Great Clock, Easy To Use
This clock was very easy to set up; intuitive to use. My 96 year old dad, for whom it was purchased, loves the size of the letters and the fact that it spells out in full the day of the week and the month along with the time. We recommend.

Resets to EST after power loss.
This is a nice clock. Easy to read, looks stylish. I bought one for my office and one for my mom to help her keep up with the day and time. Unfortunately, if the power blips or goes off, it resets itself to Eastern time and we are on Central. It does come back on with the correct date, but an hour in time off because it can't keep the time zone.

Not one clock in my daughter's house when in.
I can't remember the day of the week, head injury. My daughter agreed on this look and we ALL love this clock. Very smart looking with a clean design.

My mother had a hard time keeping track of the days of the week and when to take her medicines. I have the clock next to her medicine and now she knows what day of the week it currently is! Thanks for a great, helpful product!!

purchased for the need to see more clearly the day and numbers---this just does not get the job done--the letters are just to close together which makes them hard to read---the same thing goes for the numbers--they are just to close together which makes them hard to read---this item is getting the job done but just barley ----do not purchase if you need to read clearly the date and the times!!JLF

The nice thing about this clock is it can be plugged ...
I bought this clock for my daughter, who is far from elderly. She needed a clock that would keep time well, and we haven't had any success with the last three clocks. I figured an atomic clock would do the trick. The nice thing about this clock is it can be plugged in or we can use batteries (two AA included). If we use batteries, the backlight will turn on for a few seconds every time we hit the button on top of the clock. If we plug it in, the light will stay on if we want. We have a choice of bright and dim. The display mode can be switched to show the day of the week or date, and it will show temperature or seconds. My daughter opted for the date and temperature mode. I like the large lettering even though I'm not going blind (yet). There is a stand on the back for her to place the clock on her nightstand. Alternatively, we can hang it on a wall. For you Spanish speakers, there is an option for displaying the day of the week in English or Spanish. This clock gave me the idea of buying one for my dad for Christmas, only I want something that looks less utilitarian. So far, I haven't had much luck finding an atomic clock with large lettering in wood that doesn't look cheesy. If anyone out there sees one, please let me know. _____ UPDATE: I went to my daughter's room this morning to find that it was an hour off. Instead of PST, I have to set it to AKT, the next time zone over. That is working so far. UPDATE 12/7/16: Well, duh. La Crosse told me to fix the DST mode. Not that I noticed it the first time around but it's there. I just had to turn it off to get the right time. LOL. That teaches me to not go too fast and read the instructions.

DST Mode is fixed it seems.
First, for those who were wondering if the time auto update is working or not, it seems the DST mode is working fine. I turned mine off and around 2 am, it did an update and my clock was pushed back an hour (became 1am). However upon activation of DST from Settings and pressing the MINUS button for 3 sec (to start manual time update), it went back to 2am. Clear sign that DST mode does work for my time zone. The viewing angle is bad. It needs to be directly in front of you to have a clear, crisp view of the digits/alphabets. Side view is good at certain angle, but not all. This is especially true for sideways at a higher angle but not when viewed from top or bottom at any angle. Considering it can be run on AC power, the brightness of the digits (not backlight) could've been higher. Perhaps a sharp contrast between black alphanumeric and backlight could've been a better choice. The light blue color just doesn't match well with the black alphanumeric in daytime. Then again, if you are inclined to, you can turn it off, but that means you have to turn it back on at night manually. Auto dim mode does help a lot but it doesn't help with the added low visibility at angles. Red on black background, or black on sharp white background or similar setup could've been much more eye catching (for viewing clearly from distance). The alarm is pretty loud but not too loud that would wake you up if you are a heavy sleeper. Overall, I would say, for the price it is an amazing piece of clock. Initially I was not happy with the viewing angle, but after careful placement on wall for convenient view, it became clear that it is, for its price, a very good clock.

Great LCD Style Clock!
I bought 2 of these clocks, and so far am very impressed with the display options...Temperature, Time, Day, Date, 12/24 hour, back light or not (2 or 3 brightness modes) , battery or power (American style adaptor Inc'). Back light does switch off if on battery power..! Very impressed so far, but we'll see how long they last before the display breaks down, or accuracy declines... Longevity is a very important issue for me, so only TIME will tell this clocks true value..!!!

Ideal for our use.
Very good. Wanted a clock with no back light as used by mum in her bedroom. Came with a two pin plug, not a problem in this case as wanted to use with battery, but might be a nuisance if you want to plug in.

Looks good, works well
I purchased this as a replacement to another brand that failed, this device was purchased for my 91 year old mother who has cognitive issues and was wanting to know what day it is, she loves the clock and it is doing the job of reminding her of the date and day of the week, in a retirement home it’s not always obvious what day it is, this helps, I’ve owned La Crosse technology before and recommend this device.

This clock is excellent but it would be helpfull if the suppliers shipped an ac power supply that was suitable for the country to which it was sent. I am now faced with not using the backlight or purchasing a 240 to 115 volt transformer. Even this may be a problem because the power unit supplied is just a transformer and operating it on 50Hz instead of the American 60Hz will mean it will be 12% less efficient maybe producing a lower output votage. Back to you La Cross.

Great Calendar
My mother has trouble with her vision and this is able to help her with the time of day, day's date, and day of the week. She is beginning with Alzheimer's and this way she is up to date and we do not constantly need to tell her. I would recommend this product and the home where my mother resides has several of them. This product is A++++and the product arrived earlier than was expected.
