there whenever I need an 8x10 print. Unfortunately, this image didn't have 2 inches I cared to crop and if I merely re-sized it I would introduce all kinds of distortion which I didn't want. So I printed it 8x12, figuring that such a frame wouldn't be terribly difficult to find at a craft store. Turns out 8x12 is a pretty unusual frame size. I spent a day at Micheal's, Target and even (shudder) Wal-Mart before giving in and looking here. Reminds me why I shop Amazon so much. The frame is as good as or better than any similarly priced frame at a craft or retail store. I use these kinds of frames to give photos as gifts, since it is an order of magnitude less expensive than a custom framing job and still manages a very nice presentation. It hangs on the wall beautifully and tastefully compliments the image inside. I'll be buying several more for framing Christmas gifts.

It's a nice frame at a good price

It's a nice frame at a good price. It would be better if it showed on-line what the back of the frame looks like, including hanging hardware. It will require picture hanging wire if you want to hand it horizontally, which is no issue for me. And it would be improved by more metal clips to press the back board against the glass. I used some paper shims in the corners bec the board was not pressing the photo against the glass.

Nice, Solid Frame

Frame isn’t super fancy but it’s a very nice, solid feeling item. It definitely doesn’t feel cheap and it feels like it’ll be around for awhile

Good for it’s price!

It’s not a high quality frame, wood with plastic, but for the price I didn’t expect more than that. Has a hook to hang or a leg to stand on a desk. Hangs straight on my wall- I’m pleased!
