You can remove and replace the neck.
The selector dial on the unit is really smooth. That's what impressed me the most. It has a nice little click when you put it on the selected setting. I put down easy to install. That my be an over exaggeration. Nothing is ever easy when it comes to plumbing for the inexperienced. If in doubt hire a professional. Water will ruin your home.

Kohler products are the worst, this product doesn't work
We bought a new house last year with all Kohler products already installed. We attempted to change out our existing shower arm with an arm that has a diverter so we could add an extra hand held device. I work more than full time and its been a struggle to take time off this year in order to go to the Kohler show room (which is only open week days) so I ordered this arm online. However, when I got it, I realized I did not understand how the existing shower head would fit on the arm. I finally took a day off during the middle of a week (more like a work from home day where I could sneak away for a half hour). Had conversation with Kohler folks and they told me I was wrong, all products are interchangeable. I went back and really tried to research it, play with it (see if there was another part I needed to buy to make it fit) but it was true, the new arm I bought did not match up with the existing shower head. I took a photo of the existing arm and brought the new diverter arm and the existing shower head to Kohler on ANOTHER day off which took weeks to schedule. They admitted some Kohler products were not interchangeable. They ordered me a new shower head to fit the diverter. I tried to take off the existing arm but the shower wall is slate and I was afraid I was going to break the slate if I tried to turn it too hard (I'm not that mechanical). So hired a plumber, who got it exchanged but the new shower arm sticks out from the wall about 3/4 of an inch (and the collar isn't even close to flush, you see the threads). I was willing to deal with that. Also, the collar on the new shower head doesn't fit (so again, you see the threads). so....it all looked really janky. BUT still willing to deal with it. But after all this, when we turned on the water... the diverter never stopped the flow of water from escaping the diverter portal. It would shut off the shower but not the diverter in either direction. So because of the problem making the damn Kohler products fit together... it took months to figure out the damn thing was broken (and unless I was studying it, the product remained in its original box with its original packaging around it to ensure it didn't get damaged). And now, after 5 months, its not returnable. Its very VERY frustrating. I'm looking forward to building some equity in the house and remodeling the bathroom and getting rid of all the Kohler products. Oh, by the way, the collar on the shower handle/knob... is loose (started becoming loose within the first couple of weeks we moved in). I was told it needed a set screw. Ordered the set screw online directly from Kohler...doesn't matter how much I tighten it, the collar on the arm is still loose. Its like... Kohler products just suck. They are pretty... but its like the lyric from the Todrick Hall song Expensive: "But the ones who look expensive Could be broke on the inside"

Looks good...but a couple of things to note
This is a solid, very nice looking arm/diverter. For a homeowner, installation may be a little tricky depending on the arm that was previously installed. This arm requires that a separate extension piece (stainless or brass nipple) be screwed into the elbow that is in the wall. The arm/diverter does not come with this piece and I couldn't find it in-stock at the local big-box store. I had to go to a plumbing supply store to find it. Secondly, depending on how far back the elbow is installed in the wall, you won't be quite sure if you need a 3" or 2.5" or some other length nipple. In my case, I previously had a Kohler shower arm, but for some reason, but it used a much longer nipple than the new arm could accommodate so the old one had to be removed and I had to buy a shorter one. This unit is a 3-way diverter. Once installed, I noticed that the when the diverter is set to the shower head-only setting and the water is running, a small amount of water still comes through the hand shower. I called Kohler and they sent me a repair kit for the internal valve. I installed it, but still a small amount of water comes through the hand shower when in the shower-head only position. This is not a big deal since it only happens when the water is running, but it's not ideal.

Kohler-ific!
I have always admired the quality of Kohler products. The chrome finishes are second to none in durability and luster! The valve on this shower arm assembly moves easily and has a detent to tell when the valve is fully in one position. I live in a water conservation district, so, it works well to divert water to a shower wand shut off valve while I suds up. The other thing to note, which I could only find out if I ordered it, was, the 1/2" NPT outlet bent-pipe that appears to be part of the valve, will unscrew from the valve and you can install any 1/2 NPT pipe or goose-neck you want. I did call Kohler, but they could not tell me if the bent-pipe unscrewed from the valve body. I was happy to find that it does, and hope that this info helps others decide on their purchase. Just remember to use sufficient Teflon tape or paste Teflon pipe sealer to hold and seal the joint. An additional note: This is the 3-way valve (part# K-76330-CP) which allows you to select from showerhead, handshower, or both at the same time. There is an identical looking valve(part# K-76331-CP that is only a 2-way valve (NO showerhead AND handshower AT THE SAME TIME).They are both the same price. Compared to other manufacturer's valves, this can be a little pricey, but, in this case, you definitely get what you pay for: Unsurpassed quality! Additional note: I've been using this valve every day for almost 2 years. The chrome finish is still perfect and the valve functions without flaw! The picture was actually taken in February 2020. I know, better late than never! UPDATE: September 9th, 2022. The finish is still flawless and shiny! The valve does not leak and still operates with ease! Go Kohler!

Kohler Products Are Built To Last !
This shower arm diverter for the price was reasonable. Although for this particular product, Amazon Prime was unable to ship direct to Hawaii, so it had to shipped to someone on the mainland (free) who in turn shipped it to me after paying another $22 via US postal service priority mail. Other else than that, my install was straight forward. A 1/2" x 2" brass nipple was installed which was purchased from a local plumbing supplier to complete the install.

Nice build but lever podition doesn't coincide with direction of flow.
Came wuickly. Very well made. Had to contact Kohler technicsl support yo understan how the vslve worked. Flow restricter required significsnt pressure to operate. Was easy to remove the restricter. Indicated position of leaver is not intuitive as it does not voincide with the direction of flow. Unfortunately, handle csnnot be repositioned.
