Works quite well and has illuminated distant areas outside. Great ways to clip on and attach. Rain or snow doesn’t bother it. Magnets hold tight to metals.

Very bright, with very strong magnets

Although the directional-pointing capabilities of this light might not be considered as robust as those lighting products with a flexible neck, there are enough positional variations to meet most situations adequately. The compensating benefit is the extremely bright LED lamp, with a good spread of light diffusion over a work area that covers one's field of view at close range (1' - 2'). The powerful fixed magnets on the base hold very well (with battery installed, the whole unit is a little on the heavy side), but the fact that the two magnets - smaller circular "dots" roughly 1" apart - are permanently fixed, means that the attachment surface needs to be about 1-1/2 to 2" wide in order to attach the light securely. I use this almost exclusively in network / server mounting rack scenarios, the frames of which mostly provide enough area to secure the unit (mostly vertical surfaces, even if only on the flat, clear spaces on cabinet-height power strips), and have found this light to be invaluable in freeing up both hands to do cable and device installation /removal tasks in tight quarters. I find myself moving the light frequently when routing cables, because of the rotating limits of the light head: it swivels about 90 - 120 degrees "up and down", and 180 degrees "side to side", so to extend the range of the light path, it is mostly just a matter of reversing the mounting orientation of the full unit by 180 degrees itself, which then reverses the range of the light coverage. Of course one can place this unit on a flat horizontal surface as well (even on the floor), and there are many opportunities to do this and still get good lighting on your task. Upside down from the top panel of an equipment rack? No problem. NOTE: As you may have already noticed, the battery and a charger are only offered as separate purchases. Not an inexpensive investment, but it is a rugged unit and I have gotten considerable usage out of it in only the two months or so I have had it. Is constructed such that it should provide long lasting performance. Battery reviewed separately, and I really haven't specifically tracked the life-between-charges, but I would say conservatively that I have used it in certain stretches for about 6 hours a day for 3 - 4 days running before needing to recharge.

Make sure you know this is the 12v not the 20v

Ensure you want this 12v version of the light, not the 20v version. I messed up, and now I need to buy a battery and perhaps a charger too.

Very useful

I really like this lamp. It is very versatile, with its clip, stand and magnets. The direction can be adjusted to cover the complete hemisphere above it. I already had two Li-ion batteries for it, otherwise it would have been too expensive. It provides good light for fairly close-up work. You certainly cannot look straight into it without it hurting your eyes, but it is not an area lamp. I dropped a star because it does not have a focusable lens to adjust the spread of light, which I would have liked to see. I have attached a picture to show the falloff characteristics. The are three distinct circles; a bright hotspot in the middle, which I measured to be about 5° in diameter, then a slightly dimmer area about 15° wide, and finally the outer cone at about 55° wide.

Lampada 12V Dewalt

Ottima lampada molto versatile grazie ai molteplici modi in cui si può usare (es. testa snodabile, calamita e fissaggio cintura). Sufficientemente luminosa ed autonomia infinita grazie alle batterie condivise con l'avvitatore. Con l'intensità regolabile sarebbe stata super perfetta.

Pretty impressed

Cool tool. Locally, these were available for around $65. Glad I found it here for $20 less. I was a little perturbed that it took 4 days to get it in the mail, but once there, it got here quickly. Overall, I like the product's design and quality of build. Pros: Solid build Uses same battery I use for my DeWalt cordless devices Strong belt clip Switch feels solid and well made Compact size. Hangs well on my tool belt. I hardly know it's there. Cons: Hotspot. This is a short range work light. The lens should have a diffuser to reduce the hotspot for a more even coverage. No dual mode. Not a deal breaker, but having this would add to runtime. 130 lumens is not bad, bright enough for close-up work, but compared to other flashlights I have had, running off a 12 volt battery, I think this is capable of powering a much higher output LED. I have a 300 lumen flashlight that runs off an 18650 battery that has a longer runtime than this. Seems something is amiss. Overall, I think this will serve me well for the type of work I do. I will try to find a diffuser that I can glue to the lens.

Better than expected

In short I was worried about it not being bright enough because I like bright flashlights . I was pleasantly Surprised ! I can search for skunks across my 4 acre field with this little light . It will even reach out and shine on a cliff about a 1/2 km away. I have acquired 6 of the batteries because I have the Mac ratchet 1/4”,and 3/8 impact and wanted a light. I’m very impressed and will be buying another one. Hopefully this helps someone stuck on the fence to buy it or not.

Love this thing. Portable, light weight, bright.

I have DeWalt 12 volt gun and saw kit so this was perfect fit. You can clip light to front of shirt/jacket/overalls for hands free and it doesn't drag em down as battery is pretty light. Can be hung or propped up with built in stand. Best parts are the swivel head and the bright light. Head goes in all directions and clicks as you move it. Light is awesome bright. Used light right away in attic and light was bright white and lasted more than 2 hrs straight at full brightness as I used it.
