Kwikset Tustin - Love Them!

We love these door handles, the Satin Nickel color is very attractive and we love the look of the Tustin curved handle. Bought these to complete the doorknob switch over for our main floor. Had bought the exterior door Kwikset Tustin with SmartKey sets (locking door handles and deadbolts) when we moved in in August. These match up perfectly and also bought the (Pack of 50) Hager 3 1/2 Inch Satin Nickel Door Hinges with 5/8" Radius Corners, to swap out our paint marred old brassy hinges. The final touch on our main floor makeover, look so much more classy than the old, worn and outdated brassy round knobs. Takes a little time to swap over hinges, door striker plate, guts and each new handle, but it is an easy task. Very pleased with this product and would highly recommend them. Price was way lower than priced anywhere else.

Great alternative to a locking handleset, if you already have a single-cylinder deadbolt.

If I've already installed a single-cylinder deadbolt on an outside door, I've taken to installing these Kwikset passage-door 720 handlesets instead of a traditional Kwikset keyed-entry handleset or a Kwikset Smartkey 740 handleset, since it is a cheaper alternative, but still secure. On the single-cylinder deadbolts, the inside twist knob allows easy egress, particularly in the case of a fire in the middle of a night, so there's still the ability to get out when needed, but there's also sufficient security against intruders. I do not use double-cylinder deadbolts anymore, except on side-doors on garages where the door is not needed for emergency egress. But, in these cases, a keyed-entry handleset may be reasonable, as added security. As my father-in-law used to say, locks are for children and honest people, so "security" is really an illusion. All anyone is really doing with a "lock" is making it a little more difficult to get inside. That said, the only issue is "How difficult?"

A well made, solid feeling, good looking door handle

This handle feels solid. It has some heft and that feel of something substantial. I tried similar handles from Schlage and Brinks (sold by Wal*Mart) and - though they looked pretty good, they felt light and kind of cheesy. You can buy option "rosette" (oval) plates to replace the round plates that go around the base. I think they make the handles look more homey and less office like (especially if you're getting one of the nickel/chrome/stainless finishes). It'd be nice if they made that an option instead of something you have to purchase in addition to the handle. But I'm very happy with the handle. They were easy to install (as door handles go). NOTE: Door handles are rated by durability "ANSI Grade". These are ANSI Grade 2, which is very good. Grade 1 is for hospital doors, entries to police stations and other heavy use service (and they look it - and cost it). Grade 3 is pretty typical for residential door handles. They work fine, but seem less solid.

What a difference

Tried these in my house and what a difference. Ended up changing out all doorknobs with these. Good looking, relatively inexpensive and very practical. Perfect.

Kwikset Tustin satin door lever

We bought a large quantity of these for our newly remodeled house. They look and function great. Easy to install. However, don't do the mistake we did: If you have closet or pantry doors that do not require a lever on the inside, DO NOT DRILL A HOLE ON THOSE DOORS and use the dummy levers that come with one lever, thus saving you money!!! P.S. We bought these through Amazon because these same ones were several $$ more at Home Depot.

Great Quality. Easy to Install.

Remodeling what was our guest room into a master suite. Purchased this for the walk in closet to go with a matching one for the bedroom door since satin nickel is the finish we're using. Very pleased. Easy to install. Also, note, we bought from a Amazon Marketplace seller instead of directly from Amazon. Amazon now charges sales tax in our state and doing so not only saved us a few dollars, but sales tax on this purchase. We are Prime members, but if you don't need the item in 2 days, consider this purchase method.

Easy upgrade to a modern looking handle

Easy to install upgrade for older handles. It fits perfectly as a replacement for older Kwikset locks. The finish is nice, and the handle feels like a quality product. The handle is easily reversible, which I needed to change directions for my door. I ordered 10 more to replace the other door handles in the house. This is an easy replacement to update your home, making it more modern.
