High Quality fits Kohler K-8804 Duostrainer body and tailpiece For basket to operate flawlessly

10 years ago we installed a farm sink using a Kohler K-8804 Duostrainer body and tailpiece. The original strainers were lost. I looked on my my Warrenty for the Kohler part number. I verified p/n because Kohler makes several baskets for different diameter duostrainer bodies. Basket has a great snug fit and opens and closes with ease,

Beautifully Crafted

Well, it’s a beautifully-crafted drain basket that almost fits my Kohler sink. 99.5% fits but not quite. Will hold water in sink but water will eventually drain out after about 10 minutes so it’s not a perfect match for me >> but good enough, I guess.

Worked and fit my sink great

Quality best. I bought 2 other cheaper ones they were not working well ended up paying a bit more for 2 of these and these work great and heavy duty .

3rd one in 5 years

We have a Kohler farmhouse sink and I've had to order 3 of these drains in the last 5 years. I don't know what we're doing wrong, but the center stem eventually will not stay in the locked position to allow the water to drain. It's very finicky and collapses easily. It may be that I often lightly bang the drain on the side of our rubber trash can to remove debris. I am no longer doing that but am carefully wiping everything out with a paper towel. The drain feels very sturdy, but it is not.

Wish There Were Better But There Are Not

Not what I expected but good enough. I shopped local at all the places you would think of to find a good quality product. Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, True Value, but none had what I considered a topnotch product. So I searched Amazon and found this from Kohler. Knowing Kohler as a trusted brand I paid top dollar and hoped. This is not as good as I was expecting. It is very good in fit. It fits the drain so well you would think it does not come out. Looks like it should be there. My only complaint is that I think the gauge of the metal should be more thick. It is lighter than it should be. It uses an O-ring for the seal and unless you put a lot of water in the sink to push the O-ring down to a good seal the water will leak out. Leaking out is why I bought a new product. If I could find a better product I would throw this one out but alas I do not think there is a better product out there. The $16.00 price is very high for this but I could not find a better one for any price. Conclusion? If you want a better than run of the mill strainer buy this one. It really is the best you can buy for any price that I could find.

The color coordinates with the sink

My original kohler duo strainers lasted for many years. I bought a few inexpensive ones at discount stores that didn’t hold the water in sink for long. Decided it was time to buy 2 more Kohler strainers for my sinks.

Paint doesn't last

just about a year now and almost all of the painted finish has fallen off. Wonder would they replace it for free

Inconsistent K8803 Basket strainer!

The K 8803 is difficult to find the notch in order to seal the water in sink. More often than not the sink will drain.

Perfect, drop-in replacement

Exactly as expected. Perfect, drop-in replacement. There isn't a lot of excitement in getting a replacement strainer but the 2 day delivery offered actually occurred. That was premium service. H.S.

Finish dulls over time

Unlike the ones I bought when I first bought the sink, this one loses its finish after a couple months use. THe other original one (dual sink) still shines, this one does not any more.
