Excellent Replacement, Easy to Install

Our old undermount sink was divided into two basins, each of which was too small to comfortably wash large items. Once I found out it was secured to the countertop with simple clips and silicone, it was a no-brainer to replace. This Kraus had the closest measurements while still being at a pretty attractive price (it also had curved corners, which seems a rarity). Undermount installation was shockingly easy: I had one helper hold the old sink as I undid the old clips, then I scraped the old adhesive away with a razor (learn from me, use glasses & a mask). Once cleaned with alcohol, I applied a new bead of silicone to the Kraus, and then Helper lifted it into place and did fine positioning while I secured the clips from underneath. I braced with some 2x4 pieces to help the clips while the adhesive cured. One last bead of silicone along the inner edge, and we were done. Two things merit knocking off a star: 1) While the outer dimensions are nearly perfect, the curve for each corner is very wide. Since I was working with an existing counter opening (it comes with a paper guide if you're making a fresh cut), it's not quite perfect. Still, this is minor and it's not like I was going to compare arc angles. No one will notice but me. 2) The sink trap assembly is VERY deep. The sink itself is 9" deep, but the trap goes down a further 4.5". This was a lot more than I planned for, so I had to get some specialty fittings in order to plumb it. Also, the outer cup of the drain assembly is plastic. I can't figure out how water won't eventually get trapped between this outer plastic cup and the the inner metal one - there's no gasket where they meet at the bottom. You could always get a different drain assembly, and I might end up switching it one day. All in all, I'm VERY happy with this sink. Time will tell if it scratches badly (I got the regular version), and I'll try to update this if it happens. For now, it looks great, doesn't sound like thunder when the tap is on, and feels very secure. Highly recommended with the small caveat that you might do better with a different drain.

Good space

I appreciate the sturdiness, depth and size of the sink. The rounded corners matched my countertop as this sink was a replacement for my previous sink which had a divide and was shallow. While the size and depth are great, I also liked that the sink was advertised as scratch resistant. The texture and finish of the sink took me by surprise. What I found is that over time, it stains and discolors mildly over time. Maybe I’m not using the right cleansers but I’m trying everything. So the staining and the discoloration over time is off putting to me.

I absolutely LOVE it!!

I got a new kitchen an did a lot of research on sinks. I needed to find the right size, the right shape and the right quality. This sink did not disappoint! I have NO complaints. This sink is the perfect size for my island. I wanted a sink with rounded corners because I feel the rounded corners are easier to keep clean vs. the squares off corners. I got the thicker steel and am very happy with it. As far as quality, I had never heard of “Kraus” and I wasn’t sure how good they were. The reviews were good to excellent however, when my quartz company (which has been in business for 50 years) came to my house to measure for the quartz he obviously needed the sink template to cut the opening for the sink. He saw the sink and told me that Kraus was a very good quality sink! I also paid the extra $100 and got the non scratch sink. I have been using it for 4 months and It has not scratched. I don’t understand the people that complained about this sink, I love mine!!

An Outstanding Deal

We ordered this scratch resistant sink and could not figure out why we got such a deal! Then, before it arrived, I noticed that it was listed as used, good condition. We were very skeptical at this point… but when it arrived, we took it out of the box and truly could not tell that it wasn’t new! My husband installed it yesterday and it is absolutely beautiful. We bought this beautiful sink for $169 and consider it a total SCORE! Don’t hesistate… BUY!

Large and Quiet

This is the 2nd Kraus sink I have purchased, and these are great. Very thick / sturdy steal, and dampened very well to minimize noise. I have a laundry sink I need to replace and will be looking to purchase yet another Kraus sink.

Sturdy and Well Priced

We bought the KRAUS 31.5" Model KBU14 Stainless Steel sink to retrofit our kitchen double sink with a single sink. It is spectacular in the stainless steel finish and super sturdy/heavy and well made. It came with the metal insert (which sits at the bottom of the sink to prevent pots/pans scraping the bottom of the sink BUT I suppose it can be used outside the sink as a draining board), black dry cloth and the drain stopper and food scrap basket. The instructions were concise and easy to follow for the average handyman/husband. We especially love the deep drain basket which holds all the food scraps - easy to lift with the handle and clean out. Other reviews stated this basket rusted very quickly, so we will have to watch that - however, we keep it washed and wiped OUTSIDE the sink (when not in use) so that it is dry and does not inhibit rusting - only time will tell. Love the 10" depth of the sink (our old sink was only 7") which easily fits large stock pots and pans - also handy when doing floral arrangements in tall vases. In summary, we are very happy with this sink and would highly recommend it to others. Markham, Ontario - Canada

Great product, easy install with all the parts you need.

I really like this sink. It fit perfectly and it comes with all the equipment you need to either replace or add to a new kitchen. The model I purchased is scratch resistant so there is a texture to it making the surface it but rough compared to what you would normally see in a kitchen sink. It’s not like sand paper where you will wreak your dishes and cups but almost reminds of running your hand on jean material. The installation was really easy because it has a cardboard cut out so you can determine the sizing. It also comes with mounting brackets. It comes with a drain catcher that fits perfectly. The gasket that touches the sink was a foam one so I made an executive decision to just use plumbers putty. It’s never let me down and the foam gasket made be a bit weary to use it. The colour is a light silver. I think most sinks are a bit darker or at least the old on I replaced was darker than this one but it is a nice colour. I am super pleased with how it all went and it is a positive change to my kitchen.

I have been using this for about 7 months. Great sink. Good quality. Nice and deep. I also like having the grate at the bottom. It is helpful to have a pull-out faucet to wash any food remnants to the drain. I went from a top mount double bowl to undermount single bowl and couldn't be happier. Not having the top mount lip makes it easier for cleaning the countertop and not having a partition in the middle is great for washing large pots etc.
