Perfection. These are the best camp light sources.

No doubt a campers/emergency must have. The case keeps the ash mantles safe and I lijj oh e line one a propane tank tree with my stove and bbq on each side.

Great lantern. Speedy shipping. Secure packaging. A+++

Do you have hairy hands but hate using razors to shave them? This is the tool for you! Just put the lantern together and crank up the propane. Let it sit for a minute or so and introduce a lit match to it and WHOOSH!! Hair is gone! So is the flame from the match and quite possibly, the match too!! Haha!! On a serious note: this lantern is amazing. It is really bright, it includes two mantles and a book of instructions with pictures. It's all pretty simple. The carrying case is a brilliant idea which works in my favor because I'm clumsy and glass is in danger around the likes of me. There are two little foam cubes included. It took me about 20 minutes to figure out what they were for because the instructions are in Spanish, French, Italian and English but luckily for me, all the pictures were in English so I just looked at those. The cubes are padding for the lantern housing to rest against during storage and transport. For the money, this is a great purchase. I'm excited to have this in my camping inventory as I take my wife and children on our first cabin campout at the Lake of the Ozarks this summer. By then, the hair will be back just in time to get sizzled off again. I will return later and give an updated review after I put it to its intended use for a week. Nice Propane Lantern

Used this for the first time this past weekend, so I've only had limited experience so far. (I'll update this review if I run into a problem later.) Some brief highlights: * The lantern works quite well. It puts out a good deal of light and is well constructed. *Like other reviewers, I am concerned about the possibility of cross threading the soft aluminum header in the lantern versus the propane tanks. When attached the propane, take your time and be careful not to over tighten. * I think it is well worth the money to buy the version with the hard case. It is a nice case, easy to put the lantern away and makes is great to pack. * Like any propane product, there is some propane "hiss" while it burns, but I didn't find it bothersome. Possibly I expected some, so wasn't surprised. * This lantern does NOT have a ignition built in,so you have to use a match or a small torch, but it was easy enough to light. Overall, a good lantern. We'll see how it holds up with time. The only reason for the 4stars instead of 5 is the issue with the soft aluminum threads. August 2010 Follow Up: Still using it and it is working great! We don't camp all that frequently, so I won't say we've given this a hard workout, but it gets used each summer and is always up for the task. Still strongly suggested.

Alot more durable than I expected

We bought two of these one for night fishing and one to store for emergency situations. On the second fishing trip I hooked the lantern handle with a trouble hook and casted the lantern about 10 feet on the side of a concrete spillway. Poof lights out. Come to find out, the only thing broken was the mantle from being jostled. Not even a crack in the glass. These things are impressively well made.

Great Lantern, Great Case

I've used Coleman lanterns for a long time now and have always thought highly of them. So when I started looking for a new one and saw they now come with a protective case, I was sold. That was the only bad thing about the old lanterns, it was easy to bread the globe during transportation and storage if you weren't careful. This case looks like it will stop that in almost any situation. It also opens up very wide to make it easy to load the lantern(minus the propane, its a little safer that way) into the case correctly and securely. Great product overall.

Great lantern

This is a great lantern and we were looking for one with a hard case. It was easy to set up and get ready to use. The only drawback is the mantle's that came with it were defective. We meant to buy a spare pack before we left and forgot. So my advice is to make sure you have some back-up mantle's in case yours are defective or just don't light up properly. Overall a nice lantern.

Plastic

This lantern is amazing. Everyone loves the warm light camping and hunting. Brighter than you will ever need. The 4 star is for the plastic dial. The top is a nice metal, while the dial and surrounding bottom are is plastic. The dial feels cheap and flimsy. I can't see it lasting 5 years. Aside from the plastic, the performance is 5 star

Worth!

I've used this on several camping trips this year. It doesn't have all the bells & whistles (like the piezo starter) but, it worked flawlessly. The carrying case is great too. Got it on sale & would buy it again... although, i'm hoping I don't have to buy a new one for a long time.

Portable Light

We have always depended on Coleman Double Mantle Propane Light, practical and portable. We really like the carrying case, no more breaks! Love Camping! Summer is far from over.

Super pour le camp!

Parfait pour le camp, bonne luminosité. Le seul hic serait les manchons avec la tige de métal au lieu de la ficelle: plus difficile à installer et ils sont tombés quand j’ai voulu déplacer la lanterne.
