Good EDC tape measure

I've had this tape for 8 months now. It is holding good, with expected wear for an EDC. It will hold for 4-6 months more probably. I live in Costa Rica, so I need a hybrid tape measure, with both imperial and metric readings. Both systems are commonly used here. This size is perfect for me as I work a lot with wood. 10 footers are a little small as many boards come in 12ft. 15 footers are too bulky for an EDC. This is a very good size, it holds good on the hand, it has a spring kicker plate to avoid damaging the clip when retracting fast, and the most important, the measurements show the full inch and cm number: i.e. it doesn't show 1, 2, 3 after every foot or every 10 cm, it show the full inch and cm number all the way to 144" and 350cm. This is a must for me as it avoid silly reading mistakes. The accuracy is about standard. It has a half millimeter error when reading from the tip. The inside and outside measurements do match, so the tip play is calibrated. The nylon coating is average. Do oil it from time to time if you use this and wet environments. Overall, a good EDC tape. My go to for now. Cheap to replace also.

Not as bright as the pictures indicate

It's yellow but it's *just* yellow, not a powdered metallic yellow & not a radioactively sharp yellow. As such it's not ideal for dim lighting. The casing & fasteners also feel cheaply designed (no beautyline lip overlap or if there is they did it wrong) so I wouldn't exactly throw it around. The rivets on the end piece also look...eh. expect it to hold up to it's intended use of medium scale modeling but not in a contraction zone environment. I bought it to 'import' some "assets" into Unity.

Needed to measure in cm and this was what I could find. The case is a bit flimsy but it works and is accurate

Perfect ????

This is probably the first tape measure I've bought and not had handed down to me from family members, and I love it! I specifically wanted a tape with both Imperial and metric markings, and they're hard to find. The matte surface of the tape is easy to read, and the spring action is very smooth. The tape is lightweight, sturdy, and simple, with no sharp edges or fake chrome.

This is absolutely one of the tape measures of all times. All of the lines on the tape measure measure lines. It has one side and another side, so you can use either side.

Made in China - don't buy it

This came from amazon.com and it was shipped to the UK and therefore I thought I thought it was American made. I clearly didn't look closely enough because if I'd known it was made in China then I never would have bought it!

Light duty only

I like this lil guy for carrying to the office where I don't need a ton of length and it doesn't weigh me down. However, the lock mechanism on mine started to lose grip after just a few months of riding in my backpack and occasional use. It still works, and I'll ride this thing til it breaks, but may opt for something different at that time.

Lasted a year and a half

It was never sturdy enough to hold its shape to measure long things, or to clip over the edge of something. The last time I used it I tried to hook the end on something and the whole end of the tape ripped off…not just the metal clip. It also has bends in the tape itself. Look for something else.

Lightweight, feels nice

This tape is very light, so it doesn't feel like it weighs me down. The tape breaks a little under 5 feet, so one can extend it about 4 feet and maintain its rigidity. I'm a commercial electrician, and most of the stuff I do is either less than 4 feet or it's measured on the ground, so this isn't much of a problem. I still have a 25 foot Klein tape for the times when this tape won't work, but this cheap Komelon is what I use 99% of the time. I wish the tape was double sided, but that might be too much to ask from a tape that cost less than $5.

Excellent tape measure

I've used many a tape measure in my time. Learning to appreciate the smaller ones like this 12-foot specimen. Does 90% of what I need and it's light as a feather. The coating on the metal tape makes for smooth action and the case is nicely put together. It has a good quality feel. I bought one for the office and then bought another for home once I found out how nice it was. A bargain.
